Hi, I'm Louise! I started this channel in 2010 after readers of my blog (called Sprinkle of Glitter) suggested I give UA-cam a try. I was instantly hooked and have found my internet playground on here. I make videos about plus size fashion, motherhood, lifestyle and occasionally have special guests (friends, kittens or my sweet Daughters Darcy, 12 and Pearl, 5).

in total agreement about Sequoia lodge, we go to dlp every year and much prefer newport bay or the cheyenne (we have stayed offsite a lot at val d'europe, but with littles its more difficult). We always take an extension cord with more plugs for our trips too! Even in the updated rooms there arent enough sockets in my opinion
I love seeing your family have so much fun. I hope to visit Disneyland Paris someday. You mentioned that they don’t have the storybook canal boats in America. They do have them at Disneyland in California. 😀
I actually prefer the configuration of the seats in the boats at Paris. At Disneyland we face towards the center of the boat like jungle cruise. It makes it hard to see all the stuff behind you.

Louise this was JUST the morning pick me up I needed. I've been sick all week and feeling (frankly) sorry for myself and I smiled the entire way through this vlog. Darcy has so many mannerisms that are just like you, its so sweet and reminds me of me and my mom.
Disneyland has the Storybook Canal Boats too ❤ also one of my very favorites, especially at night!!!!!

The original Disneyland in California has the Storybook Land Canal ride and also that small train (can't remember the name). Both nice, relaxing rides that not many take the time to enjoy, And I did have to chuckle when you said 'vintage' Mickey and Minnie from the 90s...growing up in Cali I think of the ones from the 60s as vintage, LOL. So happy your family enjoyed this trip....can't wait to see the rest.

Also YES to the Disney Store memories - our one in Crawley had a huge pile of giant Disney soft toys on a stage area that all the kids used to dive into… in hindsight, I’m sure the shop workers would silently fume every time we did it, but as children in the 90s, it was great fun!
To solve the plug socket issue, I got of amazon a extension lead that had a European plug, but the sockets on the extension are UK. It's been brilliant for all my DLP, I found none of the hotels there have loads of sockets, I also don't have to worry about having loads of conveters.
Sequoia lodge golden Forrest rooms are definitely dated and worn but 100% our favorite hotel and the golden Forrest breakfast is top class ,especially love the little tea at 4 o clock . We bring extension leads so all is good for power . I just love the atmosphere downstairs and is more child friendly in comparison to Newport ,Disneyland hotel or Art of Marvel . In January the fire is lit in the bar and it’s just incredible ❤
Watching these vlogs are making me for excited for my next trip. My sister and I are going to DisneyLand Paris next week!

I love seeing the different parks to see what bits from other parks are also there, like Aurora's castle being at DL Paris and DL California. The same with those parks both having the Storybook Land Canal Boats. In California there is a cast member on the boat that tells the story of each home and points out hidden Easter eggs, like the carriage turned into a pumpkin half way down the drive of Prince Charming's castle.
Dream and Shine brighter is so quintessential Disney to me, I love it so much, too! Also massive outfit envy for the girls' jackets and hairstyles. I wish my braids wouldn't immediately fall apart because of my very fine hair haha.
My Disney tip would have been that annual passholders also get the extra magic hour, without having to stay on property (at a certain pass level, the lowest ones don't, I think). It has proven a good way for me to be able to stay off-property and plan two smaller trips, instead of spending €€€ on the on-site hotels. This tip is a outdated now, since Disney discontinued Annual Passes for a while, but I'm sharing this anyway, because I am assuming/hoping that they'll do something similar when they release passes again. So keep your eye out.
My other tip would be to enjoy yourself and interact with your surroundings! Be that utilising the pretty theming for pictures, having a sit and rest for a bit, share funfacts with your group or interact with Cast Members. One of my favourite memories from my last trip was going on Peter Pan's Flight one last time before the fireworks, it was late at night, me and my friend were absolutely exhausted from two full days in the park, but the cast member working on the ride that night wore a ride specific pin that I loved, so I told them that. It made for a lovely interaction with them and put a smile on all our faces! Made the evening a little more magic.

i stayed at sequoia lodge a week ago for the first time and luckily i knew about the plug situation before going so i packed and extension cord. i liked the all over feel of the hotel + rooms but yes, they’re a bit outdated and could use an upgrade.
Love the Disney vlogs, Sequoia Lodge is my favourite hotel at Disneyland Paris because I love the woodsy theming. I think when the Disneyland Hotel opens that’s the next one to close for a long awaited refurb. X
Hiya Louise when you next stay in Disney land Paris I recommend Hotel Cheyenne it's only a three-star but it's newly refurbished and really good or Hotel New York its very new and the rooms are lovely!

We have the Storybook Land Canal boats in Disneyland! You need to come back to California and see the original ride! You can even see one of the old ticket booths for the ride!
The Storybook ride is also at Disneyland in California. I used to love that ride as a little kid. Everything is miniature.

They do have story book at the original park in California. At nights it’s the best with all the beautiful lights

I love your disney vlogs!! I want to visit disneyland paris one day, but I’m a WDW local so there’s a disney in my backyard practically hah. I went to disneyland california this year (was super cold) but I’m super grateful to go there, truly magical at every park you go! 😭💖
Whenever you show the menu I pause it to see if I can guess what you were going to get - I also love a menu :)
All the disney hotels sadly lack plug sockets so we always take extension leads with us alot easier!

We did the Sequoia lodge in October 2019 for Halloween and it was brilliant. The Villains parade in the evening was great too. Definite recommend. Please tell me you saw the dragon under the castle!

I stayed at the same hotel first time I went to DLP a couple years ago and I thought the same thing about the rooms. Very outdated and a little grubby 😅 So next time we went we stayed at a non Disney hotel a little down the road and it was sooo much better. So much more modern and fresh. And we didn’t necessarily miss the ‘benefits’ of staying at a Disney hotel so definitely worth it (and cheaper 😅)
I heard Phantom Manor was so good. Might be a bit much for Pearl since it's different than the Haunted Mansion, but Darcy might love it.

Disneyland has story book!

As a Dutchie I am curious: have you ever heard of Efteling? It’s a Dutch fairytale theme park and I have a feeling you and your family would love it!

@@Louisepentland please do! The Disney company apparently consulted with Efteling when they were working on DLP. There’s even a rumour that Walt Disney himself visited Efteling in the 50s before opening Disneyland!
Weird question but how does Liam find the rides with his long legs 😂 My parter has long legs and is very tall so just wondered if it will be a squeeze or not on the rides!! 😂

We've booked that type of room, when you say the beds weren't comfortable, were they too soft/hard/small? I think I could cope better with too soft to too hard.
They were very small doubles so if you are used to a king size, this will feel...close ha. The mattress itself felt extremely worn, no spring or give left in it, just very hard and thin. I saw they've even put a mattress topper over it so I think they know the mattresses are poor but haven't yet done a refurb. Perhaps it is next on the list! xxx

I’ve found Disneyland Paris hotels to be very dated the last few times I’ve been, they are in desperate need of a remodel
The food in the rat restaurant did not look good and very expensive.
I'd say it was Ok food, high prices but amazing theming. I think we'd only do it once but I'm glad we had the experience xxx
