So cool. Something anyone can enjoy doing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Perfect! Short, sweet, and right to the point! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
thank you for this! I have a very unique Art idea and have been researching. when you are painting on the glass... mine will be in a frame, however I'll need to wipe off any finger prints after.. will the paint stay? I am assuming yes if you did it on a drinking glass? do you seal it with anything?
not all glass is oven safe. you need to know if the glass has a temp limit.
What brand brush are you using? Or brands to be used?
Hi Linda! We offer a paintbrush set specifically designed for the Americana Gloss Enamels shop.decoart.com/americana-gloss-enamels-brushes, we also offer a variety of other brushes that are suitable for glass painting shop.decoart.com/decoart-traditions-brushes
Do you put it on a cookie sheet or just on the rack to bake?
Hello! Thank you for your question! A cookie sheet is recommended to keep the project safe. However, putting it directly on the rack could work as well.
Thx for the help :)
Happy to help!
Why are there no subtitles?
What paint do you use
I don't particularly like that the glass paint is so opaque. Can you thin it so it becomes more transparent when your finished piece is brought up against a light? Thanks
You can and if you use more pressure when applying the paint - you get a more transparent look to as well
acrylic paint is less opaque. can e set w a spray or lacquer/ varnish. hope that helps
does the paint have to be those ones or can it be acrylic?
Regular acrylic paint will not be permanent on glass. Use it for painting on porous surfaces such as wood or canvas. For painting on glass to be permanent & washable there are special paints, such as: gloss enamels, multi-surface acrylics, glass paint, etc.
If you bake it in the oven do you have to cure it for 24 hours before?
Yes you do. We reccomend at least 4 days, just to be on the safe side with any heightened humidity or other fctors that can impact cure time. Then you follow these instructiosn to bake: For top-rack, dishwasher- safe finish,. Place the piece in a cool oven, set temperature to 325°F, bake for 30 minutes, then allow the object to cool with the oven door partially open. Not for food contact surfaces.
@@DecoArtPaint What happens if you bake it after 1 hour of drying?
@@heidistuttard466 Hi Heidi. Thanks for your question. It's really important to allow the paint to 'cure' not just 'dry'. Dry time is the recommended length of time between coats of product, and cure time is the length of time recommended before subjecting your finished project to daily use. We recommend about 4 days cure time. Always follow label instructions for best results. Happy crafting!
Can you bake it on the oven with the paint side down? I'm making ornaments on flat pieces of glass and I want both sides of the glass painted.
Hi, thanks for your question! It's best to paint one side at a time to ensure that it doesn't get ruined in the curing process!
@@DecoArtPaint thanks!
