Tawlet Ammiq (goo.gl/maps/ZWzVy4i8LuduWgqe6) - For lunch in Beqaa Valley, Lebanon, we went to Tawlet Ammiq, an amazing eco-restaurant that empowers the local community and serves a huge buffet of local Lebanese food. The atmosphere is spectacular and it was a great opportunity to see the food being prepared by the amazing women and then to taste each and every dish.
Lebanese Food Buffet - First on the buffet, they had the entire meze salad sections, with all the familiar Lebanese classics like hummus and labneh. But the hot food section included some regional specific dishes, as well as home-style Lebanese food that’s not always easy to find at restaurants. A few of my favorite dishes were the marinated and grilled trout, and the Aleppo style kebabs in cherry sauce.
Along with delicious food and the variety of Lebanese food, one of the highlights of eating at Tawlet Ammiq is amazing atmosphere under the trees and the view over the Beqaa Valley.
An amazing restaurant and place to visit when you’re in Lebanon.

A reminder to everyone: Lebanon is around 10.000 square Kilometers, or around 4.000 square miles. That is the size of Los Angeles metropolitan area. Population is around 5 millions. Very few places on earth offer such a diversity in such a small spot. If it wasn't for corrupt politicians and the usual middleastern problems, it would be heaven on earth. Thank you Mark for such an amazing visit and experience.
Yess!!
You could not have stated it any better Bro
Feeling is mutual here
Mark . You do not realize how much your videos are leaving such positive vibes and smiles from Lebanese and in general non arabic speaking viewers...we love this attention lol ..that we otherwise would not get in mainstream media
It's educational .fun to watch. My friends at work from all different cultures just love watching these vids ...and they kinda appreciate where am from now.
God bless you and your family
Will definitely recommend this place to my family backhome and inshala when I travel ...I like to go there as well with family
It used to be the called the diamond 💎 of the Middle East! That was before my time! Hard to believe such a beautiful place can’t rise like before or even better!
Hi buddy I agree with you Lebanon is one of the most beautiful places on earth Lebanese people even through the hard times they are classy nice people .
Swash Bucklin you don’t help with your hatred and mindset!
The less people like you the more wars and issues this world has!
i pray that outside forces may stop interfering with Lebanon, i hope this country is left alone to prosper in peace, Lebanon is such a beautiful country full of hardworking people and now hosting many refugees from Syria and Palestine, i hope to visit this great country, thanks Mark wien for highlighting the good side of Lebanon.

One of the problems with getting older is that I can't eat as much as I could when I was younger. But there's a great solution - watch a Mark Wiens video and he does most of the eating for me!!! Seriously, though, this Lebanese series has been a real eye-opener. Superb food, spectacular scenery and loads of friendly people. Kebabs in cherry sauce...what an inspiring idea! And to the people of Lebanon, whatever your religion, I wish you peace and prosperity! Cheers, Keith (Brit in Berlin).
Wish you the same, Ketih!
thank you keith! i wish it all goes back to you as well

vous avez raison moi aussi avec mon age je n peux que regarder les autres manger
Agree with you there Keith, where I live in the UK is not really that much diversity compared to options in a city. I love seeing the different food cultures shown in these videos, have often heard good recommendations of Lebanese food and it looks so healthy and good, plenty of vegetarian options to. I feel the Lebanese, Uzbek and Jerusalem seem to have the most interesting food.
I wish Mark would stay in Lebanon for a year only making one video after another, what a beautiful country, amazing food and friendly people.
I’m happy with how clean that kitchen is, that’s amazing one of the cleanest restaurant kitchens I’ve seen
Me, too. I love clean.
taghrid halabi YES!! I love love that
Well its a 5 star hotel, not street stall
It's so clean because these beautiful womens come to cook here and they treat this kitchen as their house it's a community driven restaurent so all the food is home made food
Because its a women run business....and women do better in hotel business.
OMG! I want to travel to Lebanon...and eat at this restaurant. Wonderful.

Taylor Simone hi i am looking for travel buddy
That's a very cool place! Love Lebanon! 😋🌶🇺🇸
We love u too
The Bekaa valley is simply a magnificent region and extremely rich in history . It literally makes Greece and Rome pale, as it’s a region that has been home to seven of the world great civilizations, the Phoenicians, the Assyrians, the Egyptians, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans and the Arabs. My Lebanese host family ( with whom I stayed when I was studying Arabic at the American University of Beirut) took me on a tour to Zahlé, Baalbek ( the City of the Sun or Heliopolis as the Greeeks called it) and the wine country. We visited world renowned ‘Caves’ like the Caves of Ksara and Château Kefraya which organizes historical sessions explaining the genius civilization of the mysterious Phoenicians who brought
and introduced the technique of wine making to the Egyptians, the Persians and the Greeks. The irony is that the Greeks and Romans are the ones associated with the culture of winemaking, where in reality the Phoenicians were among the first to ferment grape juice and to spread wine culture around the entire Mediterranean Sea, even reaching the Port of Marseille. Wrecks of two Phoenician vessels were found in the Mediterranean Sea in 1999 with hundreds of wine amphorae on board, evidencing that the wine from the Lebanese terroir has been appreciated for thousands of years. The Phoenicians were simply genius people for discovering that aging wine in amphora , it allows a regular micro oxygenation of the wine, just like oak barrel, but unlike wood, the terracotta it is made of is a neutral material that doesn’t bring exogenous aromas to the grapes. Hence the high reputation of Phoenician wine throughout the Mediterranean world. That’s why Lebanon makes exquisite wines that goes so well with the unparalleled Lebanese gastronomy. Luckily, we get to taste it in excellent Lebanese restaurants in Oslo. Greetings from Norway
Fjord Hellas great read
Lebanese people don't drink wine though because they are Muslims...
@@-jank-willson wtff bruhh literally 30-40% of the population is christian and I can assure a lot of muslims drink alcohol because they aren't really religious

