Enjoy the set of me vs zaf from the CPT World Warrior East Coast 1 while he complains about Modern Controls. #streetfighter6 #sf6 #lily #streetfighter #スト6 #modern
Here's something I learned when playing YOMI Hustle. New players often are afraid of playing fighting games BECAUSE of the controls of old. It's one of the factors that intimidates them from actually playing the game online. (That's what makes YOMI Hustle a great fighting game: it becomes a game of chess where you don't need to worry about the inputs) So Capcom making the option, not the change, to have modern controls akin to Smash, helps new players a lot. I find the Smash competitive so huge because of the ease of the controls compared to most other fighting games. The simple controls gets more people in, and those wanting to master those controls into competitive. It's why Pokémon is such a big competitive RPG: it's simple in understanding. Modern controls in SF6, sure, you can say they're training wheels, but then there's also the fact modern controls has a disadvantage. That being they cannot perform variants of other moves that have variants. Some modern movesets do not allow light punch variant when you really want it. Those on Classic have more options in their disposal compared to Modern. (This is, to me, a sort of motivator for the newcomer to start entering Classic controls once they feel like going classic and want more options in their disposal. Heck perhaps this modern controls downside is why it's allowed in comp) So the fact this guy is losing to a person who has a literal disadvantage and calling Modern Controls garbage. Sir, that is a certified skill issue. And this isn't adding on my other viewpoint being skill in fighting games doesn't come down to control inputs, but rather the vast other factors like reaction to situations for combos or evasive maneuvers and knowledge of the frame data.
If you’re afraid to hit training mode.. then stay off the game, I don’t understand catering to literal scrubs.. I had a lot of fun mastering street fighter when I first got into it around 2012.. why skip that fun because I’m intimidated or afraid of learning and opt into a scrub way of playing.. it’s extremely soft and lame
no matter how you see modern, the guy has a point! one thing people never mention is modern makes the mental stack alot easier to handle. Sure, modern can do one button supers, specials, etc. But the biggest advantage that barely anyone talks about is the mental stack. In classic, you need to split your brain to see DI, and play your fundamentals. In modern (i have played both), I have that extra space to see DI and DR coming my way, as I don't need to worry about my inputs or DP reactions. Like in classic, for example, 7/10 i'll DP, mentally exhausting as I need to watch the air and ground, and spacing. In modern, i will DP 9.5/10 with easssseee. No need to think about it, its so easy and i have that extra resource mentally to watch for DIs, etc.
Yea. I honestly dislike fighting modern too, but Zaferino here is acting much too childish. Despite what you said, classic is generally the better pick. Modern allows you to handle mental stack with less effort, but in turn you're missing a part of your character's kit.
But at the same time I feel like dp antiair is overvalued. Don't get me wrong of course it's important and is better than antiair with a normal but as you said mental stack is bigger. I don't think if you resort to normal antiair in some situations to ease your mental stack you are bad or anything, it's ok to not do so absolutely every time. And honestly losing a part of your kit is far worse than having those dp or instant supers, also few characters are really able to use modern without losing a lot
People losing and blaming modern controls still don’t understand that they’re unintentionally admitting to being very good at button timing and absolutely horrendous at everything else in fighting games
@@Chato13 Or just quit modern fgs and play real fighting fames. Just cause something is "new" doesn't mean shit. These new games are all instant gratification and literally awards scrub players... Instead of THEM adapting and getting good.
sounds like someone can't adapt. Modern is efficient on SOME characters but the truth is that it's a disadvantage, it's annoying to fight sometimes but you just need to learn how to fight modern. You could not be further from the truth with this whole "these games reward scrubs instead of making them adapt" if that's the case why are the same top players consistently placing high??? You don't see "random scrubs" winning competition lol
One thing i will say about modern playes is 90% of them really want to press a button, and they want to punish you with 1 buttons' special moves. Cant give them shit in neutral. Being random or guessing vs them is inherently more dangerous because they have less of a chance of flubbing a command.
Another Street Fighter grandpa is proving to be weak mentally. Bruh if you spend your entire life in this game and still lose to a player with wheelchair instead of legs - maybe it's just you having a lack of skill, and instead of learning how to play against modern you just blaming everyone for being "cheap" like an average scrub
So instead of bad players getting good and adapting to good players... We all have to adapt to bad players and have to "accept them". Before you say "well don't play the game" trust me I am not buying this piece of shit game that forces us to adapt to players that fn suck and aren't into training.
I still can’t believe people think it matters whether someone is on Classic or Modern, the game is about making adaptations and if you don’t make the right adaptations you’re going to lose, regardless of what control scheme the other person’s using
This is such a lame attitude to have towards fighting games. Just say you can't keep up, Modern players are literally playing the exact same games as you, dude 😂🤦🏿♂️
I don't touch a fg that forces one button modern controls, I don't support the literal death of fighting games.. Tbh why do you even play this garbage? Just quit sf6 and play better games
Sf6 is a phenomenal game that's garnered more attention than any other traditional fighting game has in decades. Grow up. Modern isn't ruining the game. It isn't even a common pick at high level play
@@blueicydasani4543 I think modern is annoying to fight on certain characters but it's not optimal by any means, these people can talk shit all they want but they know deep down they're wrong because you don't see "random scrubs" winning anything, it's still the same players. What these guys don't talk about is how older games are full of bullshit lol, especially sf4, SF3 and classic games in general (which I've played). I love them all but people trying to bring down new games and praising broken games is hilarious to me.
Modern is a proven disadvantage, never understood the hate.
Dude is a dhalsim main but he’s mad that modern doesn’t allow him to play the game. You can’t make this shit up!😂

I love seeing tears abut Modern controls. Well done Chato
Unc need to relax
Seethe and lose to Modern lmao
As a modern player I get hate a lot 😂😂😂
Did you run sets after WW?
Btw, thanks for the share. Needed some salt with my Steak for lunch today.
Nah
Modern is good for new players but not for competitions imo
You’re the best! Thank you for this 🙏🏾

what I'm saying bro it's so annoying to watch ppl complain like this 😭
