Maguire hands down feels the most like an actual dork. Like, Garfield and Holland are both too much of pretty boys for us to seriously believe they’re constantly bullied and pull no girls. Whereas Maguire’s Peter is *so* goddamn awkward that I 100% believe he gets swirlies on the reg
Holland also is very awkward and dorky. I also like how he does pop culture references to add more flavor that he is a teen. I feel like out of the three, tom actually looks like a teen. Garfield is too hot for it to be believable lmfao. Like he doesn’t have to be popular. But you telling me that mofo can’t get bitches?
Lmao. I was 2 years old when it came out, and my dad showed me the movie when I was like 4 or 5, so I didn’t even notice how terrible the editing was💀😭😂
Honestly, my favorite aspect about the Rami Spider-Man movies is how involved civilians and average people get. Like James Jonah Jamison refusing to tell Goblin who takes the pictures, the people throwing stuff at Goblin, and the train scene in Spider-Man 2. Idk it kinda ties in to MJ’s “anyone can be Spider-Man” speech in Spiderverse
i agree. I miss new york's spiderman. The problem with super hero movies today (excluding the batman) is that they don't focus on what heroes do, which is save people. It's all about some big bad villain. We also miss out on seeing these people involved in the stories which make the heroes more human themselves.
Finally someone who shares the same love that I have for the first movie.. I mean the reason I love this one the most out of the trilogy is because of the nostalgia, so basically Jo's right... Also this movie is the first time I realized how much second hand embarassment you can get from just watching those awkward scenes on screen
The Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies are the best and I’m tired of people saying “it’s nostalgia” no, it’s just people nowadays aren’t used to the editing and dialogue of Sam Raimi and of the 2000s. Also I’m here to defend MJ: People like to compare her to Gwen but it’s a bad comparison. Gwen had a good and successful family. They had a big place to live. Her dad wasn’t abusive. MJ was poor and had an abusive father. Had a toxic boyfriend probably cause of her daddy issues. She was always just trying to find someone that loved her. First movie, she’s looking for anyone to love her. Spider-Man 2 is her trying to find anyone to love her now that Peter rejected her. Spider-Man 3 is her trying to find someone that loves her now that she lost the Peter that loved her and she lost her dream job. So I WILL NOT TAKE MJ SLANDER ANYMORE!
bro saying ppl arent used to someones directing style is the worst defense ever bc the whole point of a movie, is to be good at first watch. you shouldnt have to “warm up” to someones style especially in a movie. you can do new innovative things AND have ppl like it instantly. like im sorry but i cant take sam raimis directing seriously. its so goofy i cant. i watched dr strange and i couldnt take any of the emotional or intense fight scenes seriously bc of it. like i was giggling bro. it was so bad to me bc it felt… so….. cringe…… it felt like a fifth grader had a bit of liberty to tweak the movie like 🤷♀️
@@whatzittooya2943 First of all, I disagree. Mary Jane has flaws but she’s not a bad character. Again, she simply is a woman who wants to be loved so desperately, she does some questionable things. However, she most of the time, has good intentions. And it shows how great Peter is cause despite some of her flaws, Peter sees her true self and potential and that’s what he loves about her. And that’s what MJ loves about him. Second of all, you agreed with me that we shouldn’t be fully comparing the two women but your reasoning is from different mine lol
“is 9/11 canon in spider man” actually in spider man ps4, if you look at the glass on one of the buildings you can see the reflection of where the twin towers were. so yes, 9/11 is canon in spider man
I genuinely love these movies. And yes, partly because of the nostalgia. It did plant my love for Spider-Man. But also because I love that the webs come out of his wrists. I always enjoyed that it was a genuine spider bite that made him Spider-Man. I also love that all 3 of these movies explore him so much, from high school to after school, and at his highs and his lows. I also love the scene when he walks out of the shop in all black and starts dancing. Its just iconic to me. And seeing him come back in NWH was literally the highlight of my life. I appreciate all of the movies in their own ways but Tobey Maguire's movies will always have first place.
remember when me and my brother were younger and watched this movie for the first time. He then jumped off the roof because he thought he was spiderman 💀
14:06 To answer your question, yes 9/11 canon...kinda In the trailer for this movie, it showed a scene of a bank being robbed and the robbers escaping in a helicopter. When the helicopter is caught in a web between the twin towers. The scene was originally going to be Spider-Man's grand entrance moment but it was cut out after 9/11 happened. For half a second you can see the reflection of the twin towers in Spider-Man's eyes. This is why the bridge scene with the New York banning together and Spider-Man landing on a USA flag were added, to boost American audiences during such a tragic time.
