I have a TA-100 and A-300 bi-amping some T2+ towers. They're absolutely phenomenal. Tons of power, great instrument separation, wide stage, plenty of detail. The setup cost me less than $2000 (not including a HSU sub I've had for years and years), and there's nothing it doesn't do well. It skews more energetic than refined. The sound is warm in a solid-state way, with plenty of air on top, and nothing shouty or offensive in the mid range. It's very impressive, and almost as musical as my Hifiman Arya headphones on a Cavalli Tube Hybrid. It's an incredible value.
@@Escko Believe me I was just as surprised... Yes, and it's the XT32 (newer Audyssey).. But to compare amplifiers I prefer doing it through direct, without any Audyssey.. Im running KEF R 700 floorspeakers.. Dont get me wrong, it doesnt sound terrible with the Emotiva, not at all... But the Denon itself makes the speakers sound more full, wider.. It also plays them deeper, without any kind of EQ/DSP/Audyssey "improvements"... I read somewhere that the signal out (from the Denon pre-out) is a little low for some power amplifiers.. But I wouldnt know... Anyhow, the Denon receiver is closer to $900, while the Emotiva poweramp is what.. $400 here in Sweden
I have heard some reviewers speak about matching gear and how that achieves good or better sound, it may be a bad match of gear for whatever reason...ie: speakers and amp don't sound as harmonious together...either way thx for replying and all the info
@@Kpaceguy Ok thanks so much! Obviously I'd love an XPA-2 Gen 3, but that's just too much $ for me right now, so I'll go ahead and give the A-300 a shot. Thanks for your video.
@@true_believer3548 yeah, thinking of the Denon x 3600h. I've only got the 2 channels and getting a subwoofer tomorrow. I'm using a Yamaha avr that has a pre out for a sub, do I use the sub pre out as the lfe to connect to the sub via RCA???
Just a tad bit better and the build quality is unmatched. There seems to be more detail andseparation in loud and low volumes. It's not a significant difference but it's a difference
I know you love movies 🎥 check out my favorite James Bond skuyfall I don’t think available in Dolby Atmos but the sound quality mixed and uncompressed, great movie 🎥
Thank you. What do you recommend, upgrading the main fronts amplification or the whole 5.1 base layer? I have 7.2.4 but my receiver rxa-3070 can power 9 channels only. So need an external amp to get my rear heights back.
@@peterwood2633 yes I did just the two front speakers which obviously makes sense for music but every other speaker falls behind. It's a different beast when every speaker is at its best performance.
@@Kpaceguy thanks, this info is impossible to find. I suppose if you do play two channel through a multichannel power amp it can then send a good amount of power only to those two speakers and raising stereo performance that way?
It's just me. I actually like your old mic more. Your voice through the old mic sounds soothing and is good balanced between your voice and the background sound. Your voice through the new mic sounds a little bit edgy and stands out a little too much. A little irritating. Nevertheless, good video!👍
I need an emotive that is 3000 watts for 3 channel. plus another emotive that is 1800 watts for my 4 surrounds plus another 1800 watts for the 4 atmos. overall I want 6600 watts to match my 7.2.4 system. add on the 4000 watts for the subs and I could max out my speakers with 10600 watts rms and 21200 max watts. is there anything out there that can provide what I want. I mean at that peak max volume you might go deaf in 1-5 minutes but I want to match my speakers abilities.
Your talking about peak power. That is the power that will distort and ruin all those nice speakers. Worry about the (r m s) true clean power. Good luck with it. Sounds like a nice system

I got my A-700 a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It is a noticeable audio upgrade from the built in amps of my denon X3400
got the same receiver. I am contemplating buying the A-700 but afraid that the sound upgrade not worth it on Klipsch speakers that are very efficient.
@@Escko I added the Emotiva A-300 to my Denon x3500h, and I must say the sound became worse...
Lol, not what I expected to hear, did you run Audyssey? What speakers do you have?

That was a great review bro. Thanks for posting.
I appreciate it
This amp is how I found your channel after I bought it 2 years ago looking to see if anybody did any reviews on it

Great video
I have one on the way!

Have you ever heard a gainclone amp? I'm curious how this Emotiva compares.
Never heard of it

Nice amp and nice review...! 👍🏾
Will the A-300 work ok to power a pair of Polk LSIM703'S? My avr powers them right now (so obviously underpowered).

Thinking of getting this but my av has no pre outs. Can I just use the amp to power my 2 fronts and not to connect to my av???
You'll have to find some way to bring signal to the amp

If you have a 5.1 setup or more, I would save the $400 that this amp costs and upgrade your AVR first. Just my 2cents!
