Haven’t been on Hagrid’s yet, but it looks better (although a couple of the animatronics look terrible). The only really thrilling part of dueling dragons (to me) was when the two coasters were headed right at each other.
I ride Dueling Dragons (Dragon Challenge) 4 times with my dad! We rode both tracks twice! When they announced it was closing we were devastated. I rode Hagrid’s a month after it opened and I told him it was one of the best rides I have ever been on. He asked which one was better, I said they are both AMAZING but I enjoyed Hagrid’s more. I really want to take him on Hagrid’s the next time he comes to town!
Awesome ride - the whole family loved Hargrids! We did get stuck in the drop track, but got a free fast pass and ended up riding it 3x in one day! Such a wicked coaster. Def recommend.
Dueling Dragon was my favorite rollercoaster, riding it in its golden age when the coasters still dueled was a one of a kind experience. I never rode it as dragon challenege, and I haven't been able to ride Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure yet, but I will always miss Dueling Dragons.
LOVED this video. Super informative, engaging, and it was fun to learn the history of how Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (yes, we must say the whole name) came into existance.
Wizarding World and its ride really set the bar astronomically high for the level of detail in rides and their lines; it really put the THEME in theme park. I've been twice and every time I marvel at how much thought and detail was put into this part of the park.
Was that Oct 2nd 2019? I came from Germany with seven people of my family (was a one in a lifetime vaca), all excited and looking forward to ride this new coaster... And then there were bees. Fun fact: my father in law who was with us is a apiarist himself, they wouldn't let him do the job🤣 We are still very sad about the circumstances on this day.
Got to ride it for the first time this past summer, and it doesn’t disappoint. Is “Dueling Dragons” a more thrilling and scary ride? Yes, but the level of detail and surprises found in “Hagrid’s” makes it a very worthy successor in my opinion.😊
My alternate Universe is where covid19 never existed or atleast never made it overseas and I was able to go here and ride this coaster which looks awesome. Guess it will have to wait til next year. 2020 you suck.
This was fantastic and perfect timing, just had my first ride on Hagrids yesterday, walked right on. I was one of the biggest Dueling Dragons fans, 1000's of rides my buddies and I used to dye our hair red and blue with matching shirts to DD, did I like DD better? Yes. But this an amazing ride that even if not a Harry Potter fan, you will enjoy yourself. Velocicoaster is our real DD replacement/enhancement.
This is right now my number one best roller coaster because I couldn’t get on velocicoaster due to technical delays. And people still call it a family coaster? HELL NAW!! This is a thrill ride for sure and let me tell you, it is awesome! I got to ride both the side car and the motorcycle and I loved both of it
I got to ride this twice this last summer. Both times, I came off the ride in tears because it was literally the best roller coaster I've ever been on. It made me so happy to ride it. We went for early access since we stayed at Surfside. While we waited about an hour and a half, it didn't feel like it because of the absolutely amazing theming in the queue. Not only was the actual ride itself a ton of fun, the ride is just visually stunning! Universal really knocked this one out of the park. I'd wait all day long for it if I had to! I only rode Dueling Dragons once, but it was ruined by the rudeness of the employees. They made fun of my dad's weight and I just did not go near that ride ever again.
Cannot wait to ride this! I was incredibly sad when Dueling Dragons closed, but I’m so happy to see that a worthy successor replaced it. 😊 Thank you as always for making such a great video!
I went on it three times when I visited back in February, once during the day, once in the evening, and once after sundown. Got better each time, definitely my favourite roller coaster.
Such a wonderful, informative and emotional video! While watching I literally had to hold back my tears two times ... when I was thinking of the first time I rode the Dragons 10 years ago ... and the first time I experienced Hagrid's - both times emotionally overwhelmed. Your video brings all the emotions back. Thank you.
I went when they started to run the ride at opening. Unfortunately, my friend and I sprinted to the ride when the park opened and accidentally bum-rushed a family knocking them over. We got kicked out, but bought wigs and snuck back in (even though we were banned for a year) and got to ride it. I liked it!
I first tried to get on Hagrid's on my birthday in September, but with that crazy Virtual Line system, I couldn't get on. Since we had the rona passes (buy one day and get the year) me and my girlfriend tried endlessly to get in with no success. But we finally got on last week (the day after New Year's) and I can say, it was worth the 4 month and 2 hour wait time. This was the only ride where I've unironically screamed like a little girl while riding! The vertical drop was unexpected and delightful. I was so shook that I didn't even realize there was a button to push. Guess I've got to go on it again.
Having just gotten back from Orlando and riding Haggrid’s multiple times it absolutely delivers. While not nearly as intense as Dueling Dragons (important to not Dragon Challenge - which made it about equal intensity without the duel) Haggrid’s is a great ride with brilliant theming. The multiple launches, the open feeling on the bikes (side car not so much), and the other surprises (drop track, reverse switch track, etc…), I can’t sing it’s praises enough. 9.5/10. Only VelociCoaster is better on Islands.
This is the only video in the history of this channel I haven't watched because I hadn't ridden Hagrid's yet. I just rode this INCREDIBLE creation and worthy replacement for Dueling Dragons yesterday (along with Velocicoaster which immediately became my #1 coaster) and one of my first thoughts after I got off was now I can finally watch this video! And as always GREAT VIDEO!
I terribly miss dueling dragons, it was mine and my moms favorite thing. We'd go one several times over and over. I was so heartbroken when it was closed. So many amazing memories with that ride.
