3:30 That looks like the kind of tuition I could have done with when I first started learning to drive. It taught drivers how a car will behave in most normal operating conditions. Driving around cones becoming familiar with steering, braking, clutch control and, most fun of all, accelerating.
I remember this episode from the day it aired; right down to the road safety guy rolling off that statistic of 150 motorists killed every day on UK roads. That was 25 years ago; why do I remember that?
Stu047 I remember too, I would have been 18, I always watched Top Gear back then when I was fascinated with cars, can’t find the air dates anywhere though.
Not really, Porsche has made mid engine'd car since the very start, just only racing cars. As MR layout was considered to hard for the average driver to cope with(Part of the reason they went RR instead of MR). And water cooling was used on the 917 race car.
Parking today is even worse then back then, now days cameras every were and every parking is either private or pay parking, and pay parking is so expensive in London specially its its more then £5 per hour just rip off. And clamping still happens today but now days its just hard to drive, parking, and idiot drivers on roads every day those days gone when there was a thing called weekend drivers or Sunday drivers, now its every day drivers are worse. Going back to parking, and parking is pain everywhere, yellow lines everywhere so you can't even stop somewhere for few seconds, residents parking alot, parking on private land then get clamped or get fined. Fine in todays day is regular thing, you get fined for nearly everything. Uks life is just bad enough, no freedom its controlled in a way we think we living in freedom county, but might still be better then some countries. And cars them selves now days are so big so parking is another issue with todays cars, back in 90s cars were smaller and easy to drive and park.
Such a bore compared to Jezza Hamster and Slow.. It`s ALL consumer information and no entertainment lol. Only good part is Clarkson and Tiff in a 911..
Yeah of course everyone would want one but, yeah: Nazi origins, it was copied from the Tatra, though it looks good most of the time, sometimes it looks like a frog. God bless, Rev. 21:4
Can someone put me out of my misery and tell me what the love song is that starts playing when Jeremy clarkson comes one cos I've heard it before I just can't think who sings it
Thanks for sharing these, appreciated.
This brings back memories of early 90's britain that i don't even have.
90's britain is so different than 2020's usa that is is astonishing
@@studid55 The world was completely different in the 90's.
The Tiffin Gullet?

That safety bloke came to my school! I remember he pronounced motorbike as "murder bike"

The guy predicted water cool (from 996) and moving the engine (current race car).

Here's the trick: Carry your own clamps with you, put them on while you're parked, to fool people into thinking someone has already clamped you.
You are winning at life.
..... road safety, drive carefully, .... and now look how entertaining Group B is.
When top gear was a car show
Can’t mind his name but, was a bike guy that was on the show and I was just at that age I loved it
Thanks for this
Tiff quoted only breaking distance, the actual Highway Code stopping distance at 70mph is 315feet, they need to refuse these numbers
I wish I could find any ok 911 as easy as he said now 😥😥
Starts @ 14:00 LOL
But why skip there when you can listen to road deaths and tire clamps?
love Porsche 993 turbos
I called up for the competition & the guy asks me if I want fries with that

Top Gear, Injured edition
The 911 is a class act...!!!

Clamping sounds like a scummy thing.
Banned in Scotland because its extortion. Give us money or we'll deny you the use of your car.
The jeremy clarkson years are the only top gear for any purists.
No
He wasn't the only good thing about Top Gear, you know.
Quentin Wilson was the man

That's what the Old Top Gear is all about. Millennials like you only prefer entertainment over information. 🙄
@MakeApp Some informations aren't available on Google or the internet, just saying.
I just love looking at all the current trends and cars back in the 80s and 90s
the idiots urged people to buy as late a Porsche as they can!
in fact the earliest 1960s 1970s 911s much better investment.
