Tim is so good dissecting the flavor and ingredients in the chao Tom (shrimp stick). He’s pretty spot on. I’m Vietnamese and love this dish so hearing how he describing it, I am so impressed. Good job, Tim! And yes, you’re supposed to suck the juice out of the sugar cane. The sugar cane is the fun part of eating chao Tom. Glad to hear it tastes good. I’ll be picking up one to try it myself!
Amaretto is an Italian liqueur made from apricot kernels (from inside an apricot stone). Amaretti cookies are likewise flavored with apricot kernels. Apricot kernels lend a strong almond-type of flavor to both products. Amarena cherries are a different product with a different (cherry) flavor but also Italian.
The cold sensation that you get with the cheese snackers is like the sensation you get when you hit the middle of the Lindt Swiss chocolate balls in the red bag😋😋😋
Yes! I was looking forward to this one! 20 items is amazing. Definitely helps make my workouts fun, too, as UA-cam is also a way to help keep those workouts manageable! 🏃 The shrimp skewers look like they could also be used as part of an Asian-style bowl if they're stripped from the stick and cut up. By the way, the Sugar Rice Cracker Stars look like Americanized version of Japanese Yuki no Yado (sweet rice cake crackers). If you have any local Asian markets nearby like H-Mart, you may want to try them out and compare the two! 🍘 And for the apple spread, maybe combine it with some spiced chilis and create a sweet/spicy chutney or marinade for meats or even as part of a jam for sweets? Definitely looking forward to trying the large gingerbread cookie, myself!
So this comments not gonna be a surprise to anyone that my husband and I opened up that bag of popcorn last night and it’s gone! We literally ate the whole bag! It was so delicious!
The amaretto cookies are typically packaged like that and found in most Italian stores. Crumble them and put them on ice cream. The almonds are found at Italian weddings.
Two things are on my want to try. The first is the ginger cookie and the second is the onion soup popcorn. Thanks for a wonderful time of having you two try all the different items!!
The way Tim went after the french onion popcorn reminded me of how he attacked the ranch chicken dip. Both of you are so great to watch, but Tim is hilarious with the reactions that go from A to Z registering so clearly. On the question, I think I'll check out the gingerbread squares. It's not a cookie I make during the holidays, but I think would be fun to have on hand, esp because the form looks old school traditional. Perfect for breaking into two and sharing over a coffee drink.
I tried the phyllo crisps today and loved them. I do have teeth! But they stayed in place. 😅 I am most excited for the mushroom tartelettes and the French Onion popcorn I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving! I'm very grateful for your videos and this community you've created. ❤
I am heading to the US from Canada next week and alway excited to hit Trader Joes! Thanks for the review, I will definitely look for the Shishito crisps
The packaging of the French Onion Popcorn looks very retro. It gives me Julia Child vibes, even Martha Stewart vibes from two decades ago, which makes it nostalgic for many of us 50-something older folks, lol. I can't wait to try it. :) Thank you for also reviewing the beers... will be picking up both too.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Katie and Tim and also Benson. Thank you for another delicious taste test. I would definitely be interested in buying the shrimp lollipop appetizers and the mushroom ones. Also, that popcorn! Sounds so good and Tim was really enjoying it. The rest of the sweet treats I wouldn't be fond of. I'm more of a savory palate. Thanks for doing these. I really look forward to seeing them each week! Hope you have a delectable Thanksgiving! Blessings to all!
I like that you two have very different tastes. Like my wife and I would listen to Tim’s recommendations more because he has our tastes, while Katie’s is very different. But for other people it would be the opposite.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Happy Birthday to Benson! I would like to try the shrimp. Those sound delicious and fun! I want to try the chocolates too.
I could eat french onion soup everyday, so I can’t wait to try the popcorn. Olive tapenade humus I think I’ll love too. Putting the calvados apple jam in fingerprint cookies are an awesome idea. Can’t wait to try. Thanks, great haul . Harlow, thanks for the photo bomb. 🐈⬛❤️
Had a Traders run this morning. My husband and i both love the french onion popcorn. Havent tried the blue cheese chips yet but we have them. Happy Thanksgiving to you all
