Super cool format Erik!! Thank you for sharing the matches with us. Love this stuff. Keep it coming buddy!!
Love this format it is the best to watch as it keeps you on edge watching especially when you show the target as they shoot
I sat here and watched the whole thing on the edge of my seat, I could never have thought I would have been this into this format and tournament.... If this was on ESPN I know for sure more people would watch this than golf......and I play golf and shoot btw
Shooting a Golf Ball at 1000 yrds would be fun though, Hole In One!!...Golf Ball that is lol.
Very interesting format, love the competition and sportsmanship!
Glad I made the effort to meet you and see the facility I've heard so much about. Long drive from Texas but happy you made it in one piece. At present I don't shoot these distances but just watching and listening has helped me improve . ... enjoy
I’m sure you’ll jump in soon. It’s fun.
Great reactions from the competitors. Awesome work, Erik! 👍
Man...that's a great format! 1v1 rounds are always more exciting (to me) than a cumulative format. I would enjoy televised matches in this format.
This is a very nice range, I recently joined as an annual member after paying per visit for almost a year. There is an elusive and peculiar updraft around the 4-600 yrd range that seems to add to the counter intuitive elevation. I hope to make it for the V2 this year as a spectator, I hope to learn as much as I can. Good Luck Everyone!!
Great competition Mate I loved every minute of it thanks , Steve from Australia
This is great!! Exciting to watch.
Nice to see John’s face!
Looks to have been a great tournament. Thanks for sharing. I Saw F Class John deal at the airport.Luck was on his side.
Awesome stuff Eric, looks like a lot of fun.
Great video Erik! Really like your narration!
This could be the toughest F-Class match I would imagine. Congratulations to all!!!
Much, much better format. Regular competitions are like a golf match--you're basically playing against yourself for best score while everyone else is on some other hole trying to do the same. With this format, every shot is one against one with your competition right at your elbow.
Dead zero. Love that place. The technology for the targets is outstanding. Makes working up loads and just shooting in general fun again!
Wow!! Great format Erik, your good people and friends.
Hopefully sponsorship will pick up on this and take it to a new level.
Only in America 🇺🇸 great job again, and video, congrats to all the winners. God bless be safe. 😎
Thanks Erik for the awesome videos!
Interesting match concept, I like it. In my mind it give a whole new perspective...regular matches with however many shooting through the relays you are really only competing against yourself. This format, there is no mistaking you are going head to head against the shooter next to you.
I was at that site for the Thursday practice. If I had known you were there I would have stopped over to say hi and how much I have learned from your channel.
Best show ever. Really like the format
Came here to say the same thing. Really cool format. Very spectator friendly. This makes the competition really engaging and fun to watch for non-shooters and shooters alike. Really well done.
Lmao,, this makes every shot seem to count more. “Need my doctor to double up on my heart meds”. Classic!
Awesome competition, nice range too, wish we had some like that here in New Zealand 😎😎
i just started searching for f-class videos of you and let me tell you, this one is very fun
Hey you turned f-class into Golf!
(Love the golf clap!)
Absolutely fantastic!!!
That range is gorgeous! It looks like everyone had a blast (no pun intended)
Most match videos are boring. That was very entertaining to watch. Nice job.
Let's see you shoot in one of these matches. Lot more fun than watching a regular F class match
Great range, love shooting there. But yes, the vertical there is bizarre!
This looks like a great format!
Absolutely awesome 👏 job Eric and F/class John got his face out lol 😂 really great format
Had a blast out there shooting with the wife and friends.
Great looking format and some nice prizes too. Don't forget to Lube. LOL Have a great Thanksgiving and stay well.
Hahaha f class john! Awesome and thanks for showing......
We need some ec tuners break updates!
They are in stock! :)
@@ErikCortina Yep. I ordered a tuner brake during the week and it was in the mail the same day or the next. 😎
As a Finn I'm pleased and proud to see those Lapua logos :)
You need to put this on ESPN
Awesome event, congrats too all the winners and loosers. Wish they would set that up for a state event, letting anyone who wants to shoot for their state to enter. Pro against novice, even a blind pig finds an acorn now and again. That would really be good for our sport...thx all..
An awesome spectator event, well done!
I have absolutely zero idea what's going on here but I'm on the edge of my seat and as excited as the proverbial kid in a candy store.
14 minutes in and gonna have to take a break and get me some valium just to keep from overheating.
Seems like a blast. Someone obviously done something 100% right.
Eric, really wish I'd known you were coming into town brother. I would've come up and met with you, took you out to dinner. Man if you come next year, let me know!! Dead Zero is an awesome range.
Fantastic vid...
still waiting for update on your shop Eric lol
I ordered a tuner brake during the week and it was in the mail the same day or the next. 😎
I never knew you where into competition.. Very-cool.. wish my eyes where still sharp to join in..
That's what electronic targets are for!
Curious to see the guns up close(neophyte). Pretty rifles!
I really would have liked to seen everything in one video like an Olympics on a tv ...
Finally, we get to see FClassJohn's face.
He was starting to become a new Earl Hindman (Mr. Wilson from Homme Improvement)
Nice to put a face on those gloved hands.
I have to agree completely!! I am subscribed to his channel and have been learning a lot but couldn't understand the "no face" position he was taking. It's not necessary as we don't bite! John, hope you turn over a new leaf. And, this match was most interesting and informative. Thx Erik.
"Match Play"...now where have I heard of this..."FORE".
