I'm now only a few days away from putting together my build (my first one to apply thermal paste on cpu which is my only worry). I've seen alot of different ways and I've started to understand the different approaches, but with the "Dark Rock Pro 4" specifically in mind would it be better to spread out the paste like in this video or can I do what I've been thinking of doing (pea size glob on the middle of cpu)??
When you spread the thermal paste, you make sure that you cover the entire CPU and the surface of the cooler, but even with the "pea method" you should not experience any problems. We have published a video about this. Here you can find our recommendations: ua-cam.com/video/jr2KbbbnZTY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=bequiet%21
I've only done a couple of heat sink installations, but I applied the thermal paste in exactly the same way as they did in this video, by applying a relatively even thin layer. That ensures the entire things is covered. I did my last one about ten years ago and I haven't felt the need to change it, because it still runs quite cool. I really don't understand why some people use weird patterns of thermal paste blobs. It's a lot easier to just manually spread it out and none of the CPU will be missed. Perhaps they're trying to avoid trapping air, but that hasn't been an issue for me.
@@bequietofficial Was gonna buy one of your products but after hearing something as simple as a mounting kit will take this long to produce and ship, will be going with another manufacturer.

@@bequietofficial The fan split cable from this dark rock pro 4. On the two males end of the cable.one has three and the other one has four pins

Here you can find our recommendations:
ua-cam.com/video/jr2KbbbnZTY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=bequiet%21
ua-cam.com/video/ofyNgJyhGuc/v-deo.html
I've only done a couple of heat sink installations, but I applied the thermal paste in exactly the same way as they did in this video, by applying a relatively even thin layer. That ensures the entire things is covered. I did my last one about ten years ago and I haven't felt the need to change it, because it still runs quite cool.
I really don't understand why some people use weird patterns of thermal paste blobs. It's a lot easier to just manually spread it out and none of the CPU will be missed. Perhaps they're trying to avoid trapping air, but that hasn't been an issue for me.

@@bequietofficial but then, according to the site, why are they not compatible? Sorry again but i need to be sure about everything because it's my first pc 😅
Could dark rock slim go on LGA 1700 intel? i know i'm asking again, but i didn't saw on their official page they put compatibility with socket LGA 1700 intel :/
The Dark Rock Slim is LGA 1700 compatible, but the mounting has to be ordered separately. You can get it for free if you upload the required receipts.

Will this cooler work with Asus creator WiFi z690 mother board
This is a general mounting video. Which cooler are you referring to? Did you use the mainboard check on our website?
@@bequietofficial I'm talking about cougar froza 85 air cooler
How should we know? We can only speak for our products.
About pure loop/silent loop 2 instruction:
1st Did you swap that part for exactly the same part?
2nd "Only silent loop 2" means I can only swap that part in silent loop, or I can only instal silent loop on lga1700 and I can't instal pure loop?
if you order a mounting kit for Silent Loop 2 (and only for this cooler!) you have to swap the standard bracket with a new one thats included in the mounting kit.
@@bequietofficial Thanks for Answer! By the way: are you going to make 420mm pure loop or silent loop 2? I'm asking because some of your cases (eg. silent base 802 or dark base pro 900 rev.2) support such radiators
Hello, I just bought an Dark Rock Pro 4 on amazon and since this video is alrady a bit old I was wondering if it now comes with the mounting kit by default, or do I still have to buy/ask for one on the website? Thanks!
The Dark Rock Pro 4 is now shipping with the LGA 1700 mounting kit, but some (rather smaller) retailers still have leftover stock with packages that do not yet include the kit. Therefore, we cannot say for sure.
@@bequietofficial Got it, thanks!
I just bought a cooler last week and mine didn't include one
@@WinterCougar mine did. thank god!
@@bequietofficial does that mean if the package says it doesn’t support socket 1700 it can still come with a mounting kit? If it’s so you should put sticker on products that come with these
Does this improve 12st gen when if we have already Silent Loop 2 mounted in lga1200 brackets ? (Asus z690 have both lga1200 and lga1700 holes).
We recommend using the mounting kit, as this is the only way to ensure the correct pressure.
@@bequietofficial Thank. I have big heat issue with my 12700K. Almost 100° at full load with Silent Loop 2 and thermal grizzly paste.
According to be quiet site, dark rock pro 4 is not compatible with Asus ROG strix z690-g gaming motherboard, but if you install this, will they be compatible?
It might block RAM or PCI Slots. Just hover the cursor over the yellow ! on the Mainboard-check
@@bequietofficial unfortunately is red. So i don't know what to do
@@bequietofficial what can I do? Do i have to buy another one that is compatible or even if it's red i can mount it?
Is it available to order now?
Yes, our current coolers come with the LGA 1700 mounting for some time now and the mounting kit can also be ordered separately:

@@bequietofficial okay, thank you, I've sent a request of LGA1700, I ordered pure loop 360 yesterday, but I guess our retailer doesnt have the 1700 kit
