Hello. Please take a look at this list: www.amazon.co....
This machine reminds me of the zodiac where it suds up and then tumbles slowly. This looks like a great machine what a collection!!
It’s a fab collection and so privileged to be able to use and film the machines. Hope you enjoyed.
She reminds me our old philco..her swinging between tumbles..clockwise spinning and the shape of her window😻
Kia N it was so lovely to get to use this machine. Beautiful
Great machine good water level just like old days with washing machines my hoover washing machine don't use much water until rinse cycles as I always use extra rinse
I’m glad you enjoyed, next time I’m up there I will try a few more other machines and make more videos on them. I loved using all the machines that weekend.
My grans first automatic. She loved this machine and said it was very heavy. It had cast iron as counter weights
Yeah, it really does weigh a lot.
Sadly we don’t have Bendix in the United States anymore though the US is where the company was founded by Ford Motor Company. I know that there are still Tricity-Bendix washers available in Australia. Australia still has Kelvinator and Thor too.
Bendix was the first front loader a available on the domestic market. It was also the first non wringer washer on the market that extracted the water by spinning laundry. It was the first automatic washer with a timer that switch cycles. They had no suspensions at first and were bolted to the floor.
The house that I grew up in, In Levittown NY came with one as did every Levitt house.
Ford also owned another appliance manufacturer at the time named Philco. Sometime during the 1960s their front loading program became Philco-Bendix.
There were two models of Levitt homes, Cape Cod and Farm Ranch. I lived in a Cape Cod and had the round bodies washer in the first clip. The ranches were built three years into the project and received the newer square model in the second video.
The school in that video (Division Avenue) was the high school that I attended.

Ah yes, I’ve seen that video. I love that machine. The drums on them are massive! What are the capacities on them?
I'm sure my parents had this washing machine it was a fantastic machine when they passed away I binned it and it was fully working just wanted a new one when I moved in there home and the new one didn't last five minutes I'm kicking myself
It’s always the case, get new, but where do you keep all the old stuff? It’s just a natural thing to do.
I love how much it uses water. My Hoover Vision Tech uses very little amount of water. I guess it's due to the EU rules. What a shame. These old washing machines are better.
Well 🤣🤣🤣. I do loved using it and it was a lot of fun. Would I go back to using one on a daily basis? no. Definitely not. It’s more of a nostalgia thing. 🤣🤣🤣
My Great Aunt who lives in Hampshire South of England the Machine Lasted until 2000 and got replaced by a LG
Lovely old machine to use.
Got quite a ‘violent’ turn to it.
Yeah 🤣, vigorous wash action. Good machine
@@HooverLux I still have a good child memory of the Bendix DeLuxe 7147. Seems this machine runs on that same architecture. I remember how it used to advance to the Prewash sector, going past the Bio wash. First time I saw that I was hooked: I thought it had a brain of its own ☺️
My Great Aunt had that Machine hers was dated 1984 I Think about her when I watch the machine running it was never operating i dont think when we visited her She always used programme 5
Aww, glad it brought back nice memories, I love them for that.
What a lovely purr 🦁🌈💖🐅🦁🌈🦁🌈💖🦁🌈🦁🦁🌈🦁🌈🦁🌈🦁🌈🦁🌈🐼🦄
Thanks Jane, it really does have a sound of its own 🤗
These Bendix machines are hard to find
So lovely to use one in full working order.
