- I’m in South Africa travelling over 5000 km in a Volkswagen Mk1 Citi Golf, made in 2007. I found a junkyard near the CanpFest show, which I visited to try and find some trim pieces for my car. I was surprised with the amount of cars they had, so I shot this quick video.
Unfortunately I have left the yard, so I cannot help if you need any parts from there, but it is called Grobbies and is located in Bela Bela, Limpopo, about two hours north of Johannesburg.  - Авто та транспорт

My last Golf was the very last model manufactured in South Africa, only 1000 built. It had air bags, air conditioning, leather interior and a 1800 fuel injected motor. I'm so sorry I sold it. Great watching your content.👍

that black golf at 11:47 use to be my brother in law's around 2019 did notice it with red and the blue like green paint on the body and old number plate did stay about 28km from there in modimolle

The car at 14:07 , is a Alfa Romeo Giulietta , 77 - 85 .
And you missed the car at 17:32 , tucked away on the right hand side, it is a Rover SD1 .

Pro-Tip: Not very often, but on some occasion, the junkyards with all removable items taken off and kept aside with no reference to the donor vehicle can be sketchy...

the Nissan Skylines were sold here, My father had one, back then it was either a Toyota Cressida or Nissan Skyline very long cars but your dad was balling if they drove those.

The red coupe is a Datsun 140Z, great seeing you go through the yard. I haven't seen some of the older cars for ages. I'm also a VW fan, have had many golfs and jettas over the years.👍
That cressida must've been there for ages. I believe thats the old Limpopo numberplate. More than 20yeara back.

Orange coupe after the Fiat is a Datsun B 210.
I once saw a renault 5 in Durban. It was hilariously small, what was funnier is that the old man that hopped out of it was at least 1.9-2 metres tall XD

The Audi 100 (by you) was the Audi 400 /500 here. The 100, here, was the previous boxy (square-ish) shape. The 400 here, came with a 4 cylinder and the 500 with a 5 cyl. Then the 500 was "baseline" "e", more luxury se and the performance turbo models. The Passat CLi was the 5 cyl "Luxury" model. That Passat here came with the rectangular lights. All Golf 2 models came with single or double round headlights, and it was a known modification to swop grills and headlights (between the Jetta 2 which was basically a Golf 2 shape with a trunk /boot - sedan, and the Golf 2 - hatchback shape.) The Golf 2 was not available here as a 2 door. It was also known as a "Jumbo Golf". That one Lancia /Fiat you guessed, is an Alfa Romeo, about '84 model. The Golf 1, without the "L" in the C panel, started as the Golf 1, somewhere in the late (I think) 70s, the earlier shape, then upgraded to the Citi Golf, upgraded later with the "L" shape and other features, and ending in the Velocity. That Ssanyong is pronounced a SanJong Musso. That "boxy" Skyline, is known here as the New Era Skyline, and was manufactured here by Nissan. If you see, eg, "VW van SA" it will translate to Volkswagen of South Africa, same with the other manufacturers, like Nissan,Toyota, etc.
Renault still very popular in SA, the green car was a Fiat 132 and the number plate ending on N and L is the same province, they changed the name from Northen province to Limpopo. Nissan Skyline was build in SA. The Vin plate actually states in Afrikaans "Made in South Africa". Window cranks are so cheap and easy to find for Citi Golf.
That is a R31 Skyline, the R30 with the 4 circle rear lights are the super rare ones that were also sold new in SA

Yes, Skyline was very popular and you'd see thousands on the roads. I'm surprised by the amount of kadets I'm seeing, it's rare to find good body parts for them. Passat was very popular too, Cli was a five cylinder, very luxurious.👍
The Voyage next to the Fox looks like a Opel Kadet estate.👍

You missed the mazda 626 egi most iconic motor used for turbo back in the day.. and that nissan with the wing you liked is a sabre you dont see them in good condition anymore

I grew up in SA and remember seeing Nissan Skyline`s everywhere, the South African Police back in the day used to drive the 3L 4 door, painted yellow...
The airintake at 9:59 is also on my 83 preproduction mk2 GTI. As far as I know used on all the 84 modelyear mk2 gti
We did have the CLi passate and also the Skyline GTX - round tail lights with straight 6 engine
All this stored outside under the sky.... So many 116's...

We got the R30s and R31 skylines. Including the only R30 coupe that was sold outside of Japan.
