  • Join us for out first big road trip of 2020! Since going abroad is proving problematical with all the quarantine implications we decided to explore some more of our beautiful countryside - and where better than the lovely Yorkshire Dales! Episode 1 focuses on getting there. We ride through some amazing parts of the Peak District, past Chatsworth House (a must see if you haven't yet), The Ladybower Reservoir in a forlorn attempt to see the famous dam that was used by the Dambusters (617 Squadron) in 1943 to practice dropping the bouncing bomb. We pass through biker friendly, Matlock Bath and up through the industrial north to the delightful village of Haworth - home to the Bronte Sisters. All together, great riding, great food and excellent beer! If you enjoy our latest video please give us a thumbs up and if you subscribe, remember to hit the notification bell so you'll be reminded of our latest uploads! you were lucky you wern't in haworth during the 40's weekend, though i think it was cancelled during the year you were there, you can't move up the main street for fowk in uniform, i live only 3 miles from there and we tend to keep away from the place in summer, you should have walked down to the station though and had a look at the steam railway, famous for the film the railway children and others, this year they have just finished filming the second railway children film on the line. a great place to ride, the dales and surrounding area's our playground, ride safe.

Great video, it’s a shame you didn’t go through bakewell, next time I can really recommend staying in bakewell rather than cromford
    It’s a beautiful village .
Also a shame about the dam, it you’d have turned left from the bridge and first right over the next bridge, you would have found the derwent dam , that’s the dam they practiced on .
The dam is the mrs favourite place to ride out to for a coffee and cake .

Wow this has to be one of the best yet ,the editing was absolutely amazing. I was looking out for me as I live only 15 minutes away from Cromford! What a pity you missed out on seeing the dam it is a fabulous sight especially after heavy rain to see the water cascading over it. My wife used to work there at the cycle hire centre at the side of it. If you had turned left at the lights at 17.19 travelled over the bridge then turned right it would have taken you there, it is the next reservoir up the valley. As for the Strines this is one of the great biking roads in the area and whenever I get the chance I use it to miss out Sheffield when returning empty in the lorry. Really enjoyed this, thank you. Hi Sue. As you can probably see from the videos, I go for comfort and convenience rather than glamour 😀 I tend to tie it into a low pony tail to stop it getting knotted up but can never escape the inevitable ‘hat hair’ that goes with a helmet. I have a set of mini mobile straighteners that fit into the bike bag so, on the days I haven’t got time to wash my hair, I use those - and lots of hairspray in an attempt to look vaguely human at wine and dinner time 😉 xx

And I'd be glad of any pointers. Can I also ask, how old was Sue when she started training for her CBT? My wife fancies doing it but is a bit nervous. I have been riding for over 30 years and I think she feels that she might be out of her depth.
