- An After Effects tutorial on how to make a realistic bubbling lava animation. we'll learn how to generate and animate a noise pattern, color it to make it look like fire, create a 3D texture effect for the rocky areas, add an intense heated glow, and use the lava to warp text.

omg I love how you just show the effect, and jump straight into the tutorial. I have gotten so used to just skipping past all the bullshit it's great to feel like you respect the viewers time
Glad it's appreciated! Sometimes it's best to get straight to business :)
And with this, you have truly become the current generation's VideoCopilot. Thanks for the video!
Fr .... I miss The Kramer vids😔
I like how Ben explains the process in a logical way
Thanks so much!
I like how ben gives off a manly musk and i wish he was with me
The fucking master.
Yooooo! I have watched some of the tutorials and they are pretty useful! I'll definitely reffer to this channel for help with after effects! :D
PS, I'm also working on a big project and school isn't helping at all with the project and I thankfully stumbled onto this channel for some shortcuts and tips! 👀
0:06 what are all the effects on the text ‘An after effects tutorial’
I have a wiggle(12,1) on the position for the shake and the same glows as the lava :)
FYI: Scientists use the term magma for molten rock that is underground and lava for molten rock that breaks through the Earth's surface.
found out the plastic cc actually can be used for something, was messing around trying to create like a water type intro and made it into a liquid metal type animation where if you keyframe the surface bump "cut min" value from like 0-100 for like the first 100 frames of ur comp, you can get a "unmelting" type animation/transition as a cool opener if you are trying to create a neat intro. never thought that id learn as i work but i did, so thanks ben for doubting a property so i could investigate hahah! ps i saw the last of us video and using this + cartoon and find edges will give u that re grown and die and regrow of those viens from the last of us title sequence.
Mine looks like the pudding surprise my Gran would serve it had egg in it plus some beetroot I hate to think and we'd have to eat it or catch it in the ear but I appreciate the tut and will try again. Shit sorry forgot to like did it now because your tuts are fantastic
Lahore da pawa Akhtar Lawa 😂😂😂😂😂
Ben, are you alright? You don't sound like your cheery self. Lol, I've realized I'm mostly watching your videos to learn but your voice also keeps my head clear. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Had no idea you can use posterize time as an expression, so cool!
I really have anything I need to make lava... but after watching this, I'm going to find something!
Ben You are a best creator 👍
Thanks so much for the support!
I've stacked glows in my project, and now my pc suddenly started to glow. Ig now Ae could deliver the project irl.
Another great tutorial Benjamin
Why thankyou good sir :)
This is amazing!
yeah, this is epic as lava in 90s in low budget PS1 games :D
Thx a lot Ben, im from Mexico and there's no after fx content creators in spanish language and u are so clever with your content! thanks again.
This is awesome. thanks man
Would this also work with a PNG logo?
Great video as always, Ben. For the first example of text, wouldn't it be easier to just create the text in white and use the Difference blending mode instead of duplicating the noise effect? That might also reduce the render time by not running a second instance of the same effect.
amazing! love the final with the text. I want to use it as asset for a stop motion lava
Great tutorial 😊😊
