I'm suprised you did this outdoors. Furthermore, your video encourages other people to do the same...

Nice video, but I hope that people does this kind of jobs inside to keep the foam dust from spreading in the nature.

Nice grinder wheels...I use a paint stripper wheel and sandpaper.
I like to add a drain groove on the underside to help with sponging water from the boat.

I made mine almost exactly the same way ten years ago. I finished it with some fabric from a auto seat cover and contact adhesive. It fits my ass perfectly to this day. I can spend all day in it without getting sore.

would marine glue work for this? not sure what to use that won't melt the polyethylene or the foam.

@@jennysmith6604 I believe Marine glue would work. Spray-on contact adhesive melted neither for me.

Good work. Where did you get the foam. I am looking to make a solid backrest for my Hurricane Santee 116 kayak. The bottom is great, but a high back rest would complete the seating situation. Thanks.

Is minicel too hard for making a bench/upholstery in a van?

It is not important that the seat be soft if it is shaped right. You don't need much cushion when the shape is good.

It looks nice, but You are spreading a lot of MICRO-PLAST. Please consider a way to minimize this. Kayaking is about enjoying nature. Lets keep it clean. :-)
