I remember using one of these at my second job. Yours is in great shape.
Thank you for all your videos. I think you and other retro enthusiasts are doing a great service!
Thanks for the support!
Lovely example of a 145. Nice to see the hinges still intact and the back flap still in place!
Yes, those things don't often survive the rigors of time.
Nice video, I really love to see these history videos. This 145b looks great, didn't see deterioration of plastic which these are known for unfortunately. Still enjoy running System 7 on Basilisk II to toy around with from time to time, big fan of the operating system. The eyes thingie is a system extension fittingly called Eyeballs, by the way. :P
Thanks. Eyeballs. Now I know :-)
I bought one of these new. Cost a fortune at the time, but it was very useful. Not so useful these days, though. I wish i still had it just the same.
Hello. I have one too. It starts up. Shows mouse and i can move it around. But it does not start up the os.
Many of the early Mac laptops had passive matrix monochrome screens and god they were AWFUL. There was a whole line of Mac laptops that didn't include a floppy disc either, plus were passive matrix mono screens. Maybe called duo?
A well configured laptop Mac was a lot of money back then. Like 5 grand.
Those two eyes are a common on Unix systems. Originally called Xeyes. Someone must have ported it to the Mac. It's a nifty tool for finding the mouse cursor. I have a similair application on my Windows machine.
I see. That's interesting. I've never seen them on other machines.
