You got some bargains there. Some of mine needed a bit of encouragement and TLC to start with. Proves the hobby can be enjoyed on a budget. One of the best cheaper controllers is the Hornby R965 worth looking out for. Regards Paul.
@@ooheaven8491 I saw some other peoples phots and was like that layout wasn`t there then in the comment thers a mentioooon of upstairs, but i never saw a sign anywhere, theres a train fair at spalding on the 20th
Completely agree with you, you can buy lovely oldtimers, even in the original box for a real bargain price, you just have to be patient and a bid handy in maintenance and some improving and creativity. I think I collected almost the hole steam engine series form Airfix on that base, and with maintenance, some low budget improvements, they even all run smooth and digital now on my track. And the biggest pleasure I had in this all, was doing the converting it self...
Good to get all that for around 2 bar. Some won't be happy as they want it all to be 100% modern standards, fidelity and detail; nothing wrong with that but if funds are an issue a bit of lower detail flavoured humble pie tastes pretty good, plus you don't feel like your rear end has been enlarged after buying a modern priced 4-6-2!

For me it's enjoying the hobby at a price I can afford,, I also like getting the older stuff to run again,,,
@@ooheaven8491 - Yeah defo. Feels good to tune an old banger to good operation. Newer stuff is also harder to service n repair sadly.
Love it
Thanks Joe
