I know the reason. I remember we went to the shop to get an Ariel Barbie (I was 4/5) and I was crying my eyes out because there was no actual Ariel-barbie. Sure they had the Disney-logo and all, but the harsh faces staring at me from the plastic boxes were nowhere near the friendly expression Ariel had. We searched high and low to find an Ariel with a happy smile and no exoforic (both look a different way) eyes. So her painting the ríght faces on, is just un-doing the 'damage' that the industry did to our lovely characters by cheaply making them look like that. And that's why everyone loves it.
I know she started out as a cat but I really like how monster high makes their dolls so diverse, her features still look very African to me and some girls are legit that skin tone so it's nice to see a doll that looks like that. That added with the artist's beautiful make over would have been something I would've liked as a kid. Just waiting to see colorful afros next lol anyways I think you're a great artist because you can paint over any canvas color!

I think that's why Monster High are so popular for repaints/as toys. They're very diverse in not only skin tones, but in features as well. Each doll is unique in their individual features. Granted, the face paint makes them look the same, but you can really see the different sculpts once the paint is taken off.

I have no idea why people are saying you butchered the doll. You took the cheap shitty make up off, and created a softer infinitely more beautiful doll! You probably increased the value of the doll by doing this. I personally love it!
Your make over looks much better, than the original factory produced look, but you should do something about your camera the focus is not very stable, it goes blurry way too often.
+Anziran camera equipment is extremely expensive but hopefully with the help of my Patreon page I will be able to upgrade sometime soon and minimise the focusing issues :) Until then this is all I can do.

tbh i always thought Catty's factory paint job was just soooo. How do I put it. It reminded me of the heavyset drag queen makeup faces. I feel like this is more natural while still being really defining about things like eyeshadow placement and whatnot. It truly is one of a kind
