Ross Hannaford is a certified aussie rock guitar legend. RIP. Gonna miss your insanely brilliant guitar magic...i was hooked the moment i heard this song and your playing in 1971.
I was learning to play guitar in 1971 and picked up quite a few licks from Daddy Cool's records. I had hair back then and it was virtually the same as Ross Wilson's.

Was the first concert my friends and I ever went to. Caught the bus from Swansea to Newcastle show ground, must’ve been around 71 , even took girls with us. Remember being totally mesmerised by Ross W singing and dancing in a baggy white suit and being blown away by Ross H’s playing - he was wearing a cap with a propeller on it 🙏. Great days - “come back again”🌌🥳
For a rehearsal the band sounds amazing, wow! Hearing the awesome sounding snare of Derek Pellicci, the super talented and truly awesome Ross Hannaford on guitar and Ross Wilson belting out two great tunes was a pleasure listening to.
Agree, Ross Hanna was such a big but subliminal part of our history, he was always politely in the back ground behind Ross Wilson, I am 66 and first saw the band at amoco hall in orange 1970, Hanna just hung in there supporting Ross Wilson!
Absolutely stunning. I will always love this song. I loved Daddy Cool, Ross Hannaford was such a great guitar player and singer but I love Ross Wilson.
Wow !!!!! Give me more if this music...classic....this is real music. Beats all the microphone crunchers of today's try hards who have no idea of writing songs or singing them.
How I dig Daddy Cool. Wilson and Hannaford had this uncanny knack of sounding brilliant with the two guitars plus their voices complimented each other on the chorus lines. Hope you're doin' a boogie upstairs Ross Hannaford. The fantastic rubber man RIP.
I walked into the Sarah Sands,Sydney Road, late 80’s and Ross Hannaford was playing Lafayette Rail Road! I couldn’t believe his broad appreciation and his artistry!
I was 11 in 1971 and at that time would have put SWEET CITY WOMAN by THE STAMPEDERS up against ANYTHING THEN...I didn't know of EAGLE ROCK by DADDY COOL at the time, and as CANADIAN as I am I must admit that EAGLE ROCK was an even better tune!
