Agree that Floor is amazing but I don't hear it here, they wasted her potential so far based on the two songs I've heard so far.
koopakiid16 Agreed. I first listened to this on my phone, figured it was just my speaker. Now with headphones on a computer... It's good. But I just don't feel the Nightwish power. She has it, and they can play it. It's not that I don't dislike the song, it's just not their fullest effort.
Best thing they did was dispose of Tarja. Her voice has become dire and stale in her middle age.

I like NW since I was a child, I know all the songs, but this song for me is a master piece, I love her voice, the choir, everything blows my mind, I dont care what people say, they bitch for everything, u cannot please to the whole world. NW makes great music, they play with different styles and sounds. dont complain just enjoy it, stop comparing, every single song has a positive thing, and spite of being a soft song, for me is fantastic, for me is metal :)

In the other hand, I guess Tarja had an incredible time with Nightwish, as well as Floor had with After Forever. But, Nightwish... IN MY OPINION, whoever its vocalist is, Nightwish will forever be just the INCREDIBLE BAND we all know. But I sincerely think their better times are coming.

CyclopsRevolution The truth is, Nightwish fans can be some of the truly nastiest people on planet earth. The way Anette was treated by the fanbase, simply because she wasn't Tarja, during her time with the band - and Floor, as well, by some "fans" - makes me sick. Poor Anette suffered an emotional breakdown at one point, and the things people have screamed at Floor are unmentionable.
This is the opening track, can't wait to hear the whole album. Love this song.

Ive just saw Nightwish last night and it was amazing, Floor is a great front women, sings amazing, her presence onstage is electric! She headbanged the whole show, you have to see them live to have a different opinion for this new NG era
Yeah lad, she just turns up the heat in the stage. She's quite tall so it's almost impossible not to notice all that great energy.

I listened to the whole album on a HQ stream, amp and 600w speakers. It nearly took down the house. I'll buy the CD as soon as it comes out. Btw. I've been into NW since 2001. and I do like this album a lot! Haters die.

After hearing Nightwish live last month, i have to agree Floor is the best thing to happen to Nightwish in ages. They sounded better than ever.
I just recently got into nightwish. Was introduced to them with Tarja, now with Floor. I am going to buy this album as soon as it is our here in America...Just to blow a few minds here...I am 53 years old and love this type of music.

Since I've seen them live a few weeks ago and they played this song as the opening, this song gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. I get that feeling I had that evening everytime. It was amazing. This song is amazing. Floor is amazing. The guys are amazing. Nightwish is amazing! They rocked that stage! And for the people that have doubts about the last album, try to see them live or at least see some live videos. You'll appreciate the album so much more after hearing it live!

We all know Floor sounds better live than on albums so the passion will come.
I think Anette and Tarja were great and they both brought something to the table, so does Floor.
Now we just have to see/listen to their live performances and see what their next thing will be.

As a guitar player, all I can say is "Finally!" to Empuu! A real guitar solo with some good ol' shred is a welcome addition to the blandness of the past few albums. I was kind of hoping for...more on the drumming considering who is drumming.

I wonder if the album's drums are arranged somewhat so that Jukka can handle them if/when he returns to play. Because obviously Kai is on a totally different level of drumming and you can hear the difference even in this 'toned down' playing. The fills are smarter and it's more nuanced overall. And then again, Tuomas has toned down Jukka's drumming on the past albums too, to make it fit in his vision. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the album!
It's like with Once they decided they didn't need guitar anymore and were like, "Hey, we're originally a power metal band, right? How about we replace all the shredding and bass and awesome shit with even more orchestra... then do it for three straight albums!"

I wish more metal bands wrote songs about science and reason in such an epic way. This song (and entire album) isn’t just music- it’s art. It celebrates our existence and the universe around us. We don’t need fantasy and magic to have an epic tale such as ours. We are humanity. We were here.
This has become my substitution for coffee, I listen to it every morning now while getting ready for work.

Ya están aquí los Nightwish de 2015 trás tanta expectativas. Ya hemos escuchado "Elán", "Sagan" y ahora este tema más poderoso. Nightwish sigue siendo Nightwish y lo han vuelto a hacer sorprendiéndonos con un trabajo bastante variado sin perder personalidad pero aportando un nuevo aire, el de 2015. Muy buen trabajo por parte de toda la banda. Respecto a la voz algunos esperaban quizás una vuelta al estilo Tarja, otros una linea continuista a lo Anette, ni una cosa ni otra. Floor Jansen es la más grande y versátil, no necesita seguir los pasos de nadie, ella por sí misma y en variado estilo da esos toques mágicos a cada frase y cada tema que los hace únicos. Muy buen tema. Ojo a " The Greatest Show on Earth" tremendo temazo sin concesiones y espectaculares giros en su desarrollo y forma de interpretar las voces, espectacular, así como toda la armonización, magnifico trabajo

Francisco José Escudero Castillo Lo que he escuchado hasta ahora no me acaba de entusiasmar demasiado. Echo de menos a los Nightwish de la época Oceanborn-Wishmaster. Me esperaba más del apartado vocal con Floor Jansen. Lo hace correcto pero no destaca nada. Parece que quieren dejarla un poco en segundo plano y que sea un instrumento más. Me gustaba cuando Tarja destacaba en las canciones y les daba ese toque especial que hizo triunfar a esta banda. Era la guinda del pastel.

The one thing I get out of this song, "Elan," and "Sagan" is that the band is really having fun with this album, and it comes through in the songs. I so can't wait for this album.

Also, to those saying the Richard Dawkins part doesn't fit or shouldn't be there.. Actually look up how he describes science and evolution. He views science as a whole as something beautiful and magnificent. Him speaking as the intro is an absolutely perfect fit.

