I know this is an old upload but I only just saw it. I enjoyed it so much . I can see myself in all those collectors. I am in the UK and have been collecting since I was about 12 . I am 82 now but still restore and enjoy old radios. I have sold a lot over the years but still have a collection of about 50 that I keep. There is so little over here on AM worth listening to so I play vintage music and shows via an MP3 player connected to the audio section via pick up sockets . I love the big consoles with push pull output and huge speakers . Thanks for uploading this amazing content. I presume it was a TV series in the 80s . Best wishes from the UK .
One of the great untold stories of WW2 involves the vast quantity of equipment, including radios, left behind by the British at Dunkirk. New radios had to be built quickly not only in England but also within the Commonwealth. One example is the Wireless #19. It was a AM & FM tank radio plus an intercom system. It was compact and could transmit & receive. For its time it was advanced but cheep to build using parts that were available in many places, parts that were often used with domestic electronics. Thought you would be interested. All the best from Canada.
I am putting up the masters of these 5 shows in a few weeks on the California Historical Radio site. I shot them on 3/4" but the masters were 1" to BETA SP. It should improve the quality.
Tesla was before Marconi. Marconi radio company literally invaded radio station in North Carolina nd stole all the equipment... In an early criminal attempt to fight Tesla's patents... So anyway, Marconi wasn't first. He was more commercially successful.
