- Chloe sings and plays with The Shotgun Jazz Band during FQF 2016. James Evans picks up the trombone and Marla comments! I asked Marla to let Chloe sing a song, and this is the song Chloe chose.
Chloe is absolutely amazing
Simply put, this is great jazz.
Chloe Feorzano has an incredible amount of talent!
All of them give me the shivers
Pure gold. Chloe looks right at home and enjoying her new home! Beautiful playing... and singing!
I LOVE Chloe Feoranzo! What a huge bundle of talent in such a petite young lady. Thanks to The Shotgun Jazz Band for this performance.
+Junior Samples Fight you for her !!!
Yep, she's one of them good things in a small package kind of gals for sure. Me and her could find a lot to talk about out behind the barn. Yee Haw!
A truckload of kudos to James Sterling, Pops Coffee, RaoulDuke, DigitalAlexa and all the other video chroniclers of this amazing, glorious trad renaissance who enable those of us far from NOLA to enjoy it vicariously.
+Doug Miller Thank you for the comments Doug, but the pleasure is all mine. It is an honor to be mentioned with RaoulDuke, DigititalAlexa and Pops Coffee. I'll take the opportunity afforded by your response to expound on my experiences. It is amazing to me that this music, which was considered old and outmoded when I first listened to to it 60 years ago, is being embraced and played with such virtuosity by these talented YOUNG musicians in New Orleans who, almost to a man and woman, have migrated to the birthplace of jazz from all over the United States and the world. It is because of the folks you mentioned above that I have discovered this newest revival of traditional jazz. I am fortunate enough to be only a few hours drive from New Orleans and to be at a time in my life where I have the time and money to indulge my self in the music in its purest form. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to help spread the music to others who appreciate it. And for your information, Pops Coffee lives in Nottingham, England, plays cornet in jazz bands there, and writes a blog on traditional jazz. He still makes the pilgrimage to New Orleans even though he is in his late 70's. THAT is devotion to the music.
+James Sterling You're so right, James. Well put. (And thanks to Doug Miller, too.) As for me, music like this keeps me feeling young, though I doubt whether I'm up to making yet another trip to New Orleans next year.
+Doug Miller Well said Doug!!
Amen Doug ... I'm late to the show (mid 2017), first heard trad jazz on 78's on a big old Victrola in my Aunts 3rd floor room - later on a big old Philco radio in the late 40's .... THANKS you video angels !
Doug Miller
Love Chloe! Discovered her during a performance with the Tradstars. So good!
Jesus Christ, f(&*kin' amazing, shivers down my spine, fantastic musicians!,!!,!,!,!’
I've never seen James play trombone before. What a talent! And Chloe? Just fantastic. Marla always assembles a phenomenal line-up.
Indisputable... Divine... PERFECT... Bravo and Bravisimo... Special and Different MUSIC... Epic... Blues...
The two people that thumbs downed this video are completely miserable with their own existence because this is a totally brilliant performance!
A-FUCKIN-MEN
I grew up in a musically literate home with two parents who listened to an eclectic and wide ranging variety of music. My mother was a music teacher who began teaching me to play the piano when I was six years old. Although my father's favorite de-composer was some dead German musician named Ludwig von Beethoven (whom I am sure you have never, ever not heard of), he also enjoyed listening to both jazz and the blues. One of the things which I really like about UA-cam is the really wide variety of music which you can listen to. If both of my parents were still alive, I would be encouraging them to listen to music on UA-cam.
Whoaaaa.... this sweet, sweet sugar don't give me the blues, it's liftin' 'em! YEAH! Thank you SO much!
Beautiful...... Everyone plays very well. The singing is nice and bluesy too. Thank you
Hope to see more of Chole. thanks for showcasing her she is so talented and cute! :)
She is a superstar in the making and is in much demand. Unfortunately for us she will not be in New Orleans during my next scheduled trip during Carnival in February. She will be on tour with Postmodern Jukebox.
Thanks for the info, Yes the her future is bright, she can turn on her age group to this kind of music, would like to see a renaissance in Blues as well. Chole will be a superstar, she nice young lady as well:)
Great rendition! You're so lucky to have been able to record musicians demonstrably enjoying themselves for the pleasure of so many thousands of miles away!
Stanley Rooney BEAUTIFUL WORDS: "ENJOYING THEMSELVES" AND BRINGING HAPPYNESS TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS "MAR WORLD" !!!
Je découvre cette chanteuse à l'instant, quel choc ! Merci pour cette vidéo !
