Watching this on my M1 MBA, I just can't get enough about the look and design of it. I'm loving it everyday. I wish Apple could keep this traditional design and replace with the new chip only. I really hate the notch and the shape of the new MBA! I will use this one until it no longer works just like my old one 2012 MBA.
Everything about this is great except for the pricing in India and Nepal.. won't even talk about Nepal but they were selling this for around INR 67000 during Diwali sale and now they're again asking 79000 .. like wtf . 12000 INR could be a deal breaker for many, it was for me at least.

I bought the MB Pro 13 M1 three years ago; it is the base model and has been great. For my usage, 8GB of RAM has been a smooth process, though you do have to manage cache sensibly. That means restarting Safari daily and closing unused tabs; that is common sense. For most ultrabook users, the M1 has been future-proofed for years, and unless you need extra features, then it remains a compelling cheaper Mac option.
That kinda sucks thinking even iPhone 14 and 15 does that part better then. Can have 50 windows open with no issue over time so I’m surprised but gives me a pointer 8gb not for me as I plan get a MacBook later this year. Cheers for your honesty
@@Cruella79 Yes, 16GB is the best choice and only go 8GB if you are a casual user or can monitor RAM and want to save money. I think the M4 MB Air/Pro 14 will have a base 12GB RAM, so that will be great next year for upgraders.

My prediction was correct that this Air will last forever because of that performance and price especially as it gets older where the price will go lower online. It is the best entry into the Mac world.

I bought it 2 years ago. And I write music with 50+ tracks. And it performs very satisfiable, despite even tough I should have 32GB Ram for perfect performance. Im still very happy with this laptop. And the performance is still as good as on day 1
I bought my first apple MBP M2…. Sold it after a week. The screen is very fragile… it is the panel then a ‘film’ on it. No hard plastic or anything… so basically it’s very fragile. A fingernail can scratch it… a breadcrumb when closing can break it. Replacement under warranty? No apple says ‘yeah we know it can break, but a crumb when closing is your fault, therefore no warranty’. Ridiculous!!!! No windows laptop has this issue, just widen the gap between the panel and the keyboard… Nope, just a margin thinner than a a4 paper. So a plastic screen protector puts pressure on the panel. And can break the panel as well. I miss that machine, that ONE flaw… broke my heart 😢
I’m a server engineer and currently using a 5th gen i3 Asus laptop it’s been 8 yrs and still performs well but I’m planning to add MacBook Air M1 as it’s replacement is this worth it because I know my Asus runs fine without much effort and I’m keeping it as backup so my question is do I really need to put extra money to get a newer version of MacBook Air or get MacBook Air M1 instead?

M1 Air (base variant) is good for almost everyone, except filmmakers/editors. 8gb RAM is a major issue with every Macbook Variant (M1, M2 or M3). Also, the current Indian pricing is just stupid. I bought it during Diwali 2021 sale for Rs. 69,000...a month later sold it for 67k, how come in 2024 Apple is charging 80K and people are Ok with it? At Windows side there are many machines with better designs and performance at the same price. But yes, in terms of battery...nothing comes closer to M-series chips.

well all mac 2017 or later has one issue. The rubber gasket around screen tends to come off or rubber melts by the time which cannot be replaced easily.

Hello ...I noticed that Apple is still selling the M1 MacBook Air from 2020. It seems like a pretty good deal for less demanding users. However, when looking at the macOS support table on Wikipedia*, it does not look like the M1 will be able to install many more future macOS versions. For example, the 2017 MacBook Air supports macOS only up to 2021. That’s five years. If the same ends up being true for the M1, that means that it will stop supporting macOS versions in 2026. In other words, if you get an M1 for Christmas this year, you’ll get two more yearly macOS updates in 2024 and 2025, and that’s it. That seems pretty low, considering that the version of Safari is tied to the version of macOS. Is there any indication that the M1 will have a longer macOS support period? I feel like I don’t want to buy it unless it supports macOS at least until 2027 (five years from now). Help me please

Yeah, it's not for everyone. I swapped about 8 years ago to macOS, and it took a good 6 months to bed in, learn the tricks, find the software and get it to how I wanted, but it is now great. Not everyone wants to invest time in changes and that is why Windows dominates, almost a natural monopoly due to consumers unwilling to try something different.

@@sia8930 On intel MacBooks you can use cracked softwares but, On M1, M2 series MacBooks you cant. Eventually you need to pay for softwares.
