To pay tribute to those who have inspired my proa: - Kiribati people for vaka shape of first proa - Builders of Eniveatok Valap for ama-aka suspension solution and some tips to make new vaka more seaworthy - Micronesians and Taumako for sail shaping, continuously :) It is hard to copy as there are no available plans - one have to re-engineer a design inspired by old traditions from Pacific. It is very sad we observe so little interest in making live the genial heritage of ancestors to Tongans and Fijians.
segelreto Share the invaluable experience of building this prota type can you? I'm interested in the length of the width and height of the canoe? And how to attach the sail from below?))))
when the british met the polynesians, polynesians could have shattered every olympic swimming record. the british were promoting some strange and lopsided 'gentlemanly' method of swimming at the time. ;)
Pacific Islanders came up with canoe build, now every one wanted to be are Pacific Islanders canoe build. hahahahahaha European always copy the Pacific Islanders canoe build.
