I love how you essentially cater to all skill levels within 1 video. I imagine it increases your viewership immensely. Personally, I found the jazz chord breakdown fascinating! Thank you
My first video from this guy, but this is the best guitar video I've seen in a long time! So much there, it'll take me a year to digest; but really great stuff!
Exceptional. Such a well presented lesson, straight to the point but with a friendly tone and great clarity. Your lessons never fail to impress me. Keep up the good work Jules. Thank you so much.
The only problem is that you are so good that i come to your channel and end up listening to you playing rather than playing myself. GREAT job Jules. One heck of guitar player
Dear Sir I wanted to comment to thank you for providing such a fantastic lesson on this concept. It really open my eyes and addressed many of my frustrations on the guitar. This is a gem of a lesson.👍
Thank you for this great lesson! There is a lot of information here. The way you put these chords together into a practical musical “set” is so helpful in knowing how to use each of these chords. Awesome lesson! Thank you!
Honestly, this Guy is the COOLEST! I continue to get such interesting & helpful Info & Tips each & every Video I watch! SO grateful to have found Jules thru all the YT Noise ! JBC - NYC
I genuinely look forward to every lesson you post because I know it’s going to be insightful and practical and will make me a better guitarist. Thanks for your continued stellar work!
Thanks a lot. This video is theoretically and experimentally above my newbie head and hands, for now. I watched because I was curious. Jules, you taught the neat C shape possibilities very well! I'll come back to it. Thank you for showing the uses within different music genres.
I'm not an advanced player but I bet I can fit this in somewhere when I want to sound like I know something about Jazz. ---- I had to go back to catch the "END ALL 69's" idea. I almost missed that one - great touch. You also made me have to go back and re-visit tritones, thanks a ton.
Excellent video. This is a great lesson for beginners, but also for intermediate and advanced guitar players. There is a great deal of interesting potential with these chord shapes. And when you use a capo you get even more interesting sounds.
Jules - amazing lesson! You have given me enough ideas to fill up my next month of practicing - thanks so much. BTW your lessons are quickly becoming my favorite on YT - keep up the good work!
I'm new to chords, as I went straight to scales, but I started using my ear to hear out extra additions or tweaks to the C shape and found some of these naturally. Of course it helps to understand the nomenclature, like 7, add 9 etc. but I've gotta learn CAGED or something; so much you can do with these shapes. Big cheers to you.
That first open C movable chord with the G on the high E string is essentially what Steve Howe moved around the neck in the Wurm outro section of Yes's Starship Trooper but he muted out the A string and played the G on the low E instead.
I've just found your channel - fantastic tutorials. Brilliant - really well explained - this is exactly what is missing from sites like Guitar Tricks! Looking forward to watching more videos! Thank you!
This is SUCH A GOOD video. incredible. Truly. I would so much hope and appreciate if you can do a deep dive into all the other open chords (CAGED shapes) and show advanced ideas of how to use them (like the G chord, the A, the E) etc... Would you mind doing that for the rest of them? Truly a great video. I'll watch it a few times.
Great concepts overlooked by many! BTW, it's customary to call those C7add9 as simply C9 as dominant 9th chords typically include the flat 7th. If you have a straight major chord and add just the 9th, then it is C add 9. Same with the minor chords.
I will have to come back to this one.Excellent video, well presented, and even though it is beyond my level , fascinating to watch and listen thank you.
Great lesson Jules!!! Loved the more sophisticated chords.. learned a lot & will add the immediately to use!! Thanks! Keep these similar eyeopening lessons coming👍.
Great reaction! Has to be nightwish for both of you next! Start with ghost love score live at wacken 2013. It's an absolute must, you will both love it!
Thank you so much Jules! Your tutorials are insane💯👍The only problem i have: I can't follow you that fast because the boxes you blend in are mirrored 😅
Hi Jules, brilliant channel but is it possible to show your diagrams the correct way as most guitar video channels do.. ie mirrored? I get confused by them, has anyone else commented about this?? Hope you understand what I’m trying to say..cheers
I’m American and I MUCH prefer the “parallel” diagram, that Jules uses, as opposed to the “mirrored” (upside down) diagrams of chord shapes. That way, the finger placements in the diagram match exactly what I’m seeing his hands doing, without having to flip things mentally to match how I view my own fingerboard which is upside down from my vantage, up here in my head where I normally keep my eyeballs. That upside down flip has bothered me and slowed me down ever since I began learning over 40 years ago. What’s “up” to you is “down” for me, visually, when they’re mirrored (upside down) in the tab. It never made sense to me. I do wish the fret lines in the diagrams were a little bit wider however, but that’s just because my eyesight ain’t what she use to be and the narrow fret lines get blurry and lose contrast. This is an awesome lesson BTW! I’m going to have to watch it several times.
Great pedagogic move to use the C chord enhance the harmonic options. A question: what modell guitar is used and svettnings and gear creating that clear tone/ sound? Keep up the good work!
Damn, you make the best guitar videos. Nice, concise, no waffle, clearly explained. Thank you. A great west-country video.
Agree buddy 👍👌💯🎸🎸
I love how you essentially cater to all skill levels within 1 video. I imagine it increases your viewership immensely. Personally, I found the jazz chord breakdown fascinating! Thank you
You are incredible! Thanks!

