@@matthewlajeunesse149 what did you teach for the sample lesson? I'm sure you did well. Most people don't get invited to an interview, so the fact that you did says a lot about your qualifications.
I just want to say thank you for this video. I am currently applying and have a final interview on Friday with a program called Urban Teachers and I have no education experience. I'm a political science major with a minor in ethics and law and society, so I really have no idea how to create a 5 minute lesson plan and this was actually helpful on where to start.
@@Yelbasse I just did the interview so I’ll get a response on the 16th or around that date. But i had no preference out of their 3 locations so it’ll either be in DC, Baltimore, or Dallas.
Hi, I watched several videos on my desktop. Couldn't subscribe then or like. But I really like how well done they're. Right to the point. I will be interviewing next week. Atlanta.
@@Yelbasse it was great! Today the regions opened up and I’m supposed to choose about 10 regions I want to teach in. I’m just overwhelmed with which regions to choose lol.

I had my interview yesterday. I feel like I completely bombed it! I have never been so nervous during an interview in my life! I will know if I got in or not on March 12. They didn't ask me anything about my experience with kids or teaching (which I have a lot of), so I thought that was weird. It really felt like more of an interrogation haha. Hopefully I did okay! Your videos helped me prepare. I appreciate you posting! I plan to do the same if I get accepted.
Hi!! I have my interview tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous. Any tips considering you had yours yesterday? Any questions you could relay back to me that they asked so I can have an idea of what I'm dealing with? I hope you get in!!
@@laurenirvine1437 Hey there! it was a weird interview. Not bad, just weird. My interview didn't really ask me any questions about myself or my experience in the classroom. There were a lot of questions about goals, and education equity. After the demo lesson, he asked if I found out only a percentage of the students understood the lesson, what would I do to ensure everyone understood the lesson? He also asked when was a time I worked with a group to reach a goal? After my proposal, he asked what I would do if another teacher disagreed with it. He also asked how I would handle a parent disagreeing with it. Just breathe! You got this!
This is so interesting to me. Sounds like their interview process has become more rigorous. Those are excellent questions to ask because those are REAL teacher scenarios.
@@Yelbasse I've chosen to teach metals and non metals! So once a fellow here in TFI, you teach to almost 40 students from government or low income private schools for two years.

Any advise for those with poor handwriting? Do you think it would be okay to use a power point or switch between a power point and using the board for a virtual interview? Also, do you think sloppy handwriting will hinder a applicant? #Teach
That's a really good question. I prefer powerpoints as well. I actually didn't use any handwriting or the board at all. Mostly because there was no projector at my interview site. I printed a handout i created on Google docs. You could also write in big letters on Google docs the grade level, subject, and name. Then print it out and tape it to the board.