Man I wish I woulda knew this was going on I would have came it’s only a hour from me woulda been cool to meet everyone
Has anyone reloaded with the new Hornady A tip 6.5mm heads?
This looks like so much friggen fun! I'm Jelious lol
Primers, I just happen to own about 50,000 federal 215 match primers but now I have no 210's so I am loading a 22-250 with 215's because that is all I have in any numbers!
I've never been in a competition and I would like to know what that flat thing is that's attached length wise on top of the barrel? You guys are having so much fun😃💯💥💫
Eric, I was wondering what is the average size group that everyone was shooting?
Man, that was exciting.
4 hours stuck in traffic during a long ass road trip can put anyone in a bad mood... LOL The deeper I go down the rabbit hole watching these videos the more interesting it gets!!!
Dang the prizes! I just want to show up and lose. LOL
Looked like a blast
This format looks made for TV!
I think it is a great format. Wonder if it could be modified for larger matches, instead of two shooters, have 8, 16 or so and have the top half move on the winners bracket and bottom half move into the losers bracket?
Really great video Eric! I am an old high power shooter and now have the bug to try F-Class. Lot of great information in the video. I find the new electronic targets a thousand miles from the days pulling targets in the pits. I have just one question, assuming no wind, “do you use center mass hold on your targets regardless of distance?” Oh I don’t chase lands!
It depends. There are many strategies that can be used by shooters.
Go watch these videos to learn more.

Very cool . I live not far from that place
Those prizes are awesome. I'd love to shoot a few rounds with a pro shooter (His equipment) just to have the experience and to understand what it takes to make those shots at that distance.
I’d watch that. The best shooter got to have a little teaching. I want to try this so bad.
Seems like fun!
In that range i my Tikka T3x sporter would to even better. :) and yes, its 6.5x55 :)
What are you using for your mirage band and where did you get it
That look like would be a lot of fun.
Maybe i missed it EC but how does one qualify for this tournament. Love the format. Great video! Those were some great prizes too!
Link in description
@Erik Cortina,
what rifle stocks do you use? make/maker etc awesome stuff
Welcome to Tennessee.... If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute
A nude class of F-Class sounds pretty revolutionary. Maybe it will bring in a higher number of new (and interesting) shooters.
That's really cool
What are the 3 top caliper barrel length and twist of the leaders
I like the shooting format. I wish we could do something like that here on the Big Island, Hawaii. It's hard just finding a good 100 yard range here.
Exactly! Oahu is out of the question. Although there is Pu'uloa Range in Ewa Beach. I believe they only go up to 600 yards. But yes i too would love to have a 1000 yard range in Hawaii to shoot. For now I will have to stick with Arizona.
This looks like fun
What is the down-range camera system being used here?
Erik,
What are the rifles with the wide barrels? I have not seen anything like them.
Not Eric, but will reply. Those are shields, like a wide venetian blind panel, over the barrel to reduce or eliminate heat mirage coming up from the barrel. It's bad enough dealing with it down range, no need to add to it with barrel heat.
What are you using to look at the target? Is it a camera or an app or something?
Shot Marker by Adam Mcdonald
So Eric. What does it take in equipment, gear, costs, etc to get to that level of shooting/ competition? Can you maybe do a video on breaking downs on entry, mid level and top levels?
A Second mortgage!
I.m late to the party but, what about this format as a reginal stock gun- stock gun other barrel other trigger 2 class set up. Maybe we could get factories to put up the money and travel cost would be low. set a total rig price at $3500 gun, scope, rest and have at it.
What are the pieces of cardboard(?) on top of the rifle's barrel and what is its function?
Helps reduce or deflect the Heat Mirage when looking through the scope.
Brackets, eh? This sounds like the fairest way to shoot these matches!
How does one find these matches to register?
The only thing that I will say is Nice vídeos de nice guys Eric cortina
Hi Erik! Could you please tell me how this software is called where you can see the impacts? Very interresting. Thank you
Shot Marker by Adam MacDonald
I'm in with one caveat...EC, are you gonna teach me to shoot?
Really nice price s!!!
I heard mentioned in one of the other videos, I believe Ken & Tim's match, they were both using 300 WSM. I know Eric and a few other use the 284 Shehane, but what are some of the other calibers that are used? Thanks.
7 SAUM. That’s about it and 284
@@ErikCortina By “straight 284” do you mean “284 win”?
After watching this whole thing,, it says a lot about the caliber of shooters here whit the Shot Marker only showing 2 MOA
Shot marker shows the V ring, which is 1/2 MOA.
I’ve been thinking about going to that shooting range. It’s the closest 1000yd range to me
You should. It’s a top level range. E targets are on all the time and you can shoot 300, 600, or 1000 on e targets.
This looks fun
What do we need to do to do this
I'm interested in these electronic targets. Where can I learn more?
Shot Marker by Adam MacDonald
Eric! Does rain affect trajectory?
Great video ! What's the target camera setup? Pretty cool...
It works like a wifi system that shows your hits on a tablet screen. Each lane has a tablet assigned to it. Very Expensive but very nice system. Saves on paper and staples though lol
Shot Marker by Adam MacDonald
That was fun
What is that ontop of some of the barrels, like a flat piece of material?
It is to reduce and deflect the heat mirage coming off the barrel when looking through the scope. Hope that helps!
Hi Guys - what Rifles/Rounds are these guys using?
Was each match the same distance and/or if it was , what was the distance they were shooting. ?
Yes. 1,000 yards
That place in middle of nowhere lol