Fun fact if you listen closely when you go in to the tunnel by the car when the car beeps it plays the Harry Potter theme song so when you first pass it it plays the first part and then when you go backwards you hear the second part of the song.
I went on this ride in October of 2022 it consistently broke down while I was in line so the wait was about 3 hours. When I got on though it ran completely smooth and it was a wonderful experience.
I LOVE this new coaster. I never rode Dueling Dragons, but I think it's absolutely incredible in it's own right. A must-ride, no matter what the wait is!
I really think this ride is an amazing roller coaster with an amazing experience. But I just have trouble loving it compared to its predecessor which was one of the if not THE best dueling coasting in the world.
I was there for HMCMA's opening day. It sure was a hellish 14.5 hour wait in alternating rain and 95 degree heat, but the coaster was certainly worth it. (Had it not broken down so many times, we would have only waited maybe 6 hours, for reference.) I had to call off work the next day because my feet were so swollen I couldn't tie my shoes.
Just sharing a memory: When I finally got the chance to ride it, I waited in the sun by Sinbad while it was down for morning testing. Team members gave us a return ticket for when they finally opened but gave us the option to wait in line if we wanted. Only 12 of us stayed waiting... for 5hrs! Finally it opened and we rode and because we waited so long and ppl were still moving through the long queue, they sent us out again! Right after, I used my ticket to ride a 3rd time! Universal team members were super cool and 5hrs but 3 back to back rides was amazing!
I don’t know why I waited so long to watch this on my watch later but I loved it. I worked at dragon challenge and experienced dueling dragons as one of my first coaster experiences ever. And although I miss that ride and how spooky the original queue was, Hagrids is an amazing attraction! IOA gets better and better with each new attraction they add.
In July 2019 I surprised my Potter obsessed husband with tickets to IoA in hopes of getting him on Hagrid’s. We got EXTREMELY lucky and got on the ride after only a two and a half hour wait! We got to the park two hours before it opened and literally ran to the ride when the park opened. We then got into the single rider line and got on the ride within 30 mins! It broke down 20 mins after we got off. I honestly know nothing about Harry Potter but this ride was AMAZING! One of the best coasters I’ve ever riden
I’ll never forget opening day I got there before the park opened and there was so many people in line. I managed to sneak around to the wizarding world and managed to cut that line and get on first! No regrets
I rode Dueling Dragons 20 years ago and loved it. I have not had a chance to get back to the park after I moved out of Florida, but the new ride dose look great.
I love your videos! Both from a history and background setting to my favorite rides at Universal Orlando. But also too showing the detail and layout of the rides . Truly great videos I love to rewatch from time to time!
Just rode hagrids for the first time on September 13th and WOW! What an amazing ride! I rode on the side car. I didn't want to watch videos on this ride before i rode it because i didn't want to ruin it, and im so glad I waited!! The launches and the backwards part and the track drop were unexpected!! I didn't think the ride would be as long as it was! Can't wait to hopefully get on it again as i live in London so not cheep to go Orlando 😅
We were lucky enough to visit in November 2020 and we didn't even try to go on this. All other rides were no problem but there was always at least three hours wait for this. My brother and I were even given single-use fastpasses when another ride broke down and it noted that it would work for every ride except this one. Looks nice though
I will not be watching this video tonight! And I love Expedition Theme Park! I am headed to Universal next Friday, and trying not to watch anything on the park so I can experience it first hand! But no worries I will be watching this episode sitting in my hotel next week! I always binge watch you at Disney which I have been going to my whole life. Because the only thing better about being at a theme park is learning about a theme park, and it’s history!
19:34 still the best moment on th13teen for a rider that don’t know what happens like when I first rode it I was very aware of the drop but I didn’t expect the drop at all it literally made my heart drop from the fear
Ive ridden Hagrid, on one hand we were queing for hours and then were sent away as the ride closed due to issues. But we rode it later that day and it's arguably the best ride in the park
I went last winter when it randomly got down to 30 degrees. The park emptied out and I only had to wait about 20 mins to get on. Probably my new favorite coaster.
@@ExpeditionThemePark I honestly hadn't planned on riding that day. I was there for Grinchmas and it was on the tail end of recovering from illness. But when I realized everyone was bailing from the park due to the 20 degree weather change, I decided to check the line. So glad I did, because it might have been a once in a lifetime thing for me. Defiantly worth getting sick all over again from the cold and movement. 10/10 would puke again.
Seems like all of Universal's new rides have a lot of kinks at first. Escape from Gringott's had issues the first several times we attempted to ride it.
Unpopular opinion - Dueling Dragons was a better and more thrilling ride. Even without dueling trains (which, like most things, was caused by a few bad apples who ruined it for everyone).
I rode the ride less than a month after it opened, we waited for hours in line early and was one of the first people to ride the ride that day. We finally got on and got stuck at the drop part for about five minutes and all were so confused 🧍 like we didn’t know if that was supposed to happen 😂 soon someone came over the intercom and said the ride had broke down and soon it started up again. The ride was super fun and impressive, but had SO many issues and broke down 24/7
Dueling Dragons or Hagrids?
I wish I could’ve ridden dueling dragons. Damn my height to hell
Haven’t been on Hagrid’s yet, but it looks better (although a couple of the animatronics look terrible). The only really thrilling part of dueling dragons (to me) was when the two coasters were headed right at each other.

