      rainguardian122 he is free because he live in india. He wouldn't be able to move freely in China. It's true china have 250 million Buddhists but for china Communism is above all. Also he has sadness because he feels for the others that suffer

      +rainguardian122 WTF was he supposed to do otherwise ? Cry like a baby ? He is supposed to be a living god, but shamelessly, he abandoned his people and fled for his own sorry life. What a loser. The Dalai Lama, like the Catholic Pope, is a fake. May the love and the peace of Jesus be with us.

      Bojna Cavoblave WTF ??? Did Buddha exist ? Did Confucius exist ? Did Socrates exist ? Did Elvis exist ? Of course they all do. Jesus, like Buddha, Confucius, Socrates, and Elvis, is a historical man. The life and the teachings of Jesus are recorded in history books called the Gospels. Jesus died 2000 years old, but he is alive today in spirit which is in his teachings the same way the spirits of Buddha, Confucius, Socrates, and Elvis are alive today. Do you like Elvis ? I saw him live in Las Vegas back in 1972. I sang along and danced along with his spirit then as I sing along and dance along with his spirit now. I am an eye witness Elvis exist. May the love and the peace of Jesus be with us.

      No he wasn't.Jesus was NOT a historical man. There is no record of him in from the Romans(the people who recorded everything just about) and there is exactly 0 physical pieces of evidence for his existence.

    I am anti religion in general but I really appreciate the Dalai Lamba.Such a humble and rational religious leader is a precious rarity. He doesn't even show any animosity towards the state that exiled him because he is able to see beyond his personal perspective and grasp the broader reality. Meeting him is definitely on my bucket list.

    • @SeventeenPointFive

      Couldn't agree more, especially the bucket list part! out of all the religions, Buddhism definitely deserves to be the most popular because of the ideology they teach. Peace and the whole karma aspect, the whole world would be a better place if the majority were Buddhist.

    • @AbhijitGaba
      @AbhijitGaba 10 років тому +41

      eiji kenji Dalai Lamba doesn't support or encourage self immolation. As a matter of fact, He has vocally opposed this practice Tibetans end up doing that because they have no other way to rebel. They can not even think about fighting for their freedom because Chinese control is absolute and utterly unrelenting.Even peaceful protests could bring the wrath of the communist party down upon the people and thus they willing to dramatically commit suicide just to prove their point.
      In Any Case,I do agree that Julian Assange and Edward Snowden deserve greater recognition .They are great people. However,You have to realize that The Dalai Lamba is not just a man but also the symbolic protector of the Tibitan civilization and culture. He has had the opportunity to spearhead rebellions and destabilize the region but he chose peace instead. You gotta give him credit for that,if for nothing else.

      Yepp, credit this one man, because he is the only person whose words, saying the "obvious" things sound authentic, genuine. Can YOU face the mirror and say the "obvious" thing with total genuinity? Without any doubt in yourself in any way doing something that is opposite to these words? You either must be lieing to yourself or you find calamity and you will not care about the result, as its not a stressful matter to you and your life, then you realize, that if you are truly living to your words, you have nothing to prove to anyone that you are true to them. The real history is more complicated, the time Dalai lama ruled Tibet, Tibet was as backward as Europe's medieval age with most population slaves of the rulers(monks and rich). It is a joke that he is given Peace prize just like Obama's peace prize is a joke because backed by CIA, he tried to use force to regain his rule while communist party for sure will not allow Tibet to continue its old medieval path. Forgive my bad English, those are the history facts.

    It is so sad that some to stupid people are writing some bad comments on Dalai Lama. To be frank either, they are writing this out of ignorance or else they criticize him on political reason because, they come under the Communist party of china;Who is still torturing, killing and jailing people who stands for their basic human rights in main land china, Tibet, Inner mongolia and ugyar. So sad... Even they try to interfere on Taiwan and hongkong issue... shame on communist china... shame of on those who stand with CCP... Freedom to all...

      Tenzin : Shame on you for falling short of an average human intelligence on issues related to China. Chinese people love their country and human right records except a few brats. CCP lifted millions after millions of Chinese out of abject poverty since the 1970s. CCP has made China a better place to live much to the envy of many countries. If you stop China interfering with Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet, Mongolia and Xinjiang, it is the same that we will stop Dalai Lama interfering with the lives of all Tibetans. Is it possible ? Common sense prevails. "Innocence Breeds Ignorance" . Be insightful when you are making comments on China.

      I know a lot on this subject. so please tell me, how well Mao took care of chines people, when he starved to death around 30-50 millions of chines? I bet you don't even know about it, cuz you are brainwashed by your party. I was in China, and I was in Tibet. there is no freedom there. so don't say this nonsense. and if you speak about human right, please answer me how could chines soldiers kill Tibetan nun, in cold blood, the innocent nun, who tried to run from oppression to Nepal? if you don't belive me, check a movie of that on UA-cam...

    He is wrong about America's systemic problems. The fact that corporations and lobbyists are legally permitted to have so much sway over the various branches of government is a major issue. Imagine if you discovered a corporation was 'donating' to a judge in a court case you were involved in. Now recognize that corporations have virtually unlimited ability to 'donate' to the election campaigns of Congressmen and presidential candidates. Who do they serve? They aren't representatives of the People - they are representatives of big corporations.

      but he also said we need more effort in america. Which is evident in who votes, who works, who gets involved which is saying we need to do more than just say. The corruption that we see is what we allowed.

      That's really a great way to put it and for the life of me I can't figure out why people can't get this through their heads. Our system sounds great on paper, but in practice it can be bought - and it's being sold to the highest bidder every single day right in front of our faces.

      Yes, USA is corrupted with corporation-related misdeeds. And these Corporate-corrupons remain hidden from the eyes of a simple, human beings. Corporation crooks rule. Trump is a corporation- crook

    The living Buddha. He has openly criticised feudalism in Tibet, particularly feaudalism revolving around Dalai lama institutions(so called "Lamaism"). In one of his speech he was quoted to have said "The Lama institution had its origins in a feudal set up, the Buddhists had no tradition of reincarnation or the Lama institution". Therefore, I believe he is beyond any institution. One cannot concatenate him with any particular institution. Not only he is a great spiritual and religious leader but also a great politician, who possess diplomatic skills and intellect. Ergo, even if the Dalai lama institution will seize one day, the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso will always be remembered till the end of time.
