    IDK how this isnt a recall. I just finished my cousin's 2005 Nissan Murano. This video saved me about 500 bucks. Thank you soo much. I ended up having to remove the wiper blades and panel off but that only added about 10 more minutes to my 2 and a half hour job. I just took it slow and went step by step along side with the video. Even someone with no mechanic background could do this job with this video. This deserves WAY more likes. You are the truth!

    Great video! After you fill the steering fluid reservoir, don't start the car yet to avoid possible damage to the power steering pump. While the car is still on jacks, leave the cap off the reservoir, insert the key and turn to the ON position but DON'T START the car. Turn the steering wheel slowly all the way to the left, and all the way to the right. You'll see some bubbles coming out of the reservoir. Repeat turning the steering 5 or 6 times or until there are no more bubbles. Top off the reservoir to the correct level if needed. Replace the cap.

    Just tackled the job on a 2009, it's a little different, its got a banjo bolt on both sides but the rest is the same.
    The video here is really good, the hardest part of the job for me was lining up the banjo bolts, so like he says in the video leave the brackets loose so you have more flex when you go to line banjo bolts.
    Other than that it would of took me half the time.

    This is a great instructional video. After watching it, I decided to do it myself and saved about $500. One correction after checking the service manual. The torque spec for the banjo bolt is not 6 ft-lb but 6 kilogram-meter, or 37-50 ft-lb.

    Great video my 06 murano had developed leaking from right side of engine somewhere,just a little dribble.
    Well I went to replace shocks /struts and noticed the right strut was blown out with fluid leaking out of it and thought there is my leak
    Problem solved. No leak was still there,I watched UA-cam vids which had me convinced it was the oil cooler seal behind the oil filter but now after hearing my power steering pump make noise then stops after adding fluid I’m now convinced this HP power steering line is it.
    Was just watching your video one more time and am about to go out jack it up and have a look then order or buy the part if I find evidence of it leaking. Seems torque spec on banjo bolt is low maybe it’s just loose lol.

    • @clinte14
      @clinte14 2 роки тому

      No, but be careful removing sensor from power steering line when off the car and use a new o-ring. The sensors are kinda pricey, for a DIYer it's not too much trouble to replace the sensor down the road if needed, it's the most accessible area of this whole job.

  • @BryanChance
    @BryanChance 5 років тому

    Nissan appears to be having power steering issues on the Murano from 2003 all the way to 2017. You'd think they have it figured out after 14 years. On the earlier models, the same power steering pump from the Altima is used on the Murano. That's a dumb decision by Nissan (or smart --trying to cut cost). The Murano is a lot heavier than the Altima.
