I love these segments, because its essentially Dave Meltzer's villain origin story.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🎯 that part
👅
Dave was always a villain
Dave accusing someone of reporting false information and using their opinions as facts has to be the biggest pot calling the kettle black moment I’ve ever heard
Must be a liberal
Dave Alzheimeltzer accusing someone else for marketing theit own personal opinons as facts and making stuff up? You can´t make this shit up!
The irony is Dave was doing it in his news letter then too.
Been calling him Dave Meltzheimers😂😂
You know that cornette used to comment bear wrestling matches alongside unca dave?
@@mattgarcia2519haha yeah I was just thinking "hmmm how bout Meltzheimer"
That is like the most ultimate example of disconnection I’ve ever seen. 😂
Its essentially become a Trilogy on the History of how Trolling began
Judges would also have accepted "Oh my God, looking back now, come to think of it he's ALWAYS been crazy"
$2 for 1 issue or $13 for 6 cracked me up
@joshhildreth I'm beginning to doubt he got a passing grade for the grading wrestling properly class
$2.16666667 per issue…uhhmmmmm ….Match!!
There was a bar near where I live that sold their specialty shot "a buck a piece or 4 for $5". Always amazed at how many people said "ok, give me four!" 😂
Imagine valuing a guy’s opinion who rates Omega,Ospreay and Okada higher than Bret Hart,Shawn Michaels & Kurt Angle smh
RVD does everything those jobbers do but better and with psychology, yet Meltzer never considered him in any conversation.
An old man once told me that action stars used to be bad asses trying to be actors. Nowadays it’s a bunch of actors trying to be bad asses. Same applies to wrestling for me.
The reviews of AEW and WWE are fun, but these along with guess the program or when Jim goes over his books from when he was on the road are THE BEST.
100%!
These from the files videos are always great DING lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They also show that Meltzer was always a hack.
@@matthewhostetter8974then now forever lol.
Uncle Dave last month: WWE is playing "dirty tactics" for counting streaming numbers on Peacock when reporting SNME ratings.
Uncle Dave since AEW started streaming on MAX: Since there are X number of viewers watching it on MAX, AEW's ratings aren't falling and not bad at all.
The Meltzer Files. Sounds like a program NBC would have rejected in the 70’s.
X-files spinoff, Dave looks like could be Cigarette smoking Man's brother.
Meltzer litterally treating Vince like he does Tony Kahn now 😂
Then Vince saw who Meltzer was and blacklisted him attending ppv’s. Hence his hatred towards WWE.
@@keeganhurley119Did he really ban Meltzer?
@@bobbyb5546 yes, Meltzer was always into Vince.
Yup, JBL mentioned that Bruce took joy to troll Uncle Dave so they can discredit him as fraud @@bobbyb5546
21:25 Norm expressed my exact issue with Dave and his stars 😂
And in 1 hours time...... Jim has more viewers than AEW can fill there there attendance for shows lmao
Damn, Dave could NEVER write. He hasn't gotten worse recently, he just never got any better...
A better trilogy than the Star Wars sequels
Speaking as someone that had a liver transplant 4 years ago. Jim's info ad is straight on 👍
Please keep doing this it fucking hilarious
Quickly becoming my favorite segment
Imagine life without this podcast. Actually don't, it's too harrowing.
I wouldnt miss it
We wouldn't miss you@jabrockobiden9434
I dread the day it eventually comes. But I tell myself that we’ll always have the UA-cam archive.
It's called a radio.
Is anyone saving these?
My new favorite segment
The Joe Walsh album title sums up trying to talk sense to Dave Meltzer: "You Can't Argue with a Sick Mind".
Dave "2 for a $1.00 or 4 for $100" Meltzer.
I didn’t read what you said in a faux-Indian accent. honest….no really…..oh forget it I obviously did, now I’m going to find an Indian and give them a hug and an apology with no explanation….
His exchange rate is like stars. The more he gives the more he thinks it means
Meltzer is a chump
This needs to become an omnibus, once Jim and Bryan have gone through everything, it’s hilarious
Can't get enough of these
Dave Meltzer has never wrestled, he's never promoted, he's never booked, he's never "officially" been a part of any wrestling promotion in any capacity. He's never produced or formatted television, he's never promoted a show. And somehow Dave thinks he's the greatest living expert in all of it.
If Dave just sold it like his opinion, I could defend him, but he doesn't he treats his opinion like facts, and somehow people buy into it
you can say the same thing about Brian...
He's like that annoying back seat driver who rides with you in the car as a passenger and criticizes everything you do but has never driven a car themselves. It's easy to talk smack as an "Observer", pun fully intended, but getting behind the wheel yourself is a totally different thing and you don't learn how to drive until you actually start doing it.
