Elvis Presley - Scene from "Follow That Dream" (Mirisch Company 1962)

- In one of his best movies, the underrated "Follow That Dream", Elvis plays the naive but clever Toby Kwimper. In this scene, one of my favorites, Toby wants to take out a loan. He does it his very own way and gets slighty missunderstood. :-)

Elvis was so good at deadpan humor! I wish he had done more movies like this.
Oh, I have got to see this movie! That was hilarious, why couldn't those Hollywood goons see how much potential Elvis had. The more movies of his I watch, the more I am convinced of his acting talent. He was a natural 💕
Still I watch his movies and still today listen to his voice. Always remember Elvis Presley The King of rock and roll. And a very romantic and handsome man
I just love this film Elvis plays a fantastic role it shows of his acting ability he was a brilliant actor if only he could have made the kind of films he wanted to I think his life would have turned out completely different Love 💕 from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴🏴🏴👑👑👑👑💔👋XX
Best scene ever!!!
I was 13. Living in Ocala, Fl...He walked right past me and winked at me on the way into the bank. A memory I will never forget. Beautiful blue eyes. I was only 2 feet from him. RIP...
I bet it was a great memory
Wow! ❤️
I'm so jealous, how lovely
You are so lucky, Mary!
WOW! That's great!
"Toby, are you holding up this bank?" "No sir was somebody holding up?" I love Elvis!!! I also love this movie.
Does anybody know who is in front of Elvis Presley at 1:39?
No, but he was holding up the loan officer!
@@SOCORROSILVA-in7px Howard McNear- he played Floyd the barber on the Andy Griffith show.
This scene should be showed to those (A-word) who insist that Elvis could not and did not act.
Elvis could do it all, comedy included
No one can even come close to Elvis..he had it all..looks, beautiful voice and a great actor to play the parts in these types of movies! Charm n personality to spare! Polite and generous. GOD blessed the World with this man! He was human. I believe most remember him for all his great qualities. When I think of Elvis, it's from his prime! What a gift he was to humanity!
I love this movie and watch it a couple times a year.
I love Elvis ... the calmness and honest man
My most favorite Elvis movie, it had it all.
Comedy, Romance, Adventure and even Gangsters. It's so funny the lines in this movie as they are true. The public are people except to the government lol
Elvis thank you for a wonderful movie and for putting a smile on my face each time I watch it.
Keep a movin move along.
This was without a doubt one of his best movies. I still enjoy watching it on rare occasions. A totally different type Elvis. Just fun and funny to watch. Thnx for sharing.
Love this movie, too! One of my favorites, in fact!
Love this movie 👍👍
Oh such a good candid sweet movie 🍿 loved it ❤️. Elvis really was a good actor and deliciously handsome man ❤️with a heart of gold 🙏❤️
OMG!! I just laughed my but off watching this movie. Toby out smarting the mob guys is the best part. I also love seeing Elvis with his hair color pretty close to his natural color, the same in Kid Galahad.
Very good film and the songs fit the picture beautifully.
Great cast.
As a Canuck, good to see a lovely Canadian like Anne Helm in the cast.
Elvis is excellent as Toby.
I was laughing throughout the clip and cheering for Elvis...oh, I have to put that DVD in my player again REALLY soon!!!!!!!
Phenomenal film clip, Elvis is charming and splendid. Thanks✌👑👼❤🌹
This was my favorite movie and Kid Galahad was my #2 back in the day!
LOVE this film....The scene where he takes the gangsters weapons away from them one at a time is great too !
Hilarious. This movie shows his comic timing and his ability to be funny. There are also some good funny moments in GI Blues - especially the scene when he is babysitting.
I love how confused he is here. So funny xD
Elvis is so sweet and lovely
Elvis Presley was so funny a had a good scence of Humor a so Emotional.
Our family stayed at the Crystal River Lodge while this was being filmed. We were in the front of the motel and Elvis and crew stayed in the rear of the Lodge . We saw the fancy cars and noticed the goings and comings at all hours and asked the owner what was going on . He told us they were making a movie in Yankee town just up the road a piece . Little did we know who and what was to come in the next few years . My cousin Barbara Dotson ( maiden name ) and her husband are in the bank robbery scene standing at the deposit table nearest to the one the loan officer was laying on.. We visited Yankee Town recently . There's no sign that man made beach beside the bridge ever existed.
i love this.
Love it - the innocence of yesteryear
"I thought he had a tremendous potential as an actor. Anything I asked him to do, he seemed able to do. Philip Dunn and I discussed working with Presley. We both agreed that it was no wonder he became a star."Hal Kantar, movie director.) We must again thank Parker for his career as an actor(?)
Who are you, if I may ask? I'm assuming you were/are in the movie business? Sorry if I'm not familiar.
Era un potencial de hombre..todo lo que hacía le salía bien..💕💕👑👑
One greatest film movie, truly enjoy watch this classic film movie. So funny. Thank You. Love all soundtrack of this film movie.
This is one of my favourite Elvis films it’s really funny and to play a part like this takes a brilliant actor and Elvis was a brilliant actor he was absolutely brilliant loved him in this film Love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👑👑👑🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🎸🎸🎸🤴🤴👏👏👏🥰👋
I still have it on VHS :) probably watched it 50 times since i was a kid!
Elvis was a very natural actor, even in his comedic scenes which this was one of his best I might add , he kept it natural and never o t t as some actors do. Humour and sharp wit was His forte in real-life and this scene alone proved it.
Had Elvis been given scripts with more substance to them he would have been up there with the greatest actors of all time time,N he had the talent just wasn't given then opportunity.
Incidentally comedic acting is way more difgicuitbthan straight, the time has to be impeccable and Elvis ,s was.
Such a shame Hollywood and his master sorry manager exploited him, for the quick buck.
A fave of mine.
Mine too. I love, Elvis. And I'm only 22 I wish i could have met him.
He reminds me of Forrest Gump in this movie! They are actually very similar characters!
Great acting with some dialogues.
my favourite El film - favourite scene!
It's sooo funny..lovely 🙏😘💋💋💋💋❤🙏...love you Elvis
awesome! I love the, King!!! Always!
I love this movie!
Love this scene!!
Just an aside you see how cool & amazing his acting is, but in the early films he was so nervous & prone to sweating some scenes he could through up to 8 changes of shirts due to nerves. But completely spell binding
I loved all the Elvis movies as a kid growing up in SC. I noticed that Elvis' shirt was pretty sweaty in this scene. No air conditioning back then. I live in Ocala, FL now where this was filmed, and I can attest that no matter what part of the year this scene was filmed I would have been sweating bullets too. Especially under the movie lights. The guys in the suits and ties must have been sweltering.
I LOVE this Movie , it is one of my all time Favorites .......
Love it.
Howard McNear kills me in everything he’s played in. He was a talented character actor.
Yeah, Elvis and Howard/Floyd were HILARIOUS/GREAT together in this scene...eh!!!!!
Loved this movie when I was a kid! Need to watch it again! I loved the screen were the dark haired lady is hitting on him and he doesn’t realize it! She ends up being mean to them in the end I think. Tried to get kids taken away from his paw. I will try to watch it again soon!
Yea she was married to Ryan O’Neil mother of Tatum also had fling with Elvis so they say?
❤👑💯🙏🎸🎤thanks for sharing❤the movie.he acted great.
Elvis Presley showed great potential as an actor. Too bad Parker, Hollywood screwed Elvis Presley out of better film roles.
This and Kid Galahad were probably my favorite 2 Elvis movies.
I want to see this Elvis movie!! 😍 👍👍
Wonderful film. Elvis played the part of the wise simpleton to perfection. Great supporting cast, too.
@ItalianWiseguy55 I totally have to agree. I recently watched "Follow That Dream" again and it's indeed great. Next to Jailhouse Rock and Flaming Star it's probably his best movie for it is a REAL movie. Elvis and Arthur O'Connell are absolutely great. So is the rest of the case, the original book, the script, the direction, the location, the comedy, the pace... Nothing to be desired.
I’m a huge fan of elvis Presley’s I love 💕 his music and flims too elvis will always be the king 👑 of rock and roll 🎸 my dream is to to visit Graceland Graceland and and communicate with elvis 3:22pm
A complete 🌟
Mob Guy "Is he kidding?"
Other Mob guy "I just don't know anymore."
This is great, thanks a lot for sharing your memories!
I worked at that bank in Ocala FL about 10 years after the movie...it looks the same in the movie, but has changed a lot now. Used to be Commercial Bank and Trust Co. then changed to Sun Bank of Ocala.
Hi - I grew up in Ocala. Could you tell me the address? Is the building still there?
It used to be 203 East Silver Springs Boulevard. I don't live there any more, but the last time I saw the building it had been completely remodeled. It's now Sun Trust I believe. Ocala has changed so much.
That's a wonderful little story. Thanks a lot for sharing!
I reckon the injured guy is secretly holding Elvis hostage??? Lol!🤣🤣😍😘🥰xxx

