    you should of seasoned the bbq first following the user manual instructions after that you should never ever close the doors in till the bad smoke is gone ie you need Transparent smoke
    Transparent smoke is a good sign

      Yes I know I should have done it a second time, but it was getting late in the afternoon and the natives were getting restless and hungry. I have done another seasoning session since. Thanks for your comment and tip.