@davey3884 Brian to me gets a little annoying. However when he's discussing what he likes or dislikes about something it is his clearly his opinion. And when says the television production is good or bad it's usually followed up with why he thinks it is as a VIEWER. Dave immediately starts in on they should be doing x, y and z. Or hey they can't get the finish in on time, my DVR freezes thats a problem. Dave goes well it's not a problem you just don't know how to watch television.
@@davey3884 sicko neckbeard got triggered
"From the Files - Dave Meltzer" !! My new favorite segment!!
'David Meltzer' I laughed
For such a scathing letter to Norm from Dave, Norm's response was quite measured and eloquent. Plus, it was easier to take in than Dave's lol
I wonder how many were dumb enough to get the "6 copies for $13" thinking it was the better deal?😂
Not many. We could do mathematics back then
@richardupton8167 Dave couldn't, unfortunately.😂
It's been 40 years since Wrestlemania 3 and Dave is still harping about the attendance numbers, but looks the other way when AEW does the exact same thing today.
George The Animal Steel was my dad’s gym teacher in the 70s
Did I hear that ad right? Did the "sluggish liver" quacks proudly include a study in the ad saying their snake oil _reduced_ liver enzymes in 86% of subjects? "Now you can enjoy the symptoms of cirrhosis without all that pesky euphoria and confidence that comes with hard alcoholism!"😂I look forward to future ads for their product, I sense the potential for Jim to have a lot of fun with them. I hope they give Jim & Brian a shitload of money before inevitably going out of business, whether it fails naturally or is forced to shut down by lawsuits and/or the FDA.
Here's the next omnibus
16:14 “he (McMahon Jr.) doesnt lack talent, he just doesnt use the talent he has well.” Kinda sounds like Tony Khan not gonna lie. AEW still blows tip.
That's true but from opposite directions. McMahon actively discouraged his top stars from working to their full capabilities in ring (look at Hogan in Japan) and focused on the larger than life personalities/showbiz aspect. Tony has all the 5 star dream matches with no build/story that will be forgotten quickly.
That's pretty cool to hear Jim.Talk about Minnesota, I'm from Minnesota.
Jim doesn't talk about Minnesota and AW.A A lot
Sup! Was thinking the same thing. Would be really cool to hear some stories about Handsome Stan Mayslack if Jim knows of any.
We needed this guy before the internet. One crazy man who could write 100 pages aweek on everything going on in wrestling was a very valuable service and Dave should get a ribbon and be put on a glacier.
“Ratings are simply opinions that are not valid”
Radar O'Reilly was from Ottumwa Iowa.
God, even back in the day, Meltzer was an insufferable ass to write and communicate with
Meltzer bashing aside, that info on what WWF and New Japan were doing to decide an undisputed world champion is good stuff. I never knew that was the plan with the original IWGP tournaments and the WWF title
Meltzer is a petulant child
dave defending wwf makes sense. he's already getting a direct communication pipeline with him by that point. in the past he's spoken many times about how he and vince used to talk up to the point that the wwf really took off and vince didnt need him anymore so he cut him off. so vince jr was dave's original tony khan.
they both used their fathers to get into wrestling, veterans that have been around wrestling see them squandering talent while at the same time trying to overpay talent to take them away from the competition and knew that the way they wanted to book wrestling would fundamentally change wrestling for the worst. and they both have dave meltzer spearheading their propaganda campaigns.
Facts, except one was successful, and the other one keeps his ship afloat on daddy's cash. I guess Tony is the Lance Stroll of wrestling.
$2 each or $13 for 6. 😂😅
Being from the state, it is always awsome to hear about the AWA from Jim. Would love to hear some stories about Stan Mayslack (Stashu Maslajek) or about Baron Von Raschke.
That Liver advert was hilarious 😂
Shilling from 26:10
Uncle dave $2 for 1 issue or my ( special deal ) $13 for 6.
Uncle dave must of learned that one from heyman's playbook how to CON a DOLLAR.lol!!!!!
Hmm. So Norm Kietzer telling Vince no led to the creation of the WWF Magazine, which gave Shitstain Russo his first job in the WWF, which put him in Vince McMahon's orbit. The origin story.
More of the Early Days of the Mental Gynmastics by Meltzer and proving he was always a hack.
So glad Brian bought the rights to all this.
Eat.
Sleep.
Hoax.
Repeat.
20:30- 21:21. Lol wow.
Dave in 1985: The best gUUUYYYYY is Vinny Mac!
20:34 Well geez. This sure seems important this day and age.
Imagine being this Norm guy and having to deal with this dork from San Jose every other week… and his 25 pages of stream -of-consciousness ADHD babble.
