This govt does not understand exports.If they get involved they will soon learn that exports are very fragile and if the price is not right overseas buyers go elsewhere.
Persisting in applying a failed policy implies a total lack of mental ability. Including persons just to comply with BBEEE who do not add value to the production or render effective services to a business is like encouraging your cattle heard to grow ticks.
The farmers that will be affected by this could perhaps approach Afriforum to help set up a business plan to supply their produce directly to local communities around the country which will help offset losses and we'll benefit as well,better produce at a competitive price and cut out the middle man.

If I were a farmer I would get rid of 75% of my workers, cut costs to the bone, let the banks worry about the loans, produce no more than 25% to 40% of my normal capacity, and make a deal with my local community to sell my produce to them first. At the same time I will ensure that I do not turn a profit, and therefore pay zero taxes for the next 4 years.

Thats why i bought a few seeds and my partner and i am growing a lil vegetable garden. To be completely honest Im only 21 and the price compared to the product is horrible. We’ve spent quit a lot of money on meat especially and i can not express how upset i am that half of the time the meat was not fit to even be on the shelves.
