I'M 77 years old. Listen to a whole lot of rock and roll. This, in my opinion, is the best of them all.
Lester voice is epic. Powerfully cool. Chambers Brothers were truley one of America's treasures.
In 1968...the Chambers Bros were the 'house band' at legendary NY club The Electric Circus on St Marks Place.... they pioneered a new 'black rock' sound blending urban R & B, blues, hard rock, psychadelic acid rock and southern gospel. This was delivered in a free spirited style affecting anyone in range!!! They did a few sets of high voltage entertainment...always ending that summers Saturday nights with 'Time Has Come Today' !!! Any body that saw them can never forget!!!
Ironic that the next year 1969 as The Chambers Bros. went touring America....the next band to become the club house band was Sly & The Family Stone from San Francisco.... all i can say is Wow!!!!
This is a great commentary. 1968. Everyone says 1969 on the song. Maybe album wise. Thanks for sharing
My Respect.
Their lyric I HAVE NO HOME. How true do these words ring when homelessness among our vets is at AN ALL TIME HIGH! The theatre of the absurd has become our new reality. Time has come Today!
This is the most powerful rock song ever recorded.
I dont know about that .........but it is very good.
Wolf Wickham yes.
Definitely one of my favorites!
Yes , it is !
Flat out!!!
When you're simply the best at what you do, and still kick major ASS at 80, I"d call that amazing.
One of the most overlooked bands of their generation. I think slowly people are starting to appreciate them
Been around since 1955!!
The sixties in ten minutes.
This band inspired me to join Rock Bands..every lyric to this Classic is 100% True as a Child growing up in the 60’s..✌️🌹🙏🏻
Damned if this doesn't sound as good or better than when they were originally together.
It really does. His voice is great for Rock - too bad we didn't hear more of it with faster types style blues/rock.
There are certain performers who create a piece of music that is "timeless". This is a song that was at the center of a culture never before seen nor will it ever again. A mix of conflicts, patriotism and the "love" movement made this the vortex of the 60's and protesting the Vietnam War. We were united in everyway but especially, the music. I consider The Chambers Brothers, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix to be the greatest American music of my generation.
And they actually made some money on it this time.
Kenny, is this your fam? Or is the name just coincidence?
They still good.
Chambers Brothers STILL so POWERFUL TODAY! Even more charismatic and electrifying! You can feel it in your bones!
11qyq6qyyy6u71-love these BROTHERS! Just as I remember , (or at least I think I remember)! weren't the 60s the best ?
@@ericmoraski9102 The 60s were the best. We were young with our lives ahead of us.
Man, I bet their grand-kids were shocked when they saw this and what grandpa can do
One of the few "anthems" of my generation. Great, fantastic and fabulous.
It really jams don't it? What a performance!
Hot Fucking Damn! This performance is stunning on many levels. They must be the most soulful psychodelic rockers ever. The guitar jam in the middle reaches a groove that is hard to describe- but tears started welling up in my eyes. Very powerful.
It captures the emotion of the Viet Nam era. Subsequent Military "Adventures" have purposely suppressed this type of social commentary, and has gone far in turning Americans into sheep.
This version is great! I have the vinyl record. One of my favorite songs of all... TIME!
The best soul-psychedelia group ever. Living proof, right here.
I must’ve watched this 40 times. Each time I wish I was there.
fifty-some years ago my generation believed in love and so much more for humanity. music such as this and from many other bands of that era will stand as a testament.
And That, boys and girls is how its done. Straight ahead freakin rock..... Havent been privileged to see much better live.
Thanks to my Dad for turning me on to the Chamber Brothers!!!!!
I love This, brings back so many beautiful memories. I have 4 or 5 albums that I Still listen to. Favorite Memory is that OurcFather took my Brother and I to see them Back THEN😮😊😅😂. He was born 1929 and we were born 1961 and '62 . We were the youngest in the audience during the age of Aquarius and Peace lovevand efforts of freedom. Longhairs and Afros Cooling out together giving my Lil Brother and I the Peace Sign and Thumbs up. ✌ The young kids are getting righteously "Psychodelicized" ❤
Such an underrated band of the late 60's - '70's. Too bad they got shafted by those in the music industry. An epic sound that will never be repeated in music .. Thank you for your incredible tunes .
I grew up with this song. It still grows in me. Always loved it.
never mind dont' fear the reaper. this is the greatest cowbell song in history.
No messing around............every bit if not better than the original.
Hope these guys are still alive! Keep that classic rock alive!!!!
Just as relevant now as it was when it first came out, goddamn right, Time Has Come Today. . .
0 dislikes, damn right, restores my faith in humanity. Absolutely love these brothers, authors of the greatest song of the 1960's, IMHO.
Sorry to say,but as of 3/25/19 there are 3 people that are clueless! I'm not one of them!♡
" It takes all kinds to make a world... Some People are born to stupefy. ""
This is one of the greatest songs EVER!!!! Kick-ass! I am a child of the 60s and this song is so cooler today than when I first heard it! Love the Chambers Brothers!
oh. my. god.
time has come for lester, willie, joseph, george AND brian to be inducted into the so-called rock & roll hall of fame, dammit.
there should not have to be websites petitioning for their inclusion.
IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN BUT DAM SURE SHOULD HAPPEN, THE RNR HALL OF FAME HAS BECOME VERY LAME OVER THE YRS AND POLITICS HAVE KEPT THIS GREAT GROUP OUT FOR REASONS I DONT KNOW BUT ANY GROUP THAT WRITES A SONG OF THIS MAGNITUDE THAT HAS HAD SUCH AN IMPACT SHOULD BE INDUCTED INTO THE RNR HALL OF FAME, MAYBE IT WILL HAPPEN AFTER A COUPLE OF THEM ARE DEAD, MY GUESS IS THAT WHEN THE GROUP IS DOWN TO THE LAST LIVING MEMBER IS WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN, I READ SOMETHING A LONG TIME AGO THAT THE OLDEST BROTHER WAS BORN IN 1931, MY GUESS IS THAT HE IS THE BASS PLAYER AS HE LOOKS THE GRAYEST OUT OF ALL OF THEM, OTHER THAN THAT THE OTHERS WERE BORN IN THE YRS 1938,1940,1942 AND R.I.P BRIAN KEENAN BORN IN 1943
@@theanswerisinthebackofyourhead it says that Brian Keenan was 42 when he had a heart attack in 1985. I do know more recently, the RRHoShame has allowed classic singles into the hall. But whose definition of classic is probably the same rules and a group being nominated or put in the hall of shame.
@@Planktontwo YOUR PREACHING TO THE QUIOR
The R&RHoF is a farce. Far too many of the best bands get in years after they should have- if they do.
I totally agree,I've said this long time ago.But we have Madonna in the hall of fame, are you kidding.
BIG DADDY'S PIPES ARE LIVE AND WELL!!! Time has come today!!!
I'm back three months later and WOW here I go back in time again!!!
WOW!!! What an absolutely STUNNING performance of an American legendary classic from my youth. Very well done, Chambers Brothers, and white dude on the drums👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸. Thank you!!!

This song's sense of meaning and purpose has reemerged and is needed in our time more then ever!!!
Bands like this don't exist anymore. Dudes are in their 70s and 80s rockin out like this 💜💜💜💜
Enjoy this Master Piece and Classic from the 1960s!!!
Just like Grand Funk Railroad, come back and do better than the 1ST Time, that's just awesome!
it does not happen often...but this take, is as good as, perhaps better, than the original...stunning vocal, middle 8 tight, brilliant vibe...and the cats are 40 years older???
jeff jodoin closer to 50 years older!! and you are absolutely right, I was figuring on some sort of train wreck, but goddamn was I wrong! they absolutely KILLED it! fantastic!
My favorite cowbell tune!
A+ for Brad and straight to the Top of the Class!
I was thinking the same thing...
We need MORE COWBELL!
One of the Greatest rock songs ever. Ever.
An absolutely awesome version of this timeless song! These men were an important part of our youth. I appreciate them more in my older age. Such a shame they were screwed over by the big record companies. No surprise there...
one of the many great tunes that made the 60's so fun to grow up in. music that inspired change.
ROCK n ROLL DADDY-O ! ✌
Like so many others back in the day, "My soul got psychedelicized". Still grooving after all these years. Keep on Trucking. Thanks for the 'flashback'. Cheers.
This is a masterpiece.
One of the greatest rock songs of the seventies!!! Keep on rocking, my Brothers!!
The time has come rock and roll hall of fame for the brothers there are things to realize this is one
Wow. Just wow. I saw them do this song in the 60s in Phoenix at the Veteran's Coliseum. I think they just got better with age.
They have!
Lucky!
First heard this song in 1969. I still listen to it, over and over again, to this day. Thank you Chambers Brothers. And Brian Keenan, wow, what a drumming you did on quite possibly the greatest "long song" ever!!!
Zo Glo I am also a drummer and I agree great song and fantastic drums
Hey Dan. Thanks for response. Rock on !!! Zo
listen to this(and the whole album)all the time.REALLY want to see another reunion.Come on
Chambers Bros.do a tour
Unfortunately Brian died really young 45 I think. Heart attack. Was a great drummer
It’s such a shame how the music ‘industry’ and record companies screwed these guys. They were, and still are, one of the legends of rock music. ❤️👍✌️
Was the Gulf of Tonkin for a 1967/68 deploy and this was a BALLAD to us! FJB!🇺🇸
WOW WOW WOW! Really nice job! his vocals doesnt sound like he is 30+ years older! What a great great song from a great period in music
you know.....I'm thinking to myself these old washed up fools won't pull this off. Man was I impressed. His voice sounds exactly like the original recording. My hat off to ya Chamber Brothers!
This is Epic !!!!!!
THANKS FOR THE AWESOME VIDEO, THEY SOUND GREAT, IF WILL FERRELL WAS THERE, HE COULD PLAY MORE COWBELL, LOL, COUSIN FIGEL
A classic song if there ever was one!
