We need more struggle videos like this! If we all recorded ourselves trying to do a 2-3 person job by ourselves it would look like this, but maybe worse. Glad it all worked out!

Just found you’re Chanel very cool young man nice to see young a young person taking to the water keep up the good work . I no by now you have finished painting you’re boat but If I may In the coast guard we primed the deck whether it was aluminum or steel them we laid down the deck paint and we used a hand held Scott’s seeder to spread the non skid over it it lasted at least six mouths . But what I used later on my sailboats is this none skid like rhino liner from home depo for porch and patio I no what you’re thinking but as long as it’s Applied right it might just work for you and it’s a lot cheaper than the Apoxsee’s good luck and keep up the good work god bless

Park the trick sideways to the forklift, an as you do what your doin now, you could slide the topper across to folks an not worry about dropping or bustin up anything?
Hope this helps yea next time myguy, be safe

Hey brother, you have a pile of pallets there. Next time make a ramp stepping it down and you can just slide it down the pallet with the tailgate take it off.

This is the bit the forklift should be behind the truck an the cap could just be sitting on the forks, but I just aim also just a green grabber

I woulda tried fork extensions with maybe some tires to cushion against the ceiling of the cap. But other than that - I can't believe you didn't have to bleep something out.

A couple straps or lengths of rope and a couple pieces of pipe over the forks allows you to lift from above. Its even easier if you were to put roof racks on the cap.

From what you showed of your yard were you remove the topper at, I could show an make you a sling setup for you to remove it by yourself which I'm sure you've thought of yourself but haven't the time to manufacture

For future reference if you wanna use the Moffitt to remove the truck cap try just keeping a pallet on the forks maybe a couple? The forks them won't have to go up so high and will clear the window

Um, some trestles set at the right height to receive your top as it slides off?
Then it can live on the trestles until you’re ready to drive back and fit it back on.

Spray some lube on the rails/bottoms where its sliding and tape some stiff cardboard to the back tail lights. Prep the spot youll drop it with some heavy drop cloths you have bundled up so when the cover drops on ehm they act like a spring. When you can, try finding time to add two or 4 metal loops to the top of the cover so the forklift fork can go through them easily and take off yhe cover more easily in future. Try to anticipate and prep for problems

Designate a large bright orange tool box that has tight lids when closed. Even better if they have a gasket! Keep all your tools and a few cans if starter fluid and wd40 inside there. Keep the toolbox where You always know to keep it

A couple of 2x4 runners should simplify removing your camper cover and save your tail lights etc. I say "should " because thats the way I do it, and everyone is a little different in their methods.

It looks like you need to organize your yard bro. I am Lake Shore Native and still live in the Dirty Dena. My teenager and I can help. Our fee would be one of the scrap cars (gotta help get it running I am not engine savvy) you got laying around.

The next time, you need to either put that canopy on or off... place the forklift forks parallel to your tailgate.
Then, slide the canopy onto the forks, and vice versa, putting it on.

  • @lugnutt66

Dude, you need stuff. You've got stuff but you need other stuff and more better stuff. Like a winch to take the cap off. And a large table to set it on. Some 2x4's and plywood about 4 feet high.
People could send you stuff if they know where to send it. Looking good😎
