Hi Ling. When I saw the teriyaki word, I knew this was a Japanese dish. I don't prepare Japanese foods but I love having them when I go to food courts when I travel but I never forget my love for Chinese dishes. I'll be preparing one on Saturday but I've been requested by the family to make more in the coming days since they love Chinese foods. I knew I had to carry the load. Great dish you made. Thanks Ling.

Thank you, Ling. That was very thoughtful of you to reply so quickly. It's always a pleasure to watch you cook. Your healthy cooking is better than any Chinese or American restaurant where Asian cuisine is prepared. Native Asian cuisine, prepared with healthy cooking oils, and without an abundance of salt and sugar, is very difficult to find. That's been my experience having relocating to FL. Thanks again, and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Wonderful dish, just like everything you prepare. This is a very basic question because I am a beginner cook at best. Did you cover and steam the vegetables or did you just boil them without a cover? Thank you and God Bless!

  • @peterdoe2617

How easy was that? Sure gonna try it.
A thing I used to do to have dinner at work was to make broccoli with oyster sauce: cooking the sauce at home the evening before. Microwave the broccoli with just a few drops of water at work. Poured my sauce over it. The hot broccoli will warm up the sauce: an almost freshly cooked meal at work. This might even work with some precooked rice below the broccoli.
And surely with this teriyaki sauce, too.
The salmon in this would not be crispy anymore and overcooked. But for the veggies? I'd like to hear from others.
Greetings from the far north of Germany!

@@ChineseHealthyCook Sure is! And in research of it I just found masterchef Hiroyuki Terada with 5 versions of making DIY teriyaki sauce. (I always like to dive in deep into variations of recipes. The results are amazing, sometimes. And provide a deeper understanding of the concept of the recipe, resulting in beeing able to "play" with the ingredients. Like when I wanted to make my favourite chicken wings. And my daughter told me she didn't like soy sauce. Ouch! And I replaced the soy sauce with black bean sauce. And she liked it. Success :-)

@@ChineseHealthyCook I do as well, so you can separate a portion of the sauce to put on top later. But you should always marinate the salmon first, that is a basic step in making salmon teriyaki.
