Love that idea of composting. What a great idea, using a small trash can like that with a liner you can just replace. That will eliminate having to clean out your compost bucket all the time, which is the most unpleasant thing about kitchen compost containers. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the kitchen waste in the winter here where the ground freezes solid and is covered with snow. But I will definitely do this the rest of the year. Thanks for sharing!
If the ground is frozen we just start filling up a spare garbage can, once the ground thaws, it all gets dumped into the trench, which in my case is usually about 4ft wide by 2ft across and 18" deep as I work through my 4x8 beds. I usually dig 3ft across so that I can stand in the trench as I shovel soil back onto the kitchen and yard waste. I dig that deep so that prunings etc. can go on the bottom.

Glad you liked it and are going to implement the idea!

Sounds like a good idea and I'm sure if you cant work the ground it will be frozen. So no smell to contend with. Great idea.