Thank you Master Jules🤗Cool🎼🎵🎸
Thanks Jules loved your lesson particularly the Jazz chords and the way you used them BRILLIANT 👍
The sliding down the neck is what Steve Howe of Yes uses to finish Starship Trooper. 1:22
Jules your lessons are by far the best I have seen on this You Tube channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
M8 you are the best. I am an intermediate player but it is still fun watching you and take what we can.
Thanks a lot. This video is theoretically and experimentally above my newbie head and hands, for now. I watched because I was curious. Jules, you taught the neat C shape possibilities very well! I'll come back to it. Thank you for showing the uses within different music genres.
best teacher on UA-cam!!!! Thank you!!!
Just...... beautiful!! Incredible how you manage to put so much knowledge in such a short video. Thank you.

Self guided 2year study this is really helpful and inspiring. Thanks tons!

Wow! What a great lesson. It really opens up a lot of possibilities

Excellent info for beginners and intermediate alike and very well explained and very nicely played with great clarity
You are an amazing teacher. Thanks for this lesson. Loved the easy breakdown explanations for the chord extensions.
Fascinating walk through the notes and you are my inspiration presently.
I can hear you , same here !
That first open C movable chord with the G on the high E string is essentially what Steve Howe moved around the neck in the Wurm outro section of Yes's Starship Trooper but he muted out the A string and played the G on the low E instead.
Well done Jules! You are a great teacher, thank you so much for this video!
Your absolutely right. I also believe how the guitar strings are tuned and the c chord has to do with hand anatomy.
Brilliant as usual - Thank you Jules
bravo - lots of practice material to review again and again.
I've just found your channel - fantastic tutorials. Brilliant - really well explained - this is exactly what is missing from sites like Guitar Tricks! Looking forward to watching more videos! Thank you!
It helps if you have long, skinny fingers to play those chord progressions.
You are the best teacher!
Thank you once again Jules for another wonderful video. Cheers!
This is SUCH A GOOD video. incredible. Truly. You can move all of those open chords around the neck. And what you do to the FIRST string, you can also do to the SIXTH string.
Great concepts overlooked by many! BTW, it's customary to call those C7add9 as simply C9 as dominant 9th chords typically include the flat 7th. If you have a straight major chord and add just the 9th, then it is C add 9. Same with the minor chords.
Bravo mr Jules
Thanks Mate. Your really good. Appreciate it. Love the guitar and the color. 😎🙌👋👋💯🎸🎸. I agree with comments below. Great content and videos 👍👌💯
You have a good video here. I love it. Bringing me joy! Thank you.
I will have to come back to this one.Excellent video, well presented, and even though it is beyond my level , fascinating to watch and listen thank you.
A super lesson! Thanks Jules.
Lmao when you put them all together...Goo Goo Dolls!
Zabardast cheers from Canada...
Bloody brilliant!
You never disappoint!! Great lesson!!
At 1:23…. You are the first person I ever heard play that G shape…… coincidently, two weeks ago I wrote a song that starts with that chord. 🎸🇨🇦
Your videos are fantastic
Great lesson Jules!!! Loved the more sophisticated chords.. learned a lot & will add the immediately to use!! Thanks! Keep these similar eyeopening lessons coming👍.
Its spreads across the fingerboard, rooted on the strongest sounding string found on the guitar its natural intended range. Add reverb and it's over
Fantastic lesson!
Great Lesson...Thanks!
What a great lesson. Cheers
My only guitar lesson was the c chord. I was congratulated for learning the guitar after that
Wow , great lesson, thanks for sharing
Great lesson...all meat no fat
Very nice lesson!
Excellent lesson !! So much informations to improve yourself !! Thanks a lot !!
I feel like I should be drinking a Gin martini! Well done sir. You've got a lot of talent for sure. Thanks for the journey!
Super cool…. I needed this type of inspiration. Thanks
Great reaction! Has to be nightwish for both of you next! Start with ghost love score live at wacken 2013. It's an absolute must, you will both love it!

Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Bro.
Your are cool and your lessons rock!
Those 7th add 9 chords i thought they were just called 9th chords-the one shown at 6:09 especially. or do they mean the same thing?
Fender man Approved!
Such good stuff, enjoyed your presentation.
Most excellent sir
Nice informative vid we learn every day 👍
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Amazing yet again
Wow, neat stuff. I guess now I have something to do tonight!🎉

Excellent video!!!! I have been well educated. Thanks
Great lesson. Thanks.
I'm a piano player. I've played in C many times. Some people label only the C keys lol (I label all mine)
Good lesson😊
Thank you so much Jules! Your tutorials are insane💯👍The only problem i have: I can't follow you that fast because the boxes you blend in are mirrored 😅
Hi Jules, brilliant channel but is it possible to show your diagrams the correct way as most guitar video channels do.. ie mirrored? I get confused by them, has anyone else commented about this?? Hope you understand what I’m trying to say..cheers
No
Thank you, this was very insightful!
Very interesting. I just wish you put the chord diagram on the right bottom upside down like a regular tablature
I’m with you can we just do one tab style. Or give them a different name as this is Australia style or northern hemisphere style.
Thanks. That was great.
Well he does give you a lot of inspiration here and you can work it out
Its fine. The chord diagram matches the view of hos fingering.

Superb

thank you so much for this - you got a new subscriber in me
Fantastic lesson! I have the exact same guitar. Love mine, how do you feel about yours?
Wow nice tutorial
He knows a thing or two does this bloke
Great channel. Thanks
I think the most beautiful chords on guitar are c maj 7 to f maj 7
I like it! Great explanation!
Subscribed!
While the C major scale is the mother of all scales, the C major chord is the mother of all chords.
Great pedagogic move to use the C chord enhance the harmonic options.
A question: what modell guitar is used and svettnings and gear creating that clear tone/ sound?
Keep up the good work!
Very cool
Cheers
Way ahead of me, but very pretty!😊

the C chord pretty much made me quit guitar. this guys channel is bringing me back.
