You had me on the edge of my seat when taking it apart, it looked quite complex and I could see another moment where cogs flew everywhere and the repair had to end!
Very interesting seeing the insides, quite a complicated Idea just for a toy really. Thanks so much for uploading, always enjoyable. PS: Peeling off the sticker had me laughing 😂
Hi Skyway73 thanks for the feedback. Hope you are doing well in these challenging times. I think that vid might even have been filmed before the infamous Missile Strike "Spectacular"... Otherwise I might have have not been so cavalier about it. Perhaps these mechanical games are not my forte :) glad you enjoyed the vid and my little sticker humour. As ever thanks for your continued feedback and support. I appreciate time isn't free and I value you donating your time to commenting. Cheers!
Watching you fix this it was almost word for word cut it off I said chop it off you said it just as to work not look good I said the same once its back together who will know how you fixed it A great repair video such a calm and relaxed voice
Thanks David. Great minds think alike. glad you enjoyed the video
Great video Retro Tech :-)
Thanks Vince. Really appreciate the support from a UA-cam Legend like yourself.
Hi new suscriber here thanks to My Mate Vince. Realy enjoyed the video as remember playing this game when I was a child, now 53 lol. Keep up the good work. Mick 👍🍻
Great to have you along! A fun game. I enjoyed the Demon Driver, mechanical games are not my strong point (Not that other repairs are either). Thanks for your comment. So glad Vince sent you my way.
Thanks for making this video, I've just bought a broken one of these on ebay and this was great to let me see in advance what I'll be dealing with inside. I've repaired plenty of Tomy toys before, mainly Space Turbos and similar, but this will be my first Demon Driver :) Depending on condition, I might fix it, or may convert it to play something more exciting :)
Thanks Neil. Very pleased you enjoyed the video.... as you may have seen I've had a fail or two with Tomy mechanicals too! Thanks for your comments. Really appreciated. Good luck with your repair
I remember having a kind of totally not the same but still fun driving game like that. This is so much cooler with the crashes and lapcounter. Time for this new sub to get to some binge watching. 👍🏻 very cool stuff dude
Hi glad you enjoyed the video. Do you remember the game that you had? I will watch out for it. Thanks so much for the sub and your comments
Mine was a mid 80s fun to drive dashboard by playmates with 1 looping road. The one you did here is better in so many ways although the dash was an actual dash haha
I really liked seeing the insides of this
Yeah, quite ingenious what Tomy did with these games, funny how in the late 70's it was presumably cheaper to make comples mechanical devices vs electronics. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks so much for your comments
I have this,original palitoy 1978,perfect condition
Wow I'd imagine ones in perfect condition are hard to find and quite valuable, especially if you have the box too.
@@RetroTechRepair have been looking online for valuation, not much info though
@@marlonr197 I haven't seen any valuation for such things I'm afraid. I've noticed on ebay prices seem to vary significantly. Not sure if it's a seasonal thing or not.
My cousin had one of these, I was so jealous!
Hi Kins, thanks for your comments. That's actually one of the reasons I started the channel, so I could own and experience things I wanted so much as a kid but couldn't or didn't have. It's grown since then to a kind of retro-recycle repair and pass on kind of thing, but originally it was about my childhood envy! Anyhow thanks again for your comments. Very much appreciated
@@RetroTechRepair And thank you for your videos, after seeing you on Vince's channel I'm working my way through them, relaxing Christmas viewing!
@@kins749 glad you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for your comments. Feedback really helps keep me motivated. Much appreciated.
Best fix: put in batteries 😂
As for the sticker: you could drench it in IPA, might come loose afterwards or give it a good bath in soapy warm water 👍
Thanks jochen... Yes the batteries help 🤣😆. I did get the sticker off eventually with IPA. Thanks so much for your comments. Hope you enjoyed the vid.
classic clacked gear but great fix on video
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks so much for taking the time to comment. It to me a little while to find the problem, but at least it went better than my attempts at missile strike repair
Nice one
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for your comment.
Good video
Thanks Faruk. Glad that you enjoyed it
What battery’s does it take does this game take please
I don't have the game to check anymore but from the video it looks like it needs two C-cells. Hope that helps l. Sorry for the delay responding
