- Filmed on November 23, 2017: This is a VERY FIRST for me!!! :D Thanks to anthony020501 for discovering this. Never been on a home-styled elevator like this. Also, the church chapel itself is beautiful! Installed in 1992.

AWESOME FIND!!!! Congratulations on finding one of these!!!
Quite the elevator there. And yeah, a gap like that on the street level is a sure sign that the door could be opened, even if the elevator is not on that level and either someone could fall into the shaft like you stated or land on the elevator car if it's on the basement level and possibly get squished when the elevator's on the church level. Therefore, it takes having the outer swing door and inner sliding folding door to be adjacent so that the swing door is locked unless the elevator car is level there. Thankfully, those elevators function where the car cannot move unless the inner door is closed all the way.
although there's a huge gap there, the sensor will stop the elevator from moving. I didn't know MATOT made elevators too, only dumbwaiters.
Jowevator 3219 I noticed that too.
I never knew that there’s a sensor that could stop the elevator car.
JimLiElevators you can see it with the red light at 1:49 at the bottom of the door
Jowevator 3219 Oh I did not know that. Sorry that I am visually impaired.
JimLiElevators all good! We learn something new every day!
loved it so much
Hey jim! This is my first time seeing you in a home-styled elevator. The gap is big but dangerous. Disclaimer: NEVER EVER STAY IN SUCH GAPS FOR A LONG TIME!! SUCH BIG GAPS BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE GATE ARE VERY DANGEROUS!! Whenever you are in the big gap , BE CAREFUL!!!
This is a beautiful elevator.
Those are CJA fixtures I believe. Interesting how this opens directly into the outside. The gap's dangerous though.
Nice find
It should've been blessed by the priest when it was built
