You and you're videos are such an inspiration. I binged them, and now whenever I'm demotivated I throw one of your videos on and it helps get me back to drawing! Thanks.
I'm still trying to build up the courage to try oil (I have my paints, solvent and medium... I just haven't taken that step yet). I usually use acrylic but I'm hopeful the fact that you can blend more easily with oils will make it a revelation when I do jump into it. I would like to try a portrait but I also have some sunflowers growing in my garden at the moment so I might take my first steps with those. Love your work!
Yes go for it! If you're already experienced with acrylic you're mostly there - I find the butteryness and slow drying time makes it so much more fun. Cleanup isn't so fun though 😆 Good luck! Hope it goes well!
New to painting this was a wonderful video just trying to figure out if I start working with drawing first the work up to painting. Thanks again for this wonderful video.
@@DaveCurtis-b3u thankyou! ooh tough one! I only have regret not getting into it earlier because it’s such fun and I feel like I missed out . But it is messy and takes more energy/focus/time than sketching (plus there’s the learning curve) so depends whether the timing is right for you for that. Not sure if it’s an option for you but doing an in person workshop or evening class is a good way to dip a toe in if you fancy it 👍🏻
thankyou! I do! I like a 50/50 mix of liquin and linseed oil. or even better 50/25/25 of liquin/linseed/gamsol. I love both mixes more than just using gamsol bit unfortunately they do make a bit of a mess so I usually go for the easy/lazy route most of the time.
Hello Katie! I don't know if I understood correctly, you said you won the portraitist of the year competition, I watched most of the shows, can I have a link so I can watch (if I haven't) the episode with you? By the way, I'm making progress in portraits, slowly but I see progress.... Thanks for your effort, I appreciate it!
@katiemaeveart - Oh, sorry, I heard wrong, my mistake. I actually watched the video two days ago and now I'm asking, I misremembered ☹️ I'm watching on youtube by the way, I'll look it up and wish you better luck next time, Katie 👍
Was my pleasure to vote for your painting. Crossing my fingers for you 🍀
thanks Elizabeth!🤞🏻

I really enjoy your videos!
happy to hear that!
This is amazing. Also love your setup. Hi from Instagram 🥰
hello Tash! thankyou 😄
Have you tried Centurion oil primed linen canvases? I think you will like them. I get them from Amazon or Jerry's Artarama here in the U.S.
Gorgeous! You said you were just using Gamsol - do you ever use any other mediums eg Liquin?

Could you please do a video for beginners? Please, I admire you so much ❤
it’s on the list! watch this space 😄

hiiii! I have a question 😅 But first your art Is amazing!!!! Congratulation! What Is the name of the style? It's a specific style?
thanks! no specific style really - although you’re probably asking the wrong person, a critic of art expert may have a different opinion 😄
