They were the British prisoners who built the original glider in Colditz Castle ..I'm sure I saw the bigger guy talking about escaping by cutting the barbed wire .We stayed in Colditz Castle 2 years ago .Did the full tour with Steffi the fantastic guide.Great time it was.Goldfinch and Best were their names and 12 assistants helped them steal and make all the pieces to build it.
I used to think this was an incredible story, now I just think it was like most wartime yarns mere propaganda, the idea that they could gather the materials to build a false wall that big or knock out a wall that thick to feed it through is rather unbelievable, the chaps did well to keep up the act all those years but their body language and details when probed by true aviation experts betrayed them imo
