HELL NO. As a mother I would drop dead before I let any other woman make major medical decisions for my child. Gabriel needs to stay in her lane and Dwayne needs to grow a pair and be a good father.
I don't think Dwayne is really on board. He speaks haltingly when he talks about this. He needs to step up for his son. If his son grows to hat him for this, he earned it.

That’s the first thing that came to mind, the fact that the kid was on runways and big events knowing if they were just Dwayne’s normal son, he wouldn’t get the same treatment. Imagine the effect it has on kids, that if you become trans, it’ll make your life better and you’ll get all these opportunities just for being trans. It’s pure poison for these kids who are just confused and not comfortable in their own bodies yet, they need CONFIDENCE, not a way out through a life-changing and non-reversible procedure. They’ll put the spotlight on kids becoming trans but they won’t shed any light on the people who regret their transition and hate their lives after becoming trans

Agreed. I've got a friend who has twin daughters, but one of them is now a trans "boy". Needless to say, he is constantly posting pictures of his "son" on social media, but somehow the other daughter is nowhere to be seen....
I have a friend who lives in California and her mother and stepfather are trying to force her to be trans and she does not want to be. It's so scary for her and she hates it. This is truly an awful phenomenon.

As a female with PCOS, I have experienced firsthand the havoc unbalanced hormones cause in the body. I cannot imagine all the ignored side effects of "transitioning" that children, both male and female, will experience during and after "gender affirming hormone therapy." And to think that they will experience these things without knowing what is actually causing them, because of course no one told them in the first place.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not very familiar with disputes involving custody/parental rights. My understanding is Siohvaughn would have to sign alongside Dwayne, given she is the biological mother and has parental rights, instead of Gabrielle.
The biological mother doesn’t have rights to sign off on any major medical decisions since Dwayne Wade maintains sole custody of the children. Just because we’re disgusted with any medical and legal transitions for the child (and we are rightfully so), we don’t have to lionize a parent whose chosen to abandon and be absent from their child’s life and had those rights stripped away in court because of decisions they’ve made

That’s a good point. So many people would express concern if a parent let their child get tattooed at zaya’s age, because of that fear that the child would change their minds later, but be stuck with this permanent mark. Now, tattoos can be covered over, and do not affect one’s life much at all, but gender transitions change EVERYTHING! Yet this boy’s mother is the villain. Sure, hun. Sure.

Whenever there is an incentive for a parent to show off a particular type of child (super athlete, music prodigy, etc), the parent always makes that part of their identity and shows them off at every opportunity. What a tough thing to have to navigate. I don’t understand why things have to be “right now, immediately” or else. I don’t think it’s out of the realm of good parenting to ask that your child not make life/body altering changes until they are adults and can understand & accept the weight of their decisions & also live with any consequences(good and bad) that may arise from those choices. As a parent of 5 (4 now grown young men & a little 11 year old lady), I’ve learned that you love your kids, you support them and you raise them in a way that helps them become fully functioning adults. You do everything in your power to do it with the least amount of damage you possibly can. I don’t think putting a child who is already having identity issues & clearly struggling-on “world display” like some token trans child is being a good parent. I think it’s a sign of a good parent who wants their child to grow up and mature before they make drastic life-changing decisions. You tell/show your kid you love them no matter what their choices are. You support them in every good way available including getting them into therapy when dealing with issues that are beyond your parental capabilities. However, the worst thing you can do for your kids is give in to every whim without all of the facts or understanding & go into things blindly just because they “want it/to”. Allowing that is at best, irresponsible and at worst, downright negligent. Having a gender identity disorder is brutal on its own but what’s worse is going through that and making an irreversible change then being stuck with consequences that you didn’t fully understand when you had supposed wiser, loving adults whose job it was to protect you from this exact type of thing. If you’re divorced parents, get your children into family counseling, set
aside your own personal issues, include both parents and their spouses/partners. Come together to give your child the best possible outcome. What is the harm of waiting till 18 to change a name or identity? Why not make sure you are sending a fully functioning, emotionally stable, human being out into the world ready and capable of making big important decisions, first ?

They are learning to play piano, and because we are a multicultural family, a mix of Spanish (husband) Greek/Italian (my father and I) they have already learned a few languages. My little sister was going through this in her teens. She was convinced she is trans and it was absolutely due to the fact that our mother wasn't there for most of her life especially when puberty became an issue. She didn't have my mother to find her femininity and it caused the gender dysphoria. Me and my dad convinced her to wait until she was 18 to make any rash decisions and to this day she is very thankful that we pushed her to wait.
