Absolutely fantastic looking Boxster. Love the light replacement, but I don't care for the plexiglass windscreen. But I do understand the practicality of it.
I absolutely love mine, but it's still a poor man's 911 lol, and I don't mind saying it, 2016 Porsche 718 Boxster, upgraded exhaust, light tent, upgraded tail lights, all done by Porsche. It only has 20K miles.

@@RobMotive even here in Switzerland that slang is known ;-)... and fully agree with your mods... the amber one looks terrible on any model I would say.
@@RobMotive my dad has a 84 Porsche 911 turbo but his is a slant nose red and convertible with the big wide tail fin and I showed him your idea and he says that's better than the fish net molding
+Arleigh Taylor I purchased the screen at suncoastparts.com. They are the parts dealer at Sun Coast Porsche. No issues with the screen at all or at any speed.
Summer tires will be an issue in the winter because of how hard the rubber gets when cold. Also, ground clearance may be an issue with snow depth on some roads. However mid-engined cars like the Boxster and Cayman are excellent handling in snow. I drove Porsches in snow for years and never had a problem.
My biggest concern would be clearance. If deep enough, I could imagine the snow getting under the car. Of course that would mean getting stuck potentially!! Winter or all seasons would take care of the summer tire issue for sure👍
i used to have a 2001 boxster until i heard all the horror stories about the ims, now i want to buy a 2009 or newer boxster for under 20 grand no luck yet
@@RobMotive I'd be willing to bet there are more IMS commentors on UA-cam than the total number of Boxsters that Porsche manufactured. From what I see, the majority of people complaining about IMS issues aren't actually owners...lotsa haters out there looking for something to point at... And for what it's worth, I am - I had a 1999 986; bought it used and drove it for six years. The only non-standard maintenance I had to do to it was a new water pump. That did scare the bejeezuz out of me as when it started making noise I of course assumed a bad IMS. My mechanic (not a dealer - he's a local guy who specializes in German cars) kindly made a house call to check it out. HE said that as bad as an IMS failure is, he has only seen one. That's just an anecdote, to be sure, but there you go. And fort whatever else it's worth, I sold my '99 and traded it up to a 2004, (again, used), mostly because I simply love the feel of the first generation, and found one with all the bells and whistles that the '99 didn't have. I've been driving that one for four years with no maintenance other than oil changes. If you're looking at used Boxsters, due your diligence, and have a mechanic specifically check for potential IMS issues. When the time comes for a clutch replacement, do the upgrade. (oh, and for whatever else else it's worth, I have not had to replace the clutch in either of mine yet!). Well, hopefully I didn't just jinx myself here!

Vloggingadventureswithrob Hi, I hope you will still read this. I think the mesh is intended to reduce turbulence as some air will go through it. Did you notice any difference at high speed? Tx for your vids!
+Eduard van Raalte I imagine you are right, but I haven't noticed anything. I would guess it wouldn't matter unless you are exceeding the limits of the car😎
cool Porsche. What I did was I blacked out my headlights and my tail lights and that side amber light. since my Porsche is black blacking out the side amber light made all the sense . That way you don't even see this side marker light at all. I also remove that cheesy plexiglass in the back. That is my one complaint. Why would they make that plastic windoe on a Porsche. So I didn't want a Cheesy plexiglass on my car so I just ride without it. At night or even in the day for that matter I drive with the rear view mirror all the way down. I'm considering taking it off. Since I drive big rigs I'm used to not having a rear view mirror.
+TheCynicalAfro 101 It was either the Canon G7x or the GoPro Hero 5 Black ed. Honestly...I can't remember which on I used. However, all of my most recent vids were shot with the GoPro. Hope that helps!!😎
A solid wind screen completely changes the cabin aerodynamics, so you have to try and see whether you like it; e.g. dog owners say that their dogs go crazy in the car, as the turbulences get pushed down there somehow - so definitely not for everyone ;) Also, I think this talk regarding the mesh is made up... must be so, because I can see everything either way... your video doesn't even prove the point you set out to make ;) I don't think I have amber indicators, but I am not in the US... is that a legal thing? Are your clear ones legal? (I washed the car yesterday, but now you confused me + I have to check!)