I wasn't a blue cheese fan till i had the tub of crumbled blue cheese made from raw cheese and aged 60 days at Trader Joe's. Really good !!! Make a cream and blue cheese sauce for pasta with it. Yummy !!! Happy Thanks Giving !!! ❤
TJ's has introduced several seasonal fruit spreads this year. Will probably try the Apple/Calvados. I thought the Yuzu/Green Tea was mediocre, but the Apricot/Cardamom was excellent. I also found two returning seasonal products this week that were not mentioned-the Creamy Mushroom Soup with Carrots & Kale (plastic tub in the refrigerated section) and the Winter Sangria sparkling water, which has a blood orange taste.
The mushroom tarts were amazing....one of the best products I've tried from Trader Joes in a long time! I will try mushroom anything! Obsessed! lol. I am excited to try the popcorn though....next time!!
(Penny) As a chocoholic, I'm dying to test the chocolates, but I'm not sure I could resist eating the whole thing. The french onion popcorn is what I will more likely buy if it is not very fattening. That is something I could eat a handful of and put down. I am also intrigued by the two appetizers, the mushroom tart and the shrimp/veggie pops.
I thought the potato chips tasted like a strong cheddar more than a blue. I love them and the popcorn is insane! I missed out on the collapsible bag though.
Wow so many lovely items I want to try so it is hard to pick one but that gingerbread cookie definitely caught my eye. It's so pretty and looks delicious, glad you both liked it. I will be picking up. The chocolates too how can you go wrong with those. 🤗 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I wish they’d reduce their packaging. It could help with cost savings too. Excited to try the nougat, gingerbread, shrimp, and blue cheese chips. Hope you and Tim have a nice Thanksgiving!
This is a great taste test and I need those blue cheese potato chips stat. I am a blue cheese lover. In fact, Trader Joe’s has a blue cheese pecan dip that only comes out this time of year and I usually buy five at a time.
The french onion popcorn and the apple spread as I think it would be delicious in a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
I'm excited to try the popcorn and the apple spread. I forgot to grab them. I was so excited that I got the mini bags today. My store had a variety of them. Someone bought the last collapsible bag when I walked into the store. They had them displayed and allowed two per person. They said that they would be getting more tomorrow (one case per day), but I didn't want to risk it. I went to another nearby store, and they were gatekeeping them at customer service and only allowed one per person, so I was able to get one.
Amaretto cookies seem like they would be good crumbled on vanilla ice cream. I'm thinking that Tim might want to try the shrimp "popsicles" dipped in that hoisin sauce that you guys featured a while back...
We had the shrimp thing for lunch. I googled what to do with the sugar cane stick … we bit it and kind of sucked the juice out. I did not like the flavor of the shrimp. Odd taste. Will not buy again. We served it with a sweet and sour dipping sauce
I’ll def get the popcorn for my husband and the chocolates for myself!! Thanks for another great taste test! Happy thanksgiving to you and your families!!! Have you tried the winter bread ground coffee in the blue bag? I am not even a big fan of flavored coffee, but I absolutely love this stuff. It is so delicious. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend.
I did a Carnivore diet for two years and belonged to a group for people on that diet. They constantly say how vegetables are poison to the body. I officially don’t believe it now. I love vegetables now and feel so much better adding them to my diet and just noticed your skin is flawless Katie! Hearing you use a different air fryer basket then Tim is such a conviction to your beliefs. 👍
That sounds crazy to me. How can vegetables be poison when the very animals that the people on the carnivore diet eat only eat vegetables? lol makes no sense! Anyway I’m happy that you are feeling better. I am a very strict vegetarian but sometimes I miss a label and accidentally eat something with animal rennet in it. It’s a bummer but I’ll live!
@ I use to sneak a salad once in awhile and felt guilty. I watched a movie where they were putting cattle on a truck and cried, I knew where they were going. I realized it was not the right eating plan for me. I love animals. Grass fed is a vegetable? I really did not think about what the animals ate. That is a good point.

