If Gwen kept that car in very good condition it would be worth quite a bit today. In the late 1970's my next door neighbor's daughter was on the Price is Right and won a dining set, and a car. The transport, and taxes, on the car were so expensive that she ended up just selling it, then paid the prize tax. She was on vacation and went to the PIR, lived across the country from where the show was taped.

Guessing VW didn't have the rights to use the RR logo or hood ornament and just copied the front-end grille. Wonder if RR licensed that style "appropriation" or sued VW over it?

I suppose you could call that the Rolls Royce of Beetles. I can't find another one like it on Google.
That is the most unique Beetle I've ever seen. It's funny how they tried to make one of the cheapest cars back then look fancy.
There was a kit sold that one could buy to add to the VW too.
Reminds me of Cheech and Chongs next movie, where Chong has the Beetle with the Rolls Royce grill 😏
