20 minute dontae vid 😎 time to watch. edit: you seem like such an interesting teacher. organized...caring...basically my dream teacher lol. esp with the bit you said ab properly leading...good, supportive teachers are good, supportive leaders
Thank you! That means a lot. I had some bad teachers and a couple good ones growing up. I really put every experience I’ve ever had into every aspect of teaching. Leaders should constantly learn. Teachers should be willing to be taught. I want to do things the best way possible which means supporting others that may be able to teach me something.
I absolutely love this video - from the meticulously planned camera direction to your easygoing voiceover, it is such a treat to watch from start to finish! But most importantly, your passion for teaching and the care you have for your students is truly inspirational. Once, when I was a teenager, I considered becoming a teacher. You embody the qualities I aspired to have, which is perhaps why I keep coming back to your channel (besides my deep interest in Japan). But life got rough and I got roughed up good. I couldn't see myself going to university anymore. Nevertheless, my struggle with depression has yielded a silver lining - I can use my understanding of it to weave a story that will hopefully help others in similar positions. And since it's a visual story set in a school, I'm all too happy to use your videos for reference haha. Whether it's part of the Tokyo Diary series or not, I really enjoy this style of video.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I go through a bit of imposter syndrome, and writer's block. This comment helps more than you know. I also struggle with depression. The thread that binds my stories together are managing my feelings of pain, depression, and the myriad of other emotions that reflect on my daily life. Teaching kids English and helping them manage their own emotional understanding gives me plenty of reason to effectively managing my own. Thank you again for you comment. I will continue to do my best.
@@DontaeDakara You're doing fantastic! I appreciate you replying to my comment as well. Personally, I believe that people who have experienced pain themselves are better able to help others through pain, because they know exactly what it's like. I'm sure you'll be just fine and much more. I'll do my best on my end too hahaha.
WELCOME BACK! 1. You are so organized. 2. If you're 10 minutes early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. 3. Love the interaction with Thing 2.🤣 Great video!
Thank you. Thank you. Good to be back. Number 2, I learned from you. I just went a little extra because of Murphy’s Law. I’ll tell thing Thing 2 you said that. He’s basically family, we’ve been friends so long.
I’m filming the next video now, so I think it will be in March. I want to film each place within the flow of daily life as opposed to going there to film. It feels more natural that way.
I really enjoyed your lesson! You're really great at connecting with the kids. Did you ever have any issues with nervousness when teaching? How long did it take to become comfortable in the classroom?
I never had the nervousness, but I believe that was because I always loved the stage. I’m excited to put on a show and to get my students to share, then take the stage themselves. The bell chimes and it’s showtime. 😅. For me the comfort in actually teaching came from my understanding of what I wanted the outcome to be, and working from there. I know the curriculum, I know what I want my students to be able to do, and I know there will be obstacles. And the obstacles are what most teachers worry about. That’s the fun part to me. I think that the process is like riding a bike. You can do it or you can’t. The trick is what roads are closed on the way to your destination and how will you get there by the time that next bell rings.

Bruh you sent me down the Katori Walker rabbit hole…
I have used a Katori song on the last three videos.