Thank you for this helpful description. I learned something new today 😃
Almonds sound like jordon almonds served at weddings
@@cassandraqcassandraq5510 You're right about the jordan almonds. They also come in different colors. Pretty traditional for Italian weddings.
I think the extra wrapping in some treats is to put into decorative bowls or stockings as mini sweet gifts or to
Crush the amaretto cookies into a crust and add a cheesecake filling and fresh berries or peaches on top.
Omg! This is insane and I am so here for it. Now I must try this!
Tim with that French Onion Popcorn was hilarious!
The cold sensation that you get with the cheese snackers is like the sensation you get when you hit the middle of the Lindt Swiss chocolate balls in the red bag😋😋😋

So this comments not gonna be a surprise to anyone that my husband and I opened up that bag of popcorn last night and it’s gone! We literally ate the whole bag! It was so delicious!
Not surprised at all. That popcorn is amazing!
@ it is amazing. I liked the Thanksgiving one better. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Trader Joe’s popcorn. I didn’t like have you? 😊
French onion popcorn is what I want to try! HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU THREE AND FAMILY! 🦃
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, and a very special birthday wish to Benson. ❤️
The amaretto cookies are typically packaged like that and found in most Italian stores. Crumble them and put them on ice cream. The almonds are found at Italian weddings.
“How much air are we buying?” Lol😂
Thank YOU and Tim for such a huge taste test! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Two things are on my want to try. The first is the ginger cookie and the second is the onion soup popcorn. Thanks for a wonderful time of having you two try all the different items!!
Amaretto is almond flavored ya'll.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Loved this taste test and now I know what to do next trip!! Happy Birthday to Benson 🎉 ❤

Thanks, guys, for the haul. Really enjoyed it. The trio chocolates looked so good. Thank you very much. Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm going to stay with friends for a few days and plan to bring the chocolate balls and some other goodies! Good video guys 💟
Im.excoted to get those chocolates and the gingerbread cookie. I'll probably also get some for stocking stuffer. Happy Thanksgiving guys!
Great review!! Love the new popcorn too!! Do you think it will be a year-around item?
Do you think the Italian almonds would mix well with the peppermint flavored ones?
What a great taste test. Hope you and your family have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving Happy Birthday, Benson
Same to you!
Thanks. Happy Txgiving. Happy bday Ben.
the nugat/ torone has host wafer surrounding it. you usually only eat a small peice at a time

I love Italian nougat! I hope they have some when I go back to TJ!
Nougat always has wafer paper on it.
Ahhh that makes so much more sense now! Thank you
Amaretto is almond
I couldn’t find the shrimp bites, but I did find most of the other new items. The Diamond Reserve had also come in.
The mushroom tarts were amazing....one of the best products I've tried from Trader Joes in a long time! I will try mushroom anything! Obsessed! lol. I am excited to try the popcorn though....next time!!

Great video again
I'm anxious to try the chocolate boule and the shrimp " lollipop "
Happy Thanksgiving to your family
I thought the potato chips tasted like a strong cheddar more than a blue. I love them and the popcorn is insane! I missed out on the collapsible bag though.
I had nougat for the first time in my sixties, and I love it.
Wow so many lovely items I want to try so it is hard to pick one but that gingerbread cookie definitely caught my eye. It's so pretty and looks delicious, glad you both liked it. I will be picking up. The chocolates too how can you go wrong with those. 🤗

Def going to pick up the French onion popcorn and the bread pudding!
Bread pudding?!?!?!? Did I miss that one.... I love bread pudding!!!! ::)
@@maries1381I think the bread pudding was in last week’s haul. My Trader Joe’s hasn’t gotten it in yet, supposed to be in this week. 😅
French onion popcorn!
If you price Parmesan crisps from other brands they are very pricey, so that little bag is appropriately priced
Pronounced cal-vuh-dose. Great taste test. Thanks
Great video!
Amaretto is almond flavor liqueur

The french onion popcorn and the apple spread as I think it would be delicious in a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Sounds great!
Try the hard Italian nougat, so good!
Amaretti cookies are almond cookies, not cherry. I really enjoy your hauls/taste tests.
I'm excited to try the popcorn and the apple spread. I forgot to grab them.

Amaretto cookies seem like they would be good crumbled on vanilla ice cream. I'm thinking that Tim might want to try the shrimp "popsicles" dipped in that hoisin sauce that you guys featured a while back...
That’s a great recommendation for the cookies. I will try that!
I might’ve missed something, but French onion soup’s base is beef broth. Nothing like that in the popcorn??
No beef in the popcorn nor is there in Trader Joe’s frozen French onion soup.
@ oh my God! Does that mean I could have French onion soup again? I used to love it but I haven’t had it in over 30 years. Is TJ’s any good??😊
@@Yknotdostuffit’s delicious! I’m an omnivore and I would never have known it’s veggie, but I do read labels lol

How did you decide to be a vegetarian? Did you have a bad experience with eating meat?
Popcorn

Chocolate

The box of phyllo crisps I bought weren’t sticky at all and not as chewy as you described. Very easy to eat. Different lot apparently.
Oh wow, that’s interesting. Glad you got a good batch!
For sure the popcorn and the blue cheese dip. On list. Hugs friend Elissa modesto cali @elissa_tc