Wowzers....that buffet looked amazing and divinely delicious! 😮
Mark you still got 2 huge dishes to taste in Lebanon, if you haven't eaten those, you haven't eaten anything!
1- Warak Enab but stuffed with rice and meat, with lamb meat and bones on top.
2- Ghammeh + Rass/Mkadim (intestines, stomach, legs and head of sheep)
Kamel will explain 😁
Plus try to visit the mini islands in El Mina (Tripoli) and spend a day at Palm Island, it's a natural reserve here in El Mina.
If you would like some religious hiking also, you can visit Hamatoura (Orthodox Monastery), it's a 30 to 45 minutes hike, in Koussba, El Koura (20 minutes from Tripoli), a very calm place (in the Kadisha Valley as well) and you can have a taste of the monks' food prepared mostly from their own garden.
So happy with your series in Lebanon ❤
It seems Lebanese food is the best cuisine out of all Middle Eastern countries :)
No all middle east food is good and you have also to try the Moroccan food amazing
No Lebanese food is the best cuisine in the world
@@karicreme7478 since one Morocco is in middle east?
Indeed
The best food all over the world
after my country Iran I love Lebanon, people, food, culture, everything, I wish I could see these two one day
There is no doubt that Middle Eastern food satisfies every taste
Unfortunately that is not the case all the time
Its Mediterranean food not Middleastern
@@nefnaf96 it's middle eastern food.
we have some weird foods in the middle east, but most countries that fight for (best cuisine) are located on the Mediterranean shores, we have France, Italy, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Morocco.
OMG! Food heaven, Mark please take me with you. Beautiful place.
Lebanon make me complete hungry nixes views and asowe food delicious thanks Mark and Lebano
You done more for Lebanon than any one in their history!
you can't export this type food, people have to come to taste it.
it would suite all people, secular or followers of most religions (they even have Buddhists and Hindus in the Parliament), there are great places for partying and drinking too if praying isn't your thing.
I feel like Lebanon makes Humus and foul better than any other countries. I don't know ..by the look at it, you can feel the taste of it .... just wonderful......... i feel so relax by watching Mark food tours video.

This may be the best looking buffet I have ever seen! If I were ever lucky enough to travel this is on my bucket list. One of my favorite parts was everyone relaxing and napping after the meal. Just wonderful!
Good morning mark, watching the woman cook in that commercial kitchen was so cool. The food looks fantastic, you got to try many varieties of delicious meals. The desserts were my favourite 🤤😍. Great video as always
FitAngie 😍😍❤️❤️
I love lebanese cuisine and food! Very similar to greek food, they're both mediterranean countries besides with the only difference that in Greece we don't use so much tachini in our food or sauces, but I love it-especially combo with honey and on the side olives and pickled peppers and some raki or tsipouro or arak I think it is called in Lebanon.Anyway..I'm so jealus of these stuffed grapeleaves!! I'm gonna force my mother to cook them this week haha Love your videos Mark!!
Spicys are different in every country ,its amazing how you can test all the dishes ,that shows ,you have a big big respect for every culture keep it up Mark you made my day always when you release your video 🙏.
What an epic journey you've been on in Lebanon. You keep pumping out the videos. I have really enjoyed watching them all. Cheers!!
Lebanese food is the best. I knew a Lebanese woman who loved to feed me and I learned so much about food, cooking, and Lebanese culture from her.
I am pretty impressed that ASID helped find this series. It is a valuble record of the agricultural history of a foodie's paradise.

My paternal grandparents were from Lebanon. This is the first time I've ever seen some of th foods grandmom (Sitte) used to cook for us on our Sunday visits . Wow...what memories. I think a visit to Nadimos on Silom road is in the cards this week. Thanks for bringing back memories
Everywhere Mark travels and eats there’s evidence of inward investment from the Lebanese diaspora. I hope conflict doesn’t return to Lebanon - it looks fabulous.
“Good morning, I hope you’ve had an amazing day” - this always brightens my day.
The foods looked very exotic. I would love to try it, especially the dessert.
What a cool concept all around, from employment/ownership co-op, local flavors, farm to table and community in a beautiful location... love it. Food all looks yummy too.
Wow I am a Lebanese and you've been places I haven't even heard of. So even as a local, thank you for visiting, showing me parts of my beloved country. I hope Lebanon leaves you with only beautiful memories. Cheers Mark

As a Lebanese man living in America (NY) all my life & growing up in an adopted Italian family, and eating the best Italian homemade food & all the city & Brooklyn have to offer, I can without any reservations say that there is nothing I have ever eaten that is as delicious as Lebanese food cooked correctly. In fact, the 5 favorite dishes I've ever eaten are Lebanese. And my favorite dessert is Mahalabia (Milk pudding with ground Pistachio's, Rose water & a drizzle of honey on top if desired). When I go to Heaven all I'll ever need is God, & Lebanese food : )