Among the 5 most significant songs of the late 60s, at least in America. I love the sense of humor in this video about how progress gets "bogged down."
I fell in love with this song when I was in the 8th grade. I used to jam to this thing so loud, my parents would have a fit. WHAT A VOICE and what a song. The beat is contagious. THE SONG IS a legendary hit.
My self and very special friend of mine.Saw this group .with Canned Heat..one beautiful smoke filled club.in Baltimore Maryland..1972
It was.
Time to come.
My dissertation anthem. Thank you, Chambers Brothers
Wow! They tore that shit up! Sounded as good or better than the original and love that heavy psychedelic rock jam in the middle. I wish we would see more crossover of ethnic groups and music genres like this today...damn I miss the 60's and 70's!
Time may have come but the Chambers Brothers sound as good if not better, than they ever have. :)
What a powerful performance! Love this song and band.
The anthem of my youth.
Lived underneath me when I lived in Hollywood..
I can't like this enough! WHOA!! Beyond amazing!
Time has been good to these guys.
Cant get enough of that cowbell!
Voice is still huge.
Absolutely love this. Played this song on guitar with my band that I put together in college.
I remember this band.... Great band and song 😊
I remember when this came out on our litle am radios beck in the mid 60's we were like WHAAAAAAT?????....Blew our little 13 yr old minds!! "One Day"...
his voice is just fantastic
Are they having FUN sure am IMHO.
One of the greatest rock and roll songs ever
Awesome! These guys never lost it Bravo!
A very huge hit from around 1969. Love it so so much!!! This live version sounds so fresh. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece!!!
I think it came out originally, in 67. It took Woodstock to bring it to the forefront of the anti war groups.
@@sotbot123I originally saw them in the summer of 1966, at Stanford University, when I was 11 years old. Can't remember if they did this song or not, it was so long ago. They opened up for Santana. I believe Lester is playing in a band now called Moonalice.
Still fantastic!
UNBELIEVABLE. FANTASTIC. I always loved this song and never get tired of it. Time has come to bring back music like this and stop the madness with all the crap on the radio. I saw these guys at the Michigan Palace in downtown Detroit around 1974. I believe they were on the bill with Graham Central Station and Mahogany Rush.
Love these guys!!
Masterpiece.
Greatest psychedelic-soul song ever!
I love you Chambers Brothers! One of the absolute greatest of the late 60's and early 70's. I used to play this song on guitar with my college Rock band. Time...less!
I have listened to TIME so many times over the years and still love it to this day. Dad played a every day before. Every time play it, I can't help noticing that deep voice laughing while the other singer sounds like he's burning.
Wow! This version just blew me away !!!!! February 4th , 2022.
Badass!
Saw these guys do this at South Lake Tahoe, Independence Day, 1968. Along with The Flaming Groovies and The Santana Blues Band. Pretty good show.
we were lucky to have these guys
Epic!
Amazing! ❤
Still have goosebumps 🎶💕🎶💕2021
Amazing!
Far out. I got to see them at the 20th Anniversary of Woodstock at the 20 years After weekend at Cal State Dominiquez Hills.. They still got it.. Rock On✌
Yessss!! The Dominguez Hills concerts were AWESOME!!! Omg The Chambers and Electric Flag!!!
@@davidm1675 Am functioning better so can finally reply. My ex an i were at the Groovy weekend. Took over 20 years but i was finally able to find a 3 disk dvd from the weekend. I was able to save them on my computer before selling it. Now trying to find a way to post them on my channel and get past the sensors. Plus have to do some minor editing. Main thing is time is not on my side. Having to sell most of my belongings. Ck out the Woodstock video on my channel when you get a chance ✌️
Randy R Oh my Randy, so sorry to hear that!! Many prayers that all works out for the best. Randy, so there actually exists a video of Dominguez Hills?? Well I will try to locate it somehow!! Thanks much Randy and much luck to you. Be safe
@@davidm1675 Will try to upload when I have this rare thing called Time. Have at least 80 videos to work on. Also have to get $4000 for urgent surgery. Spinal stenosis has gotten severe.
Randy again so sorry for your health issues!!! You need to concentrate on your health and getting better. Any videos can wait! Much luck to you!
Chambers Brothers forever! Soundtrack of my youth!
This never shall be old.
Absolutely incredible! Unreal ❤
As relevant a song today (in 2021) as it ever was.
Oh Thank the infinite There's still time !
Yes!
It doesn’t get better than this,God love em.
Timeless. And ageless.
I first heard this when I was in the Army they can still kick out the jams. Rock on Brothers.
Saw them live at Notre Dame University in the sixties and they were Amazing!!! The audience started dancing on their seats, in the aisles and finally on the stage itself during this song!!!! All you could see of the band was the neck of the bass sticking straight up. The security guards were going absolutely nutzo, then finally gave up. The band loved it. The fans lived it. It is memorable to this day.
Rite on they should be in the haul of fame long a go .