These Meltzer drawings are starting to resemble Joey Diaz.
When Meltzer speaks about Jim these days, Brian and Jim will say something like "He can't just let us be. He has to keep talking about us". Then Jim and Brian do a segment like this...
I just spotted an AEW fan in the wild
@@theophrastusbombastus1359 I am a fan of this channel, not AEW. Just calling it like I see it.
@wonderface334 Is that you Dave?
To be fair, when Dave talks about them, it's usually just him whining about their criticism of AEW. In contrast, this is technically a reading of historical record that happens to feature Unca Dave.
@ Come now, I use punctuation. 😉
Meltzer inferno
dave is the cnn of wrestling
*Why is his toilet paper rag a dollar more, if you buy the bundle?*
From the files of Police Squad!
Finally part 2 lol
Dave is the DarkSydePhil of journalism. All ego. No talent. No accountability. Just one of the first to do it.
You know, these videos have really changed how I see Dave. He never lost his mind, he's the same person he's always been. An arrogant blowhard who thinks he knows everything about wrestling and anyone who disagrees with him is dumber than him. Dave is living proof that being a nerd about something does not make you an expert. It's no wonder he loves Tony Khan so much. Tony is who Dave always wanted to be.
You think they specifically are reading these on the podcast because they know Dave listens to the podcast? Subtle jabs if you will?
No, it's interesting in brings in views.
Your liver falling out of your WHAT? And I thought kidney stones were hell.
Even if we didn't get the rest of the files, we had a good idea of what was coming. As I stated before, Steiner math is accurate equations based on flawed premises. Meltzer math omits numbers and the occurrences based on them entire to tell a false story. Steiner math is funny, Meltzer math is frustrating.
Hey Brian, it's not pronounced TORENAMENT!
It is... in Lonn Gyland!
He’s the only person I’ve ever heard say it like Daniel Larusso.
I think the takeaway here is that ol' Uncle Dave has always been full of Russo.
So what you're saying is Norm Kietzer by not wanting to only cover the WWF inadvertently lead to Vince Russo.
Meltzer never added anything positive to wrestling
Say your a 🐏 🐑 angry mob without saying anything.
Norm has more true factual information here than Meltzer and he is more pure in telling Dave in no terms of I'm up in Verne's neck of the woods and these are the facts I know about Vince trying to muscle his way into a very niche market which if it had been run right, it could have given Vince a run for his money because I remember growing up going to WWE events in Richfield Coliseum since Manhattan is eight hours from Cleveland Ohio, which was one of the first markets Vince took over from Verne who still had a presence there, but not as strong and well advertised as Vince who frequently ran multiple shows there making it easy for us to get tickets to the events.
The tapes Dave trades would get him in trouble with the FBI.
Dave’s math is as good as his spelling, I see. If I had known all this in 1984, I would have started a wrestling newsletter. I was only 5 years old, but I was still a better writer.
2 dollars for one issue or 2.16 each for six? Isn’t the bundle supposed to have the discounted price to incentivize buying the bundle?
This math is literally not mathing.
Damn, Dave is still alive I see.
14th commenter right here 💪
Dave's letter was way more entertaining
I wonder if uncle Dave listens to these ?
I hope the Jim's liver doesn't fall out where he said! 😱
What a weird, weird, weird man.
if norm was so right about the AWA why did they go out of business?smfh
All the territories went out of business eventually. They were still doing well in 84 like they said. After that, it started to go kaput. Everybody of importance left for the greener pastures of the WWF, and Verne's style of promoting became obsolete. He also didn't pay guys or screwed them out of money. He kept it going as long as he could by borrowing off his property on Lake Minnetonka. But once he lost that due to eminent domain, he couldn't afford to finance it anymore and finally threw in the towel.
And Vince won in the end and no one now in modern era know Norm name
Random chance of being first.
Lovely. You were certainly in the first minute, can't tell better than that. But I appreciate the awareness.
NERD ALERT
@@totallybored5526 Isn't that Random Task?

Damn the reply was written the day I was born (9/14/84)wow
Meltzer is the Jon Heyman of wrestling - Brian will know who that is

Dave's fanboyism origin story
Hogan 6'7" Hogan's lies rubbing off on Corny
I miss the days when Jim had a co-host instead of a boss....
More from the sticky pages of Dave Meltzer’s Files
Who cares about this? Clearly, Brian loves this nonsense . We get it. Meltzer is a hack
Is Dave on the spectrum?
I thought it was obvious.
Bored of this crap now
I've noticed Brian always says something is written weird when he can't read properly 😂😂😂😂 don't blame the person writing it last
