Lady Fantasy is a MUST Camel track if you want a song with vocals. Can’t stress the song enough when it comes to top prog songs from the 70’s. BTW, please continue the lovin’
The whole Mirage album in general is great, arguably their best. "Nimrodel-The Procession-The White Rider" from that one is another worthy of reacting to.
Andrew Latimer is up there with Dave Gilmour, Steve Hackett, Steve Howe and Martin Barre as the greatest melodic prog rock guitarist's of all time, technically awesome.
Glad to finally hear some Camel. I've been heavily into progressive rock for a while now, but never got around to Camel. This was a good introduction and I'm definitely going to check out more.
There have been innumerable lists of greatest guitarists, but a constant disappointment is that Andrew Latimer of Camel, is almost always missing. He is clearly a very accomplished technical guitarist, but always manages to keep his playing tasteful. Camel's musicians never seemed to be in competition with each other. Everything complimented Everything else.
Stationary Traveller, Never Let Go, Rajaz, Lawrence, Sahara, ice, Lady Fantasy, all great songs by camel, then there is snow goose, the whole album, another level.
I saw these guy way back in the early 70's. They are still going, though Andrew Latimer is the only original member still in the band. They have such an awesome catalogue. A sorely overlooked band, great musicians.
Back in the 70s when the laser light shows were the big thing, my friends and I went to Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles to see a light show mainly of Pink Floyd songs but there was a mix of other songs entwined with Pink Floyd. This song was one of them. The laser show consisted of a Outer Space theme which was awesome. I'll never forget it. It didn't hurt to have taken some LSD prior to the show.
Hey you two; great show; just to see your reactions to this great music your discovering is awesome-im 60 years old and have been listening and going to concerts since i was 15. You have a tremendous amount of music to journey through. You will be totally blown away the more you hear. Your reactions are priceless. Enjoy your journey!!
Boy is it great to see you two back! Great song to open with. Camel, true definition of progressive rock. The sound quality is excellent with no freezing....looks like the new tech works excellent! Great job figuring it all out! Great shirts also. Now get cranking!
One of the best solos I've ever heard comes from this track. Blows me away every time! Andy Latimer is criminally underrated!! For vocal tracks, try Lady Fantasy, Freefall and Never Let Go (the song that inspired Benighted by Opeth).
I've always had a soft spot for Camel , and Goblin, and the influence they had in so many bands like The Ozrics ( Ozric Tentacles for the uninitiated).
So great that you've been recommended Camel to listen to. Awsome band, and what an awsome guitarist Andy Latimer is. I'd like to recommend another Camel track, #Ice, off of the 'I Can See Your House From Here' album from 1979. In my mind one of the most atmospheric, beautifully crafted peices of music ever created. Keep up the great reaction videos, and keep up the chemistry you guys.
This is the first reaction I have seen to true classic 'prog' rock. You might think about doing Magma, Hatfield and the North, Egg or even Henry Cow. This genre runs deeper than you can imagine. The record companies prefer to forget about it altogether and have done a great job of sweeping it under the rug.
I'm only giving a like because you played my favourite track of my favourite band with my favourite guitarist ! favourite keyboard player ! favourite drummer ! and second favourite bass player 😂👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Andy, Peter, Andy and Doug where a special magical mix in the early years of CAMEL but there has always been good musicians in every change of members including my favourite bass player in CAMEL Richard Sinclair from CARAVAN and the most recent member the most amazing multi talented Pete Jones 😱 but it has been Mr Latimer who has kept the show on the road all these years 🎸❤️
Thank you for reacting to Camel! They're very good and I hope more people will find their music. I'm an unsuccessful Finnish songwriter and a musician. Some of my songs have been compared to Camel but they're not as good. I sometimes suffer from depression and It always cheers me up seeing your videos. Your human touch and close relationship is the best thing I've ever seen in music reaction videos. I've been watching your reactions since you only had less than 20 videos made but I haven't really commented before. Well, I only commented once to give some useful tips for starting out on guitar. I usually have to have something I really want to say to comment... :-) I only wanted to write that you are very important to us all. You are perfect the way you are. Thank you for doing what you do!
Try more of recent Camel, which is awesome too, Rajaz, Harbour of tears, A nod and a wink, Dust and dreams, Andy Latimer is an AWESOME guitarist, totally underrated one, the same level of David Gilmour, IMO
Welcome back guys, I been missing you a lot. This song was incredible, I've always heard of the band Camel but I never payed attention to them, now I need to listen to an entire album of them. You could really follow "Lunar Sea" by Camel with "Cosmic Sea" by Death (an instrumental too) another awsome song.

Camel took me away from my teen angst. I lived in that band. Some kids went with angry heavy rock. I went mood altering rock like Camel. When my friends were doing drugs or drinking, I was doing Camel. They kept me sane.
I've got a confession to make...😳 me, aged 18 and my buddies, 1978...listening to Lunar Sea on the boom box on the beach, doobie in hand, watching the moon and listening to the Irish sea...😊 Happy days...❤
Just love Camel i was listening to them last night thats weird...lol. Glad you guys are back ive missed you.im not going to make any more requests for a while to give you's a break lol....great reaction..to a great band.🎧👍
Camel...always one of my favourites, must have seen the over 40 times in the 70s from the Marquee club in Wardour Steet in Soho to the Rainbow Theatre and yes Lady Fantasy is a must as is The 'Homage to the God of Light Revisited' recorded at Dingewells in Cambden London.
For me, Lunar Sea is the greatest prog track ever recorded. Andy Latimer's done more great solos than any other guitarist I can think of, but this is his best. And the keyboards, drumming and bass playing are spectacularly good too. It really feels like it's taken you into space.
If you had the vinyl the last thunder note just kept repeating. Andy Ward was an amazing drummer but his bi-polar and other health problems caused him to retire. He did play with Marillion for a few months but his problems resurfaced and he had to leave.
There is a great live version of this with video on youtube. Other suggestions of this ilk include Hazard profile from the 1975 Soft Machine album Bundles with Allan Holdsworth on guitar or try some Colosseum such as the Valentyne suite from the late sixties (worth it for the drums alone). Cheers.
I just watched Black Sabbath Mr. Crowley from 1981 and I just have to say U2 have to be the strongest people that I’ve ever met with your son I would be curled up in a corner for God knows how long to do what you do after 2 1/2 months to me is amazing God bless both of you

Amazing reaction! Maybe a fun fact to know; you guys reacted to Widonwpane by Opeth. The man behind Opeth is a huge fan of Camel and the album Damnation (which contains Widonwpane) is highly inspired by Camels music, espacially Andrew Latimers guitarplaying.
Everyone thought i was a weirdo in the early 70's when i loved that album, but they ALL came around to my way of thinking.Prog is for enlightened,open-minded people.
