@Tango Dragonfruit That wouldn't work, most explosives need either heat or a powerful shockwave to detonate. What a way to begin the day. 💥 I used to have an alarm app for which you had to complete a mathematical test before it would turn off. For a few months I got very good very quickly but then I had to uninstall it because I was concerned that I might throw it out the window some tired morning! I can tell you there were mornings where pulling my brain together enough to complete the test and stop the alarm was almost to much, those mornings when you’ve been out late 😵💫. Imagine getting hit with math first thing of the day while your alarm goes off and last night was a rough one!
Still a worthwhile app feature..... I feel justified in considering it as a secondary usage.... training exercise to help hone ones skill of remaining zen under pressure.
I used an app like that for a little while. It stopped being effective when I was too tired to even see straight in the morning and just ended up turning the phone off in order to shut up the alarm.
I have a friend whose alarm clock shoots off a little fan and he has to find it to turn off the alarm. Usually it shoots off into the jungle under his bed tho😂
I use this and have gotten to the point where I sometimes end up just lying on top of the phone to muffle the noises and sleeping for several more hours.

I was thinking the same thing. Kept waiting for him to bust out a ESP32, but it never happened. 😂
Lol. Just searched your channel up after seeing a meme of your old videos from ten years ago, glad to see you're doing well
i love how partway through the video he realizes he's essentially building a Looney Tunes style time bomb lmao
me being like its not what it looks like lmao
Funnily enough it all clicked in my head a few seconds before it happened, but I also thought of Loony Tunes lol
@@kaitlyn__L the classic alarm clock really does it 😂
The editing at 9:52 was so funny XD I laughed at the sponsor sound effect
9:27 doom guy ughh
Hahaha. The suspense of the first alarm clock test was HILARIOUS. I really needed that pick me up. Thanks as always Mr. Boom. 🤣🤣
That was hilarious! I loved itn
Great video! Would be fun to see a follow-up video of this being used to wake up in the morning, just to see if it’s a good way to wake up or if it just scares you to death lmao
Keep up the good work btw! 😁
10:44
My bro donated 25 Norwegian krones
Leaving that thing powered over night is only a good idea if you want to never wake up again :D
Haha I didn’t even think of it as a time bomb till you said that 😂😂😂
The slow mo footage was nice, keep this quality up!
Nice. Would be great to have a second stage if you hit the snooze button, with much larger free-flying capacitors.
Are you even have the courage to hit snooze button and sleep again after all that explosion 🤣
He is literally mumbo jumbo irl
7:50 - Yeah, but Mehdi, thats how you do that. I assume, I mean.
10:18 was the most beautiful scene i saw on this channel
Thank you for the instructional guide on how to hook up electronics up to a timed alarm clock. This will be very useful in my future endeavors that are very legal.
2:47 Hahaha Careful Mehdi
The man is not only a talented engineer, but also a showman. Congratulations Mehdi! You are great!
You could also design and 3d print like a wedge that comes after the connection to live wires, so that the capacitor legs get spread again for the case it didn't blow.
When I want to attach a motor to something, I usually use black tape (electrical) instead of zip ties. Black tape works awesomely and you can stretch it to make it really firm on any object.
dude, i love your music!

Lol thanks!
Keep on ElectroBoomin’!
The design is very human
Let Mehdi demonstate. we need to plug in the power to the high votage and motor and wait the alarm to go off
Thanks for teaching me how to make time bomb. I'll definitely gonna give you review after making it😊😊
What a way to begin the day. 💥
I used to have an alarm app for which you had to complete a mathematical test before it would turn off.
Yeah to be honest all of the listed examples of alarm app* shortcomings, I've personally also used on a few occasions. LOL.
So excited for the Keysight Workshop tomorrow, I am just an electrical tinkerer and dont fully understand all the symbols and jargon, but love learning. Thanks Medhi, for all the do's and don'ts of electricity. I learn a little bit more with each vid, keep em coming.
The laugh in the end!! Love your commitment to safety!! 😅😅
For version 2.0 you could scale it down by using an arduino and a stepper motor, this way you also could have your alarm clock software implementated.
I don't think he's good at coding though.
No Arduinos on ElectroBOOM.
In that case, why not go "solid state" and blow the caps up with some transistors instead of motorizing it
Figured he can 3D print a Geneva drive.
4:14 That was close...
Huh?🤔
Truly The "Red Green" of our time
Safety squint at 2:55. Nice.
Can we stop to appreciate the hard work he does(and has done) for so many years?
I find It a little inadéquate too.
definitely gonna try this at home
11:06 Have you considered putting a wedge above the mains contacts for auto-adjusting the legs?
same thouhht heheh
