£35m for a player who has played the equivalent of 5 games in the last 2 seasons is great business.

He's 24 in a couple days, he's barely played in the last 2 seasons, contract winding down. It's incredible from a business perspective there's no denying it. Practically flipping him for Caliofiori. It's really quite a surprise that we are getting as much as we are for him.
I rate the talent so highly and I'll miss him. It's pretty heartbreaking. I think people really overdo it with "ESR was the turning point, he saved Arteta's job thing", but he was a massive part of the early turnaround. He's our boy and I think in the right team in the right role who could kill it. But it's just the sensible thing to do and I think we all know it. I also don't think he really fits anywhere in the lineup very neatly.
ESR must be gutted, but at least he will get to play, and I think if he conquers his (reported) confidence issues, he will shine. I think a run of games will do him the world of good. I hope he has a brilliant career. He is a gunner through and through.
I think the issue here is that people have a tough time reconciling the way that the team plays, and the roles, with the talent of ESR. I believe that he is a baller, a real talent (ie, he was higher than Saka ‘back in the day’ for me). But I do think that the ask for individual roles is a gap that ESR can’t quite bridge.
Said in another way: we can all imagine ESR playing the sport the way it makes sense in our heads. However, there are specific, auxiliary, attributes that Mikel and co look for when they build out roles. He doesn’t quite scratch what they are itching for.
All that and he also represents a good bit of business for the club if sold. :/

ESR came in and was great, but in a team that was what 8th? We are now looking to get those 2-3 extra points to win the league. Sad but it's time to move on.
ESR, Nelson and Nketiah hardly play. We could get £80million for them. Total profit to invest in 1-2 players who do actually play.

Did you watch Amario Cozier 2 goals for Brighton. We should have made him a Saka substitute or kept him with a promise of minutes for the first team. Brighton fans are excited to have him

Any good agent would not take a promise for minutes in Saka’s position seriously. Players at that age really need to play to improve.
Fulham are NOT paying for potential. ESR has a proven record in the premier league and his ability as a direct attacker is clear. He didn't play last season because other clubs recognize that Arteta prefers quicker duel winning types. ESR is one of the best at give and go get it into the box, but he is not an all-rounder. In the end I think it's a very fair price for both clubs and a win for everyone involved.
So all this chat proved that almost every body in fandom think the £35m is actually a fair price so who is trying to create a stream that does not exist ????
If ESR was at Chelsea, Liverpool or Man City. They would of got 40- 50 Million Pounds. 35 million is brilliant but for me it is Par or Below Par. If we tried to buy ESR from Fulham they would demand 50 Million Pounds

may be edu got 5 or 10 m in his personal account. we overpay to buy and sell at low price. he is either running a racket or he is shit at his job
All those players were playing regular football….ESR has started just 4games in 2years 35m is a steal….just take the money and run we don’t need to complain about everything
Lets not forget injuries / availability is a factor here. If ESR would have had 25 games under his belt this season, we could have ask more. But he has been out and we raised the level of our squad as we were pushing for a league title.

I’m tired of this lazy statement….player wanted to leave got good money for a 30+player 1year left on his contract it was good business….the disappointment was not signing an adequate replacement
