6:17 ... that gave me uber chills as a kid listening to that part right there, i wish there was an extended/continued version of that part alone. god i love powerful organ music.....
In all the excitement, Disney seemed to have omitted a screen credit for the composer of this amazing masterpiece. It is one of the wittiest, most effective and well-executed scores ever committed to the screen. Leigh Harline did a lot of music for Disney - is this his work? If so, he deserves our attention, respect and reconsideration. Shame on Walt for not mentioning this outstanding musician in the credits for a cartoon called "Music Land"!
@NitsuevoIII funny is that when the simphony is attacking, the sound the organ does when "shooting" is anotehr classic "war song", this casek, the valkirie opera
Great! In reality, the Bridge of Harmony was built by George Gershwin, indeed he composed symphonies including "An American In Paris" Rhapsodies as "Rhapsody in Blue", as well as Jazz like "Strike Up The Band" and Blues like "Summertime" sang later by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
@PimpMyBanana and btw, notice how symphony land is shaped like that Sol simbol in the beggining of a partiture while the jazz land is shaped like a sax ^^
@dominustecum your welcome ^^ I also keep imagining how was to make this episode's character's "voices" like making a violin laughs or a cello says "I do" xD
@realar The problem isn't so much that the pitch is usually wrong, but that the tempo is wrong as well (by the same ratio). Funny story here: When screeners of the film Once were circulating prior to the Academy Awards, they had been transferred from a 25 frame format to 24 fr. and played a half-step lower and too slow. The music won the Oscar anyway, which leaves us with the question as to whether it would have won if it have been playing at the correct speed!
A good looking transfer. And, unlike other versions on the web, playing at the correct speed. (You can tell because the Wagner at 6:19 should be in B minor - which it is here. Most other posted version play it in C minor.)
At one tine 'War Tubas' actually existed. They were used to detect enemy aircraft before the invention of radar. (Not used offensively as in this cartoon.)
i like very much the sound that the father does on 5:30 like " this is war, everybody get ready!!" but it is kind of familiar to me, i heard it somewhere. It's part of a song, a musical or i'm just imaginating things?
now I noticed something funny....the musical notes from the king's army are the USA's flag's while the Queen's looks like Germany's, is thsi m imagination O_o?
@PimpMyBanana but they are not only black, bu a darkish red, and remember that Disney was sided with the americans (obviously, they ARE americans xD) during the second world war :) and they are praticly the champions in subliminal messages xD (but in this case the message is weaker since the classical land is not the villain)
I dare anyone to try and re-orchestrate the music of this classic cartoon perfectly. :)
Who conceived this cartoon: the script, the details and the score, was a genius.
Who Needs Rap Battles When U Got Jazz And Symphony
whenever i watch this one, I cna only imagine how it must have been fun to play the violin and the sax as their "lines" xD

That was lovely, superb creative work.
how sweet is this made?! i love how the instruments "speak" :) and the pastor is a double bass? thats so epic, i like it a lot!!!
ow em gee, I've been looking for this like FOREVER O: cant say how much I'm happy for finding it =D
This episode is in the special content of the eighth classic Disney "Make Mine Music" (1946)
I remember when I was a kid, singing the tune at 4:48 with the "BLORP" note at the end.
This is fantastic! Great cartoon!
@QWeirdness Finally someone who notices pitch differences, many apparently don't notice.
I remember this! wow, I cant remeber what happened 3 days ago... but I remember this. Strange

Ah remember as childhood thx
Love the Double Bass Preacher ^^
Great stuff. The song at 4:48 is, I believe, "The Prisoner's Song" made super popular in the 1920s by Vernon Dalhart. How appropriate!

Not only that, but the tone the Queen Violin uses to fire up her organ-nons is Wagner's "Ride of the Walkyres".
This my favorite Silly Symphony. I always thought the king of the isle of jazz looked like Paul Whiteman.
The saxes remind me sooooo much of Tubby the Tuba.

@MrKlausbaudelaire It's called a "Trebel Cleff" Sign. (pardon my spelling if it's wrong)

Right on. Fight with music note. lol
Oops, my bad. Will fix it now. Thanks! And I agree, this is such a cute cartoon!

I was 4 the first time I saw this. I loved the music made by the pipe organs during the attack. Now I'm 30 and I can't stop listening to Wagner.
Mini Classic Disney's Peter and the Wolf
so cute like romeo and juliet awww.....
Ahhhhh! Attack of the pipe organs :0
@TheGerman6th
well, more precisely from whole europe, rather than just germany
Yuer Yued, music laying in bed all weekend but next?
@masterclassicalmusic Minuet in G, WoO 10 No. 2 by Beethoven. Originally for piano.
Anyone else notice that the King of the Isle of Jazz looks quite a bit like the real-life "King of Jazz" Paul Whiteman?
A cello, you say? *Octavia pops up*
i like very much the sound that the father does on 5:30 like " this is war, everybody get ready!!"
but it is kind of familiar to me, i heard it somewhere. It's part of a song, a musical or i'm just imaginating things?
haha, I know, I even comented that as well to someone else here ^^ (also, she is a cello, not a violin)

Behind The Scenes Sebentar Tadi
What's next rock n roll? Or maybe pop?
Thumbs up if you think this would be an interesting premise for a Pixar film.
@dominustecum
I think is kinda stereotipical the groom be nervous in the wedding
When she hops inside a cello at 4:50..wouldn´t that be liking sailing on a corpse?
what is the pieces of 0:28 to 1:16 and composer please?
What is the song that the Isle of Jazz plays during the war?
Does anyone knows the Jazz song?
thumbs if you seen something like this in Epic Mickey 2
now I noticed something funny....the musical notes from the king's army are the USA's flag's while the Queen's looks like Germany's, is thsi m imagination O_o?
@jsl151850b we can say that was a good pun, however
@PimpMyBanana

@F1315NJ It would make them half-siblings. In any case, isn't this cartoon promoting incest.

@Daesification