You are more than welcome for the video. I also just recently discovered Chloe. I walked into the Spotted Cat last January where she was playing and singing with The World's Finest Apples and I was blown away by her singing, playing and stage presence. ua-cam.com/video/NoJyKsm5iEQ/v-deo.html. Subscribe to my channel to see more of Chloe in the future.
Fabulous 👏👏👏👏🏴😁
Perfect!
Sweet!
Most people today think of "R&B" when you say "The blues," but this is the real deal. I first heard this on my mom's LP of Clyde McCoy in the early '60's, but this bunch burns it plumb to the GROUND!
Nossa !!!Amei, parabéns.
Que lindo.
I couldn't help smiling and tapping my foot all through that. I think I had a case of those sweet sugar blues.
Love it! Kudos to Mr. Evans on the transbone, too.
What a great performance! And to think young Chloe was playing her very first booked gig with The Shotgun Jazz Band, having moved home to New Orleans only a week or so before. Thanks so much for recording this, James.
Thank you Chloe, great vocal and I love your clarinet playing, great stuff.
Special shoutout to Chloe!
Pops Coffee I first saw her here on UA-cam when she was in high school in St. Louis, and a festival, or some such in California. She also then played a year with Pokey Lafarge, all over here, and Europe. A little while later is when she moved to NO. Always great on the clarinet and a much better singer now.
Yes, indeed, Daniel. I remember well being in The Spotted Cat with James Sterling when Chloe first appeared - a few days before this - and told us she had just moved to New Orleans and had not yet even had time to unpack most of her belongings: it was more important to her to get out and find somewhere to play!
Cain't I just vote EARLY an' OFTEN fo' this beautiful an' soul-stirrin' compellin' me as it is, as it is, ah love.
Outstanding job Ms. Chloe!!!
What a voice!
Baby you own this:)
Talented band. Great vocal.
How SWEET it is!
I really like Chloe.
Yes indeed! Don't we all?!!
You are all great musicians, no doubt. Chloe is a small woman, but a great performer.
just great music they feed of each other
She is incredible....a huge talent!
Love this band, quality musicians all round.
One of my favorite blues songs.Kudos to the horns!
Amazing singer. Amazing band. Wonderful.🇧🇷
Great musicians, great vibe, great sound, great video.
Потрясающе!
JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great group !!
Classy
I love the weird noises Marla and James conjure out of their instruments as much as Chloe's beautiful playing and forceful singing - tremendous performance all the way round.
Brilliant thanks doctor jazz
used to play this on trumpet
I hope i'm not the only one to notice a distinct resemblance in the "eyebrow action" of Chloe Feoranzo and the tuba player in the Galvanized Jazz Band
tremendo
Oh oh oh, she's GOOD!
Superbe j'adore bravo
die Pfeife die hier den Daumen nach unten gegeben hat, hat keine Ahnung von Musik.
Das ist grandios. Ich bin begeistert
Yes, there always seems to be one contrarian who has to give a thumbs down. He obviously doesn't recognize great music when he hears it.
Three thumbs down: the emblem of three sad lives. Little wonder they turned to your fine selection of jazz & blues recordings, James Sterling, but I guess some people are beyond consolation.
I've learned that some people get their kicks out of being contrary just for the sake of being contrary. Or maybe they were expecting Thin Lizzy! ua-cam.com/video/M7YWc8TSHYQ/v-deo.html Over 84,000 views as of now and only three thumbs down ain't bad for Chloe and The SJB.
Hey, Idiot - What the fuck aRE YOU TALKIN' 'BOUT????
Chloe Florancio is usually not that great in singing, but this time shes plain perfect ! A little surprise seeing Englishman sax on trombone !? I mean, what is going on here ? It is everybody plays what he catches at the moment ?! On top of that he is very good with that trombone. Cheers , it is Shotgun at its top !!!
Very enjoyable performance, the versatile mr james evans, but wow!- miss chloe feoranzo-superb!
Chloe, you are a superstar coming on for sure and fit just great here with Marla and the boys. Lots and lots of talent in the air all round
What a talent ! Sounds better than some bands that have the technical wizardry thrown at them.to make it palatable for the masses.
Papychat : "fou de new orleans" je me régale, vous ne pouvez pas savoir. Quel pied !
Clyde McCoy was the Cat.
Everybody COOKIN'! But then they always do.
Quelle voix envoutante ! Bien supérieure à celle de Shaye Cohn de Tuba Skinny ! C'est une pointure en tant que chanteuse de jazz (comme on dit en France).
Aaah! Shades of Clyde McCoy, without the gravel.
SUGAR QUEEN
Clyde McCoy
Nice CHICKEN
This is trad at the very best