Florida 2020 was cancelled so can't answer yet, however blue track was amazing!
PS1 Hagrid for the win!
Awesome ride - the whole family loved Hargrids! We did get stuck in the drop track, but got a free fast pass and ended up riding it 3x in one day! Such a wicked coaster. Def recommend.
They interviewed Warwick Davis about the ride even though he wouldn’t be able to ride. He’s 3’ 6” and you have to be 4’ to ride.
I didn't think of that haha
Warwick Davis 22:20
Aww poor Warwick. Hopefully he enjoyed the queue.
It's called booster boots
I was thinking about that while watching it lol!
Rest Easy, Mr. Coltrane. Thank you for changing our lives for the better.
You know when the queue has 5 different sections, it's going to be one hell of a long wait.
Everytime I see the 13 drop track clip is my day gets instantly better
Me too!!

Waited in line for 5 hours last October because there were honeybees on the track and they needed an apiarist to remove them.
Haha yeah I cut that bit from the video
Not the bees! AAAAAAAAA! Argabluba my eyes! MY EYES!!!
Ouch! I waited an hour and 15 minutes forcwickerman and I thought that was bad!
I was in line that day and left because I had an audition back home the same day 🤣🤣

Would Chinese Dueling Dragons be a worthy successor?
With this and velocicoaster they are some worthy successors.
Thanks for including the true Hagrid at the end. Kevin would be proud.
Alternate universe,
Hagrid is a walk on
Fast and furious supercharged: a 10 hour line.
I guess we live in the good timeline then.
Yeah, that is the absolute darkest of timelines...
TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!
The people in that universe aren’t the smartest then

I’m convinced Sam just crafts these videos to use the clip of the journalist screaming wildly on Thirteen 🤣
Hahahaha any chance I get that clip is going in
PS1 hagrid at the end took the video from excellent to amazing.
The best part!
I remember riding the Ice Dragon as a kid and being able to see the treads on the shoes of a Fire Dragon rider's shoes in the loop. That was awesome.
This is right now my number one best roller coaster because I couldn’t get on velocicoaster due to technical delays. And people still call it a family coaster? HELL NAW!! This is a thrill ride for sure and let me tell you, it is awesome! I got to ride both the side car and the motorcycle and I loved both of it
I’ve been on an Expedition Theme Park binge this weekend, every use of the clip on Thirteen gets funnier 😂
Bit timid
It's still become my absolute favorite coaster despite its rocky start. It's just so...fun!
It is pure fun!
That Dreamworld advert was so perfectly Australian.

A troubled start. But this has to be the greatest roller coaster for families ever built. It’s absolutely beautiful.

Unpopular opinion - Dueling Dragons was a better and more thrilling ride. Even without dueling trains (which, like most things, was caused by a few bad apples who ruined it for everyone).
Best ride ever!!! It’s impressive on many levels and a lot of fun!
I adore this ride. It’s a lot of fun and my favorite at the park(s). I never rode Dueling Dragons though so can’t compare.
I’m so happy you uploaded a video today. I needed it.
Glad I could help!
The ride was super fun and impressive, but had SO many issues and broke down 24/7
Definitely hagrids it looks like an amazing fun experience love you Chanel keep up the great work ❤️
Thank you so much
this video is worth the extra wait