I can only speak for myself. I love the styles of Nightwish. I can't wait to hear this album in full. Excellent song. Everytime I hear Nightwish I just wann a grab my axx and rock. The band returned to it's origins... and DON'T lose the oneiresm, dark oneirism in this album... the instrumentation is just perfect, mix it with Floor voice and you have a long dream in the form of music.
When I heard this song for the first time yesterday, my jaw dropped and now, after listening to it five times, I can safely say this is my favourite song. Can't remember when a song has given me chills like this before (must've been a Nightwish song)...so epic and beautiful. The album will be killer!

It was far better then I imagined, They played so many great songs, including gethsemane which is off of Oceanborn and they played sleeping sun. 2 songs I never would have thought I would hear live. It was awesome. Also the new songs great live as well. I did have a blast and Im going to see them on may 14th in silver springs Maryland, 4 hours from here and the last show of the U.S. tour and my GF bought us VIP tickets!! YESSS

I have listened to the whole album and can say it has a mix of metal and soft tunes. After listening to the album three times I have come to terms that this new album is incredible. The last song takes you on a beautiful ride blending in with unique play. I will buy the official album considering this is a downloaded album. I will support there hard work. One of the best albums I ever listened too.

I will eggescibe my feelings about every song, considering i heard wholer album like 10 times so i already know these songs :D so Alpenglow - Thing i dont like about this song is start, otherwise its good song, not my favorite but good :) Edema ruh, song what i really didnt liked, and now i am in love with it, the chorus is really inspiring, it makes me feel calm, and i am happy while listening to it :) Élan, so élan is another song i hated, and after 5 th listening it changed and i love this song, its classical catchy song meant to attract people, also very calm, nice one :) Endless forms most beautiful - abother song i really like, even if singing between choruses is kinda how call it not my taste, the rest is epic ! :) eyes of sharbat gula, ok i lied i didnt listened to this song since i was too excited of vocals :) my walden is another epic song what was ok at first listen then grew and i REALLY like it, its another calm soft song, even if i dont listen to soft music that often it just makes me happy :) Our decades in the sun, is really perfect song and i am in love with this one, really perfect one, Floors voice in this one is amazing, this feeling .... !! :) Shudder before the beautiful, ofc, thats more like old Nightwish, heavier, catchy, i like this one and i think its perfect as release track, :)) Finally The greatest show on earth, oh what to say here, one of best if not best Long song i ever heard, From start to end i got totally amazed by pianos and everything else, then Floor starts sing operatic and i am in heaven, then it become heavier, and these 2 choruses in middle and near end are also totally amazing, this song is really masterpiece :) Weak fantasy is something very special, heavy song and i really like it, it energize me, epic at max volume, floor show a lot here :) Yours an empty hope is another heavier song, what i didnt liked at all at first listen but i think its nice song , just very different from everything NW did before :) So that are my feelings about album, Musically i think Imaginaerum is their best album, but after i heard GSOTE, i vote this album on same level !!!
I agree on what you say. I felt the same way. I continue to listen to every song in order and everything comes together each time. The greatest show on earth starting at the 12 min mark is absolutely stunning, it's a masterpiece. I am so addicted to this album it's not even funny, as I said before the direction on this album was well put and look forward on future projects.

After hearing several times endless form most beatiful, the new nightwish album, what surprised me most was how melodic the album is, is so dificult to carry letters to melodies THROUGH the piano only a few can do that and how good are the melodies on this album is incredible, are so sticky that you end up singing them in the car in the bathroom everywhere, is a tribute to the evolution of being whit life.
The album has all, heavier songs, melodic songs epic songs and instrumental Songs. the most diverse album the band have made, very compact and works very well,Incredible how a song of 28 minutes feels like 5, a master piece the greates show earht song,
Conclusion is a album with 9 entrances one intermedium and a principal act the last song, in that order, nightwish an original progressive rock symphonic metal band that creates quality music.

This is how you truly blend metal with an orchestra. There's a lot of stuff out there that doesn't get it, just some synths and VSTs sprinkled on it, or the "operatic" approach of the baroque and neoclassical arrangements.
This is the way, the orchestra must boost the overall performance to the crushing point.

Absolutely epic! Album already pre-ordered and will be seeing them in May! I'm actually glad that Tuomas is using Floor's range sparingly. She's a strong and highly versatile vocalist who doesn't need overkill. Whatever the shape of the entire album, Nightwish has always delivered a thoughtful and quality product.
Just saw them last night in Cleveland, Ohio and they were magnificent. The mix of old and new material provided something for everyone in a show that ran nearly 2 hours. Go see them NOW!
A pure musical masterpiece
This is the most magnificent Nightwish song I've heard since Cadence of Her Last Breath
Amazing! This was my biggest pleasant surprise in recent memory. I'm not what you call the worlds biggest (Modern) metal fan, and I've always sort of avoided Nightwish because I knew they were metal. But I bought this album as a gift for my wife as she's a big fan of the band and she convinced me to give it a listen, and I absolutely fell in love. I've since listened to most of Nightwish's other albums too. I think this album and Imaginaerum are my favourites so far.
I still haven't really got into this album, there are a few great tracks and I know them all quite well but none of them seem to stick with me. Imaginaerum is beyond amazing to me, i just love it from start to finish and is easily my favourite nightwish album! I enjoy the 1998-2004 period too but it's very niche and i have to be in the mood for it tbh :P

Yeah, I think I prefer once as a whole album, but century child has 5 or 6 songs that stand out as some of tarja's best songs imo so it's hard for me to choose!
IMO EFMB then DPP then Once and Oceanborn. No real preference after that although Floor has definitely improved my opinion of Imaginaerum.