Someone should upload all the Elvis movies so everyone can watch them for free. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Does everyone recognize the loan officer as Floyd the barber on the Andy Griffith Show?
Yehhh
Howard McNear 1904-1969 great actor who's roles were usually on the humorous side even if he were a bad guy.
Great movie
2:39 Open The Dang Door, Will ya?

He is not only a good singer but also a good actor 👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
4:52 So sweet and innocent
He was good in his movies and had a.talent for comedies.
Elvis era stato anche un bravissimo attore anche umoristico ......
Sapeva fare tutto. Peccato davvero che non abbia avuto occasione di fare ruoli diversi...

Each to there own,but for me,King Creole, was by far his geratest movie, followed by jaihouse rock, his two prime films.
The Trouble with Girls is VERY underrated too, and it has Anissa Jones/Buffy in her ONLY film appearance!!!!!
Brilliant 😂
I thought this movie was gonna suck
Boy how wrong I was !!!!!
Wait is that he barber from the Andy Griffith Show
Now they could clearly see it was Toby calling for help :/
Elvis is giving himbo energy here lol
Boa tarde por favor tem tradução em português obrigado
Floyd from Andy Griffith , lol
He played in Blue Hawaii.
Agneitha & Elvis 1. Australia.
Volumen volumen muy alto
The buy acts like he's run into Clyde Barrow or something 😂
Making this scene in Florida was when 12 year old Tom Petty met Elvis, and changed his whole path in life.
Funny how he tie people up in knots in this movie when he's only being nice and a bit clumsy 🤣
hahaha :]
Floyd the barber 😂
Hi
Good film remember really enjoying it as a young un, looks like wred West as policeman with gun should have shot Elvis saved time writing that abysmal Judas book
