I live in Letcher County. None of these County's received the necessary funding that was raised. I just brought my 87 year old Mother back home 3 weeks ago. Fema will not pay for a bridge if there's only one home there, my niece had a large camper there however because it's wasn't on blocks they wouldn’t consider it a home. If it had been they would have paid it to be built. We had colverts installed by the county and they washed away 3 weeks later. Our people are still struggling in Southeast Kentucky. I had to carry groceries in a wagon on the railroad tracks and walk a steel beam carrying them till my brother sent supplies for a bucket trolley put in by our local fire department. The first cleaning crew that put the beam across the creek came from the original bridge that had been there for 30 plus years. The beam washed away 3 times. Homes were destroyed without permission while people waited on supplies. I volunteered 7 days a week at a Distribution center that was started under one canopy on my property. We grew bigger and served 6 counties till December. I have been interviewed 3 times for Lexington news. Our people are still in need of home repairs, Material, furniture, Beds , and mattresses.
